I don't want to be locked in with TTU annually in football. I'd much prefer to play a single non-SEC based Texas team each season. Year 1 could be tech, year 2 TCU, year 3 Rice, etc then repeat. All other sports like bball and baseball, that's cool.

Fuck Baylor and TCU. Would rather not do any agreement with tech but will take this over playing those teams.

So many idiots on this board negging people for suggesting Casey should have been the starter. It was not a difficult choice if you had a little bit of foresight. You don't have to get smacked on the head before you realize something is coming at you. When two QBs perform neck and neck in practice but one has some street cred, go with the one with the street cred and let the other develop. There was no need to rush Card. He will be a great QB for us in a year, not now. And Sark has turned out to be every bit of a lackluster hire as I had imagined. I hope he doesn't set the program back another 5 years. Turn things around quick or get out. Texas has no more time to fuck around and find out.

Might want to wait until you see Casey do well for an entire game. Literally 1.

    They probably hate Oklahoma's more?

I mean, the thing that's hard for us is why are you guys the way you are and Ohio State and Michigan aren't?  We have to look at Iowa, who is as "worthless" as we are or more less, and they don't have to worry about shit because Ohio State and Michigan are completely fine subsidizing them.

75% of the current P5 are schools that would be in this spot if the blue bloods they associate with got sick of doing so.

Because the Big Ten has more than 2 tier 1 programs that draw national audiences, and the east coast presence for TV deals.

Just listen to you assholes.  No wonder I feel like an outsider around here.

There are certainly some bad takes on this thread but 8,700+ posts for feeling like an outsider is weird.

My OU seats kinda suck compared to what I’m used to

I have the same feeling. I wonder if they are allocating more of the better seats to recruits/families/university friends.

Basketball schools care about basketball.  If you're Houston and you want into the Big 12, having a strong basketball program (now and historically) is going to help get a school like KU on your side.  Obviously you have to bring football first.  But basketball is a good tie-breaker when a basketball strong league is in expansion mode.

You just said the exact same thing bill said while quoting him and trying to make it sound like you disagreed. Congrats.

I guess I'll keep reposting this about ratings and value and "remove ou and Texas...". We unquestionably add value to the PAC. If they do not expand it will be for other reasons, not value or ratings.

OSU v. ISU would have been the third highest rated game in the PAC, OSU v. Tech would have been 7th, and OSU v. KSU would be 8th.

Not all viewers are worth the same (but I still I hope y'all end up somewhere soon)

  8. I'm curious if it will matter at all. Previously, there was a reason to split up the seat donation vs ticket cost because one was tax deductible. That's no longer the case, so even if they lock donations, they can just make all future increase to the ticket cost.

They are always very careful to say "seat-related gift" and not "ticket price".

Don't remember if this article has been linked.  Author took 5 year's average TV ratings excluding the CCGs and bowl games.  Ranked 1 to 73.  SMU was #73.  Below are the top 25 in the list.

When the viewership of the Big 12 is only UT and OU, everyone gets closer to their average. No one else brings eyeballs which is our viewership is lower than expected, and why others are higher.

Did anyone see their the Tx/OU ticket locations yet? I just logged on and it showed LDN 13 so I'm thinking location is set?

I hope not because the location I'm seeing sucks

I think this guy is an ISU fan - what did he expect??? That Texas would have a deep-seated love for the institution of Iowa State University?

Easy as fuck to be Iowa State and "commit" to riding Texas and OU's coattails when you have no alternative. There's no reason for us to commit to them.
