  1. I can’t believe they haven’t contacted me yet. I googled and saw there is a first time abatement you can request if you’ve never been late, but I can’t figure out to request an abatement when they haven’t assessed penalties and interest.

My husband has been super nice about it, but If he is half as annoyed with me as I am with myself, he is pissed.

  2. Stupid wife here. I discovered tonight while filling out a FAFSA that I somehow never filed our tax return. No idea how that happened. I have a receipt from TurboTax that shows I paid on April 12 but evidently didn’t press transmit. I never look at out bank statements and never noticed the tax payment never came out of the account.

    I want to throw up.

  3. What is with women commenting on baby boy's penises?  My wife doesn't do this at least, but her friends who are other people's wives have made some weird comments. Stuff like, "Ohhh he's going to make some girl happy some day!"  or commenting on its potential size due to current proportions. I have no idea how big or small it is compared to other baby boys, because I really don't have a frame of reference for this subject, but it's fucking weird. Anyways, if any of you happen to run into this sort of weird shit, the best comment to make IMO is, "Well it runs in the family." and then stare at them. Don't blink, don't smile, completely serious deadpan, and see what they do.

This is beyond gross. Your wife needs new friends. 41 year old woman here, and I have never heard this in my life.

  4. I loved cabo. definitely will go back, much prefer it over quintana roo.

    Recs:

    • found awesome swimming and decent snorkeling at the end of the marina pier,
    • loved our car rental company Cactus
    • loved our sailboat snorkel cruise with Cabo Sailing--saw several sea turtles and a manta ray
    • The Cape hotel was so great, highly recommend
    • highly recommend all you can eat Taco night prix fixe $56 on Thursday nights at the Ledge (restaurant at the Cape)
    • great huevos divorciados at La Tequiza (a chain restaurant i think, we went to the one across from Costco)  https://www.facebook.com/LaTaquizaTezalOficial
    • two fantastic meals at flora farms--but probably would not recommend lunch there during the summer (too hot so far off the coast. not texas hot but still hot)

we ended up not fishing--it was crazy expensive to charter something private, and we weren't too keen on sharing with strangers for such a long day.

  5. i'm not a hotel person, but dang. My husband's gonna be sorry he took me to The Cape. It's so great. it'll be hard to go back to my springhill suites usual.

brb gonna redecorate my whole house

  6. What’s the best website to seek out the best plan based on usage?
I’ve never heard of these providers should I just go with the cheapest or pay attention to the ratings?

    I like texaspowerguide.com. It’s a $10 one time fee.

The satisfaction ratings mostly don’t matter IMO. The most important factors in this market are low cancellation fees, and no piddly fees like $5 to pay your bill or whatever nonsense they pull.

Haha this reminds me of when I took my 7 year old (white) daughter to Bass hall to see a broadway touring show, and she exclaimed loudly in the crowded foyer at intermission, “wow! White people really love theatre!”

  8. Love it! Looks gorgeous.

Last month my cleaning lady threw away my starter I got going during the shutdown in march 2020. I’m pretty bummed about it. I wasn’t actually baking bread with it really so I don’t know why I’m sad. I have never kept anything alive that long.

  9. We vacationed at garner last month, and I picked up a novel to read, The Which Way Tree, by Austin’s own Elizabeth Crook. She dedicates the book to her grandparents (I presume they are the original Butts). Turns out the plot takes place pretty near Garner. Then on our way to get supplies we saw the HEButt Foundation Camp north of Uvalde. I’m guessing she spent some time in those hills that served as inspiration. Had no idea when I brought it to read there! Looking forward to the film.

  10. No where else to put this….
My MIL - Her yard man is missing in action.  She’s pissed.  He hasn’t returned calls or texts in 3 weeks.  Odds are currently even that he’s a) died or b) ghosting her bc she’s a miser and probably hasn’t ever paid him a reasonable wage and he’s had it.
She’s treating it like a class B felony and doesn’t know how he sleeps at night bla bla bla.
MIL asked her neighbor (a licensed landscape architect) for a recommendation and he referred her to his guy who has been doing the architect’s yard for 10 years.
She called today to tell us that on our upcoming trip to see her, she wants me to sit in on the “2nd interview”.  She’s “interviewed” him once but wants a follow-up with me there.  The fact that he’s good enough for a landscape architect isn’t enough.
I’m not sure what her interrogation methods will be and how far into his history we’ll dig, but I’m sure she’ll start any wage offer at somewhere below the net cost of the gas required to run the mower.

This was an awesome contribution. I keep thinking about it throughout the day. Please update after the second interview.
  11. I dawned on me today that when HarperCollins multiposts, he doesn't really mean to multipost. What he wants is to share his excitement of a sick meme. What he wants is to bond with the board. What he wants is quality time together. Still, it's a hard no.

    Legit LOL.

Sorry for the multi post. Tapa cray
