I think there’s an extra layer there, as in Devon and Ricken may also have been severed and there’s a Devon/Ricken-Lumon connection from years past? It’s like when Devon found out Gemma was pregnant when only Mark knew at the time, when she went to the clinic and they engineered her miscarriage, there had to be some insider conveyance of that info. The glance Mauer gave in Gemma’s direction when she and Mark entered the clinic was knowing (and super creepy).
Sure. But with respect to what we actually know for certain - Harmony Kobel as Mrs. Selvig (and it was “Mrs” interestingly) was known to Devon last year in some capacity with the baby.
I thought Devon presumed because Gemma wasn’t drinking and Gemma gave it away? In any event, I did a piss poor job of watching last week’s episode closely and need to give it a rewatch.

So it really seems like Devon and Cobel were pretty familiar on the phone... Especially considering the last time they saw each other.
I think Cobel is shifting to "burn it all down" mode. She was ok not getting credit for the severance procedure, but only if she got to run it. The last thing an Eagan said to her was that she "overestimated her contributions", when they in fact stole from her. She doesn't love Lumon, but she does have a weird faith in Kier
Gonna be an interesting ride to finish the season
Wasn’t Kobel the night nurse or something for Devin’s baby? They knew each other last year before the finale.

I'll be curious how much they feel like they need to circle back on in the final episodes. I kinda hope some of the loose ends just stay loose and they end the day with just whatever happens in the next 3 hours.
- I don't need to have the son come back and do something crazy, the payoff was the conflict and reconciliation between Robbie and McKay
- I don't need retribution on the asshole patient. The payoff is that the job is fucking dangerous
- I don't need some kind of Dr Robbie mental breakdown. I get it -- it's a fucking hard day for him personally compounded by a worse than normal day in The Pitt.
- Interested to see if the Shawn Hatosy character comes back later or not...
I think this has been renewed, right?

What a clown. Whoever said in this thread or elsewhere that Trump has a 9th grade US history class understanding of tariffs is spot on.

What I don’t understand is why the daily changes in tariff policy if tariffs are supposed to bring in trillions of dollars in new revenue?
What you have to, and clearly don’t, understand is that if you are the leader of the “free” world it’s important that you have no idea how tariffs work in order to effectively implement them in a way that will raise prices, kill jobs, and save this country. Lib!

Dems should chant “traitor” throughout his speech.
I've been bouncing back and forth on this. The SOTU (and speeches like it) are important. Anything Dems do will be castigated in the moment and used as justification in the future when MTGs of the world do something worse should we ever have a Dem president again. I was trying to think of a better form of protest. They should stand up and walk out during Trump's first sentence. Perhaps singing some kind of protest song. Hold a simultaneous protest press conference that includes fired Federal workers on the capitol steps. Take the message away from Trump's speech. We all know it will be batshit anyway. So do something that will make it batshit and not newsworthy because you've created a more newsworthy event on the capitol steps.

Counter-counterpoint - people ultimately care way more about money than fringe social issues. As soon as Joe MAGAT starts paying noticeably higher prices, can't get certain products and his 401(k) balance drops by 25% I think you'll see they care way less about the trans basketball player.
I've been paying attention. I see what I see and I don't see what I don't see. I look out the window and I don't see America as a smoldering husk of its former self. Not right now, anyway.
I wish I could buy into this. I used to say that GOP and then MAGA has done a great job getting people to vote against their own self-interest. I don't believe that anymore. MAGA's self-interest prioritizes persecuting the "other" and having an idol to worship over their own well-being. It's fucking sad. My only hope is that Trump kicks it and no one else has his ability to coalesce the deplorables to action.

Just finished the finale because I wanted closure to this horrible show. They must of had zero writers on it. The fact they kept having to use slowed down song remixes to pretend that it was a prestige TV show was actually really funny. They kept getting worse and worse. It really troubles me that I am part of the problem that allowed this shit show to get a second season.
Yeah...... they got cute with the assassination culprit. I hate it when shows do that. It's someone we never would have thought or have reason to think about, but they pretend to convey that had we been paying attention we could have figured it out. Maybe being outside the city will make it better next year. A bit of A Book of Eli with a plane.

So in previews for next week….
SpoilerThe Russian dude intros the cougars to his friends who are definitely the jewelry store thieves, right?
I didn’t mind this episode. The repeating dinners are redundant. But it’s also what it’s like being at one of those resorts.

I guess the joke is that they dress him up in a suit and a beard, and then he doesn't even attempt an impersonation?
The joke is a gay guy is playing him - I think. I’ll allow it. It doesn’t bug me that much because Vance is so fucking boring there really isn’t an impression to do. Kinda like Gerald Ford.

I’m not likening the JAJ Trump that is “in on the joke.” It’s not acerbic enough. It’s almost as if they are worried about being too mean.

I watched first two. It seems pretty good so far. The stylized way they have the Forty Elephants walk around town in Victorian dresses but with the swagger of a street gang like they own the East End is a cool look.
I don’t really buy the level of disdain Sugar has for Hezekiah. Not earned imo. You should almost but your buddies took care of things for you. Now you want to kill him? As opposed to just beating him? But whatever, I’m enjoying it.
History of the Forty Elephants is interesting. They operated until post-WWII.

Tell that to UNLV when they hired your boy Beard. But point taken.

Fuck it. I want Jai Lucas. He’s a recruiting genius and I’d be willing to give CDC a pass if it ended up not working out.

ER meets 24. Seriously though with Noah Wylie and the setting this feels like it might have originally been pitched as an ER sequel? Liking it a lot so far.
It was. Crichton estate wanted a ton of money and producers told them to get bent.
Noah Wylie on this show is best performance on TV by a long shot last year or this (knowing it’s February). It’s almost objectively true.

Mom and dad are both shady (I’m assuming Posey snubbed the Austin cougar for nefarious reasons, maybe connected to her husband’s issues) and the kids are… um…. well they seem to like each other a lot.
I took it to mean she was so drunk/hopped up on drugs she doesn't remember the trip.

we looked competent tonight. I liked moving Dani up. Ilie will be a steadying force. He’s a much more talented version of Valencia and cleaned up a lot of shit tonight.
Vasquez wins every single ball. He knows how to position his body to get there. We haven’t had a player like him on this team ever. Excited to see what he can do.
Was cold, but good times.

Felt like Vasquez was absent last night vs KC where he was winning every ball. May not be his fault. Bukari is great with the ball but his next good service into the box will be his first with us. How can the team get the ball to him in the box as opposed to making dazzling moves around the end line but outside the box.
Uzzuni was all over the field. Saw some flashes there.
Our attacking wings are much better than the two guys sitting behind them.
