Someone on this thread made the observation that you never see a woman in the passenger seat. It's always just a guy by himself. Since I read that I always look, and it's almost always the case. I did see a couple get out of one at HEB the other day. Mid-50s guy, short, bald, grey goatee, body by TRT, and his Asian wife/gf with giant fake tits and face full of fillers and botox.

That's accurate as hell in my experience,  I like when they look over and smile with both hands off the wheel. So cool.

Did see two on the side of the road broke down in the last week.

  2. Mostly agree with the worst person you know / JPEG.

She should keep saying things like this; really plays to the base.  While I agree that Vietnam was a horrible waste and tradgedy my Trump voting mother would be livid if she heard this and  finally go through the trouble of not voting straight R to vote D against MTG every time.

There are things you just don't say in mixed company let alone on the internet with your name on it.

The "they" that ran all those narratives is your fucking party

How Tesla is quietly rebranding the Cybertruck

When Tesla launched the Cybertruck in 2023, it was the product of four years of hype. The boxy electric pickup was the company's first new model since 2020. Kim Kardashian, Pharrell Williams, and Justin Bieber were spotted riding around in it. With a million people on the truck's reservation list and a $120,000 price tag, it quickly became a status symbol.

Less than two years later, the waitlist has disappeared. Trucks are piling up in sales lots. Fewer than 50,000 vehicles have been delivered. Some owners have become political targets thanks to CEO Elon Musk's association with President Donald Trump.

    Enter a quiet rebrand.

Over the past few months, Tesla has moved to position the Cybertruck as a working man's vehicle — less DeLorean, more Ford F-150. The company updated its website, ditching an other-worldly aesthetic for images that feature the truck hauling equipment and an Airstream trailer. And sales workers at the company told Business Insider it's become increasingly difficult to move the truck off sales lots. The vehicle, they said, needs to appeal to the traditional truck buyer.

"Pitching it to truck people is more about the functionality," said one salesperson who works in the South. "They want to know how much it can tow, how much can fit in the truck bed."

    ———

Tesla has sold less than 50,000 Cybertrucks.  Last year, Ford sold 765,000 F-series, and in 2023 they sold 750,000.

How the fuck have they only sold 50 k of these fuckers, and are all of them in West Austin?. On any typical 8 mile drive to my project in Bee Cave I will see at least 10 of these fucking things.  A lot them are wrapped and several are wrapped with business logos.  How fucking niave do you have to be to advertise on one of these and think "this will help my business!"

Had a good laugh watching one of my clients neighbors get his into his garage.  Multi-point turn to approach garage, then all passengers had to get out because the pos barely fits. Never hauls or tows anything.  Nice guy; huge dork.

I shop at the Rundberg HEB. The only thing they ever run out of are snack food, sugary drinks, and masa.

Can you still get cows head for Barbacoa there? This bougie Lakeway Heb is all aged prime everything and Wagyu.

I don't always want to feed people luxury food.  I want old school cheap cuts i need to marinate and prep properly.

Adjacent question where is a good Mexican Market these days?  Like La Michocana on congress back in the stone ages.

Stop taking that shit and surprisingly,  have less aches and pains.

This.  I took so much Ibuprofen in my early 30s.  Rode my bike 15 miles, dose up. Framers didn't show up and i had to move 300 sheets of OSB solo, dos advils.

    Wtf.

Now I pretty much only take when it's something major like surgery, and a small dose actually works.

Baseball isn’t like football or basketball.

You don’t just get amped up and play harder for a 3 game baseball series because you’re motivated to.  You don’t throw better pitches or hit better pitches because you hate a team.

100% agreed. Somehow Augie could selectively use rage to motivate but mostly it's routine and finding calm and having set progressions that get you through high energy moments. The only anagalous football player to a baseball player would be the kicker.

I don't think a coach can prepare a team for a rivalry game that the team has never experienced as a rivalry.  We've at least played aggy every year one way or another, so someone on the roster has experienced it.  Same with blOwU.

That's a bit different from what Mack did with OU because I think a) Mack was intimidated by Stoops because b) Stoops always outcoached him and frequently out-talented him.  Mack personally had to treat it as just another game because he always doubted winning it.

It's all about the kids having a good time at the state fair. Ride some rides, get some fried butter, maybe a cookie. You can't just go get explosive plays so why bother.

If there was a God the surely he would have struck this motherfucker dead. I think that pretty much answers that mystery….

If you were God would save a species that elected an Antichrist to the most powerful office on earth?  After all we were given, all the bounty and prosperity we chose to throw away?

    We deserve our punishment.

Its actually strange to think about the scenario where him and a significant portion of the cabinet were flying with him and the plane fell out of the sky.

There was a time where that would be a global catastrophe, having negative impact because of uncertainty etc.

Now I feel like that kind of news would be received...differently both domestically and abroad.

I have all the drugs I was acquirujg for Ypifs and no one to give them to. (Rip.)

    Not really.

But maybe I have a shit load of fireworks.

in that way, a tenkara can even be better. and in really tight places I'd rather use that than any traditional set up.

I love Tenkara; but time and place.  My buddy was fishing in Co and broke off a big ass Brown.

Small waters heck yeah. Had a blast in RMNP (western side)  with a Tenkara and some dumb hungry trout.

ha...trout guys are so much different than salt guys. I've blown up a sealed Lamson reel on a bull redfish. I've also blown up the top of the line Ross with a sealed carbon fiber drag on a 10ish pound Permit. All my big game saltwater reels are "open" cork drag reels. Low tech, but absolutely bullet proof. For your application with a 3wt, click and pawl would be a sweet setup. I'd go that route.

I have a Lamsom 5wt that I love.  I fish cheap 8wt reels for bass no problem, but I'm not stepping into saltwater with a cheap reel. Not even once.

I'm also trying to fish a mono rig for trout so an upgraded 5 wt is inevitable but I like having cheap backups ready for friends on the Guad and mountain trips.

Regarding rods. A guide I fish with often has a bunch of great set-ups for clients-Winston, Sage etc.  Banging banks all day I prefer my cheap ass TFO pro 3. I'm more consistent and accurate hitting 2' strike zones  for bass but also working dries with my 5 wt. The extra price point is wasted on me. I fish fast and hard though.

What makes the most difference for me is line choice for the style of fishing I'm doing and building my own leaders.  Getting away from pre-made leaders has greatly increased my ability to turn over big flies, tuck cast nymphs smoothly,  hit tight targets, and fish dries with natural slack and gentle presentation.

Used ones are cheap as shit. The value of a used Tesla has taken a nosedive. If Elon wasn’t a Nazi, I would be tempted to buy a low mileage one to tool around in.

That and future concerns of finding someone to service it when Tesla is completely cratered.
