  1. Correct. I found another link and will update
  2. It also comes with age. After last year, Reese was the it girl in sports. Everyone in basketball (womens, mens, NBA, WNBA) was talking about her not only for her antics in the NC game but for winning the national championship. She even had hip hop songs with her name in it so that side of the entertainment world took notice. She had swagger and rightfully so. But sometimes, you can have all of that swagger and still get beat, which she did. My guess is her age/experience hasn’t allowed for her to understand how to handle all of the highs and lows of the sport you play and the repercussions can come along with it depending on the outcome.
  3. We could have moneywhipped almost any coach in America for basketball. Texas actively chose not to.
  4. Someone who loses their scholarship?
  5. They are really trying to make this political. I’m not sure what Iowa’s plan was when they did this but it’s going to now create a shit storm
  6. Yup, starting to see a few more credible writers pick this up…
  7. As I posted on the women’s thread, there was an NCAA change a few years ago where teams go back into the locker room at 15:00 on the pregam clock. This is what nearly all teams do and then they come back out with around 3 minutes left in pregame. For Iowa to still be out there is actually out of the ordinary. Unless they’ve done that all year (which it’s possible technically) being out there now for the anthem is unusual since all teams go back to the locker room. They would have had to pre-plan this.
  8. More evident of LSU/Iowa Race War 2.0: right wing social media are now dogging LSU for not being out there during the national anthem while Iowa was. Let me be clear—there was a change to the pre-game situation in NCAAW basketball about 4-5 years ago. The pre-game stuff (announcements, playing of school songs, playing of national anthem) starts at the 15:00 mark on the pregame clock. Nearly all teams go back inside until around 3 min remaining on the clock, and at that time, all announcements are done. Teams wanted to do this because they’d rather have more time to stretch and go over final game notes and stuff without the distraction of the crowd/announcer. I’m not sure if Iowa has done this all season, but it was actually abnormal for Iowa to stay out there for the anthem and not go in.
  9. Of course they fixed the court before tonight’s USC/UCONN game. I wonder what would have happen had we elected not to play last night
  10. Yeah, I knew about females and ACLs compared to male athletes. There could be something there about the practices and more stress…
  11. Yeah it just seems like those injuries were bad luck, not because of poor diet or something. I mean I guess we can say a better SC coach would know more progressive techniques but I’m not sure.
  12. Not sure if it’s been mentioned but I wonder if the court situation got into their heads, especially considering we had the janky part of the court first. We will never know, but I thought about that a lot during the game. Credit to Vic. I also thought the best we could hope for without Rori was the Round of 32. Getting to an EE was special. Vic will get over the hump, I’m sure of it. Someone mentioned he needed to figure out the injury thing and I’m wondering what else is he supposed to do? Rori’s just was a freak accident.
  13. Similar to what women's refs didn't know what to do with Griner. Edey gets fouled 99% of the time because no one has anyone to defend him properly. The problem though is Edey fouls too--A LOT--and they don't call it either. The one in the S16 game was the worst I've ever seen.
  14. We should be up by 10. Missing these bunnies
