My daughter's private HS implemented anything more than 7 missed days in a semester and you have to make up classes in the summer.  Extenuating circumstances, like Covid or other major illness, excepted.  They were just having too many absences.

My COO kid’s fancy dumbass private school implemented a 2 week spring break.

    Nobody does shit anymore.

I definitely took classes in college where I skipped all the classes and just showed up for quizzes/exams. Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?

    All of med school?  Yes

    Sue me, bro (please don’t).

How many crooks from the GFC went to jail?  Oh, the SEC will drag its nuts all over a day-trader that illegally profited by $5K whose best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard a tip from this guy who knows this person who's working with the girl who saw a corporate memo about a new product release.  But the real crooks that steal millions / billions?  Fuck all happens to them except having to manage a "family office" for a couple of years and never having to admit guilt.

SEC is just like the NCAA.  Go fuck w the millionaires and let the billionaires do whatever the fuck they want.

Better be careful with those penny stocks!  Meanwhile dbag Musk does whatever he wants and Trump can raise a few billion on a pump and dump, all good!

    He’s endorsed by Trump?

Would be easy to trick dotard into that.  CNN reporter: ‘We heard you didn’t endorse Biden’.
‘fake news!!!! I gave Biden the biggest endorsement!’
There’s a very real chance it goes exactly like that.

Most owners/developers who've built a track record use other people's money.  But when you are forced to sell in a down market with capital markets tighter than a drum, yes, you are fucked.  And he's going to get fucked badly.

Yeah, I remember when I was liquid and just used money/stock with the bank to buy whatever the fuck I wanted with loans at under 2%.  Those were the days.  At least I'm not Donald Dumbfuck.

You're definitely closer to his tax bracket than I am, so I hope you're correct.

He's never spent his own money.  He has had real estate daddy gave him and gets money loaned against that real estate - and he inflates the values so he can raise more money.  Well, when all of a sudden you have to sell that real estate you're paying taxes out the ass AND you lose the ability to lend against the real estate you had to sell.  It's a serious ass fucking he's taking - hence his tantrum on whatever the fuck social media platform he uses.

Counterpoint: Ronaldo has talent and can actually hold up his end of a deal.

Nothing against Ronaldo, he’s just clearly past his prime.  Just saying they have plenty of money to pay for a semiretired futbol player.  President of the US of A for much cheaper seems asinine…

But when you've got "fuck you" money.....buy em all.  And seriously, the POTUS, Commander in chief of the US armed forces, is a fucking BARGAIN at $500 million.

When it comes to selling the ownership of the presidency,

To put it in perspective, the Saudis are paying a washed up Ronaldo 315M a season to play.  Trump for 4 years is 125M per.  Yeah, that's basically free.  And the guy may not have a great shot, but he definitely has a chance.  Sounds kind of worth it.

I posted that.  They are cutting back his rallies to basically just campaign out of Florida because he broke broke.  He's begging the 7 figure donors to up their checks to 8 figures now.  @atomheartbevo keeps mentioning too that the venues he books are smaller than his 2016/2020 venues and less attended.

Biden had a $53m fundraising month and has $155 million COH.  Oh and he raised 20% of his February total just after the State of the Union ($10m in the 24 hours after that), so March will likely be an even bigger amount.

This is awesome.  I want it to keep getting smaller and smaller - but don't let him stop.  It will be like when OU had a hoops game at their 2000 seat fieldhouse this year.  SOLDOUT!  'See, we can support basketball around here!'

I think you just answered part of your own question.

On top of that, Moser is a Midwest guy.  My guess is when he came to Norman he thought they were staying in the Big 12 and he'd be able to play and recruit in that footprint quite a bit and build OU basketball back into a thing that mattered on an annual basis.  The move to the SEC cuts OU off from playing more Midwestern schools and puts Moser in a situation where his recruiting connections don't have any overlap with where he's actually playing the games.

Now going back for DePaul?  Yeesh.  That job is shit.  Yeah, they're in the Big East, but they don't have an on campus arena, and Chicago is not a college sports town.  @ChiTownDoc can probably add more accuracy here, but I'd imagine that in the Chicago college basketball pecking order, DePaul is somewhere behind Illinois, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Loyola, and maybe even Iowa, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Indiana.

Yeah it’s behind all those right now.  I think they have a new arena etc and you’d think with all the Chicago talent it’s a sleeping giant but no - it’s a MASSIVE project to take on.

In all seriousness, if the above tweet is true, I'd be very interested to know ChiTown's thoughts because he's staunchly defended Moser through thick and thin. Self in his shoes, I would feel betrayed.

I think he's a good coach but doesn't fit in well at OU or other big schools.  He's not a monster recruiter but does well in the right place.  I wish him the best but definitely don't cry over him leaving.  I'll buy him a beer sometime here in Chicago.  OU is a very underrated hoops program but their gym is a dumpster and fan support has waned even further after the Thunder came to town.  They can get a good recruiter and at worst be average in the SEC, but they should be better than that.

OU can definitely do better than Porter Moser.  They should be gearing up to do some damage in the SEC.  Over the last 40 years, OU isn't that far off from blueblood territory and actually has a better average Massey rating than Indiana, Michigan, Florida, UConn, Virginia and Louisville.  Here is where they rank over various periods:

    • Last 5 years - 29
    • Last 10 years - 16
    • Since 2000 - 19
    • Since 1980 - 14

It is a shame that Beard didn't just sit out the 2023 season, because he would have made a tremendous hire for them.  They may go after him anyway.

At the AD and above level, President etc there's a level of respect between the programs.  Unlike you guys and aggy.  OU wasn't hiring Beard under any circumstances.
