  1. Just picked up this 2006 for a weekend cruiser. Hope I don't come to regret it. But happy Jeeping to all. Got to get some Texas family to send me a decent Longhorn decal
  2. Customized Seiko Diver (007SKJ) from Long Island Watch
  3. Here's that Seiko I posted about above. Obviously I wound up ordering it. Good backup watch. It immediately led to another Seiko purchase (automatic). I'll post that one tomorrow when I get it sized.
  4. I have to dig up a picture for you guys of when I tried to help some college kid at a boat ramp at a drained, muddy lake bed. He took his GF "mudding" in a Wrangler and made it just far enough to cause me to sink down to the frame when I tried to go out there and help him (at his and her request). Sent from my SM-T837A using Tapatalk
  5. I think you are on to something. Some % of these ramp crap shows have to be insurance fraud. Launched and retrieved hundreds of times. Never once did I feel like we were even close to sinking the truck. OTOH, assuming an empty driver's seat and no parking break... I guess a transmission pawl could break? Bumping the trailer too hard knocks the tyranny into reverse? That's all I can come up with.
  6. Pretty sure it's a 1648. Bought it used and rigged it for redfishing. This thread has me seriously interested in building something similar down by the coast for boat storage and a weekend / party / man cave getaway. Fraction of the cost of coastal real estate. Survive a storm surge. Minutes away from the boat ramp...
  7. Qualified Captain (thequalifiedcaptain) on Instagram has been on the money this Spring with boat fails. FYI
  8. They finally started busting topwater yesterday
  9. From Naturday. Suspending hard twitch baits did the trick. Even caught a few nice fish on the new Rapala Twitching Mullet 8. Just tied it on for a test run and bagged a 25in red on the third cast.
  10. Is that the Dark Side watch? Love that thing. Looked at it a couple weeks ago after watching the Watch Finder video
  11. I fish suspending hard stickbaits here 98% of the time when throwing suspending lures. But I ventured over to Corky when my buddy started slaying them.
  12. I know Paul Brown's Corkys are sacred for you Texas guys. But do you find that putting them in a plastic tackle tray turns them into mush? Do you just keep them in the original packaging until its time to fish? We fish them occasionally here in FL. A buddy of mine was absolutely hammering fish on one last weekend so I took one out of my tackle tray and it was "melted". That's the second time that's happened to me with a Corky. I am going to get a couple more I just want to see if I am the only one. I do not know how long those baits had been in that tray (could've been years).
  13. Chrono is not important at all. I like the color combination and size/materials.
  14. Hey guys I love the idea of this watch for a pool/boat/beach watch but I wish it was automatic instead of quartz. Any suggestions for an automatic equivalent? Or bite the bullet and go with quartz?
  15. Surprised that nobody's suggested a Senko (or similar) either Texas rigged or wacky rigged as conditions dictate.
  16. I can't keep up with the 1%ers above but I built a toy barn with a workshop area.
  17. Went to take a piss in an alley in Isla Mujeres and ran into a female (pretty sure) Mexican federale sporting a CZ Bren 805. Five foot three inches of Mexican federal female officer wearing a kevlar helmet, ninja mask and a CZ Bren 805. Decided to piss elsewhere.
  18. Dealing with the criminal lack of cup holders in Pathfinder bay boats. Moved GPS puck to the t top and put these on the dashboard.
  19. Decided to bring two old reels out of "deep storage" and get them back into the rotation. I have re-spooled and replaced the drag on a Penn Spinfisher 7500SS. This reel was the first saltwater reel I purchased for myself while in grad school in 2002. Going to use it on a semi custom Connolly rod for pitching to cobia. Felt good messing with Trilene Big Game 20 again after over a decade of basically braid only. The other reel is an old (Japan) Shimano TLD25. It'll need a service but it'll also get a drag and handle upgrade. Going to spool with mono as filler and a braid topshot. Mostly going to get used for trolling on a new Connolly rod as well. Both reels just sat in the corner of the garage for 10+ years. Going to be good getting them on the water again. If it doesn't work out I'll just buy new stuff but I like the feeling of using what's already on hand.
  20. Been thinking about picking up a PMR30 for armadillo hunting around my property. Prices have come down.
  21. Anyone going all out replacing mono line and rusty hooks? I have been engaging in tackle therapy getting ready for the bite. 'God does not subtract from a man's life the time spent playing with fishing tackle.'
  22. Weather said April but the bite was still February. Decent little fish fry though
