  1. And the rest of the people behind him that could've be destroyed by railgun ballistas and archers and ended the immediate threat to her rule?
  2. There were like 4 other scenes that made absolutely no sense to me and that was definitely one of them. Of any character that would violate that sacred protocol (blowing up innocent people at a religious trial) it would be Cersei. There's no getting around why she didn't shoot them or at least kill Tyrion. If that wasn't in the plans - skip that whole bullshit scene and find another way to let Dany know that her personal assistant is dead.
  3. Just came here to say this show managed to ruin 4 good seasons and 3 mediocre seasons in only 4 episodes. Shocking considering how dumb Dan and Dave are - but they really managed to completely suck the life out of this show for me. Don't really give a fuck who dies now, don't care who ends up on the throne, etc.
  4. Also - I'd like to give a shoutout to Cactus Flinthead. What a great fuckin' guy to provide the level of detail he does in these threads. +rep bro
  5. HD in the Centex area is now carrying Hou-actinite. Houston's version of Milo. Its 6-3-0 + 1 iron so it's the same stuff and it comes in a 50lb bag for the same price. I've been using it now since last summer and it works great. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hou-Actinite-50-lbs-Recycled-Fertilizer-6-3-1-100537721/306913963
  6. Let me make you a recommendation. Use top soil or compost and add in about 30-40% sand. Golf courses use sand to level and I've had much better results with it than I have with just top soil. Some places in central Texas call it Pond Sand, which is finer and dirtier than play sand. I use a mixture of compost and sand probably 10 times a season in areas where my bermuda isn't as flat as I'd like it (runoff, gutter spouts, etc) and I just put it down as evenly as possible and use my sand leveler and a push broom to get it below the turf and fill in.
  7. It was still going on at most stores when I posted this. They will put all the clearance inventory out in a small area of the store until it's completely gone. Most of the rods/reels were shitty ass Lews combos and those H20 Express inshore rods. Saw some guys were getting that 1500 dollar Perception Pilot pedal yak for half off of 800 dollars though, which is a pretty good deal for that boat.
  8. Not sure if any of ya'll took advantage - but Academy did their annual 50% the clearance price thing this past weekend. Lot of lures, rods, reels, terminal tackle, and soft plastics for 98 cents after the 50% off. They even had Rapala squarebills for 98 cents, which is pretty insane.
  9. Prodiamine is one of the best. You can also buy it on Amazon. Lesco makes a Crabgrass Pre-Emergent that isn't too expensive and is usually applied at a 4lb per 1000sq ft rate.
  10. i think he indicated that if he had even half day guide money - he would take a trip to the coast. I'm guessing he's trying to do it on the cheap - which is understandable. I appreciate the whole "being out on the water with the boys regardless of how the day is going" though because I grew up hunting and fishing the old fashioned way and that meant it wasn't always productive.
  11. All the reports I've seen thus far were from the San Gabriel and they have been catching occasional males but no ladies yet.
  12. A guy on Facebook group that spends a lot of time on Travis posted the following: Lake Travis is turning on. Lots of fish in the 2-3 pound range being caught right now with an occasional biggun in the mix. I’m heading to the backs of the creeks and finding them. Best baits were senko and spinnerbait. Looks like they might already being moving up because of this weird 2 weeks of warmer temps. He was already seeing some beds that were not occupied yet.
  13. I did 6000 sq ft of Tif 419 sod last year in mid March. It's a pretty awesome turf coming from a smaller, but more water-hungry St Aug lawn. 1. It is nitrogen hungry and I found that it did best with more regular application than I used to use with my St Aug. 2. I used a lot of humic acid and Air-8 to try and amend a poorly graded top soil and was able to get my roots really deep in one season. It made it through that 90 day drought and 100+ temps pretty damn good and the areas that were affected bounced back quickly the minute that we had that early fall rain around Labor day. 3. This grass just flat out doesn't do well at all in the shade. Even the shade around the edges of my home were sparse if they weren't getting at least 6-8 hours of direct sun. The areas that get full sun all day long though were awesome. I've got some pics of my lawn in this thread a few pages back.
  14. Yes. I've been laying down the Lesco 0-0-7 since mid Jan and I'm putting another bag down before March.
  15. In line with what the guy above me just said - Charles Whited is a central Texas guide (Barefoot Fishing Tours) and is an accomplished (very much so) local bass tournament angler. Guy is always in the money. If I wanted to go on a trip and guarantee I caught fish, that's who I would hire. He charges 350 for 4 hours with 3 people on the boat + him.
  16. Got to be honest - Travis has been fairly slow as of late from all the reports I've seen. Unless you have a good graph on your boat and you know how to video game fish, you might not do very well. What day are you planning this trip? The white/hybrids will eventually start moving up into the coves around Grelle / Muleshoe / Krause and that could make for a good day if you dont mind fishing minners. The weather and the flood event has really been adding the level of fuckery on the highland lakes right now. Even bank stomping my honey holes, I haven't landed a fish in my past three outings. I'm hopeful the prespawn fishing on Travis will be really good this year as the water temps rise (possibly earlier than normal this year) If your trip isn't for a couple of weeks, I'd suggest the following lures: - dragging a jig (boring as hell but will be productive around ledges, humps, dropoffs) - paddle tail swimbaits on a weighted swimbait hook - lipless cranks and jerkbaits
  17. I was able to score some really good deals at HD on all the lawn and garden stuff they start clearancing out. Got my pre-emergent granules, a half price echo backpack sprayer, and some bifenthren they now carry instore. Going to hit up Walmart next and score those bags of fungus control granules for 5 bucks a pop. They also have Lesco ferts in stores for damn near half price per 50lb bag.
  18. I've heard a lot of conflicting reports on "winterizing" warm season turf in mild winter zones. Also - it's pretty hard to find any 30+ K fertilizers around here. Would a general purpose 13-13-13 work?

    Retiring on a ship.

Whatever you do, make sure you name your retirement yacht the "SS Humblebrag" lol. This thread is hilarious.
  20. Good info man. I'm in Central Texas. What slow release nitrogen in a 46-0-0 are you using? Should I put a winterizer down now if I haven't yet?
  21. Here's a no filter pic of my Shag carpet 3" Bermuda w/o stripes.
  22. Also - if I had to go back and start over in early spring when we moved in, I'd do things completely differently. 1. Even with limited watering time/days, I would only water deep and infrequent in the morning. Heat/humidity and night time watering on newly laid sod with poor soil is bad. 2. Get a fucking soil test from the get go. You can buy a DIY test kit on Amazon for checking pH and NPK for like 13 bucks. You can also get a kit that you send to a lab for a full analysis. 3. Keep to a specific feeding schedule if you're dealing with Bermuda. This shit is very nitrogen hungry. I was having to apply more often with this lawn than my previous St Aug. 4. This grass will grow fine at varying heights but it is not a very even growing grass when your dirt isn't level. Your dirt needs to be level and it needs to be short. Once it's short and dense, the weeds seem less frequent. It also seems to dry out better and have a lot less fungal issues. 5. Pre-emergents are a must for new sod. I should've stayed on a 3 month schedule from late Feb to May.
  23. All the work this summer has really paid off. I struggled with brown patch, compacted soil, heat stress, etc. Got my last ironite/fert down right before the first rains in early Sep. Excuse the filter but it helps show the unevenness of my turf and trouble spots that are still slowly filling in. Next season I'm going to start off with the grass cut short, aerate and topdress with a compost/sand that'll help level out all the low spots and spaces in the sod. Once every thing is level, I'm going to be cutting below 1" and using Podium to regulate vertical growth.
  24. Anyone can put lipstick on a pig and flip a home in South Austin. There are a few areas with some nice neighborhoods, but they're surrounded by neighborhoods that are straight up ghetto as fuck. I'm talking about south south Austin btw. Not near-to-downtown south austin.
  25. This whole thing hits close to home. I too used to live in the once nice - now ghetto that is pretty much all of south Austin. Glad I got the fuck out that area and moved to the burbs. I would've got all his shit on video/audio so I had loads of evidence for his harassment, and stayed on the phone with code compliance, about the shit spraypainted on his house, trash piles in the yard, etc. Not sure what they would do but they write tickets for parked junk cars in the street and sheds being too close to a back fence so it would be worth a shot.
