I’ve been lurking on shag and surly going back to about 2015. As a 64 year old guy, I was finally inspired to make my first post earlier today on the “getting old sucks” thread, providing some advice on afib and cardio ablation. So, I thought I would continue to introduce myself and share some photos of a couple of my favorite pieces of Longhorn memorabilia: my personalized M. Brown and D. Royal autographed photo, and my 1969 National Champs mini-helmet with autos of Royal, Worster, Koy, Speyrer, and Street. Another hobby is collecting autos of Baseball HOF members, I’ve also attached a photo of part of that collection.
That is an impressive collection and nicely displayed. How many HOF autographs are you up to?

I have SVT. I lived with it for a number of years with no treatment as the episodes were very infrequent. Dehydration was sometimes a trigger for it so I tried to stay hydrated. Over time the episodes increased and I took Metoprolol to control it for a few years with no side affects. Eventually the meds did not work as well and I began to have episodes again so I elected to have an ablation. I had the procedure done this past March. Glad I did it despite putting it off because of the concern of having my heart messed with.
I was semi-conscious during the procedure. I could feel them changing my heart rate. I also remember developing a horrible itch on my leg that I kept trying to scratch and they ended up restraining my hands. Also recall talking a bit during it as well. Just went to the cardiologist yesterday and they have reduced my visits to once a year instead of twice a year.
I am 57 and am very active and have not slowed down at all prior to or after the procedure.

Am I the only one who sees the stylized smiling black face sunflower painted on there, looking like it’s right out of the Jim Crow era?And I was looking for Bert all this time. I see it now.

I miss Wide World of Sports. Jim McKay was great. Each Saturday you might get an Ali fight, or a demo derby and gymnastics, or barrel jumping and lumberjack competitions.

Wow. Such a fantastic, genuine person. The world needs more Bijans.
Atlanta does not realize what they have in him as a player and a person.

To me, it looked like more people were there for the PNG/SOC game than any others.

Summer Creek is from Humble, on the NE side of Houston.
I know that. I am saying that 8 of the 9 winning schools shared the same sideline/side of the field IN AT&T Stadium.

8 of the 9 winning teams were all on the North side of the stadium. Only losing team on that side is/was Summer Creek.

So out of 12 state title games I think 3 were competitive.
Gilmer and Belleville was a good game

I apparently just start to bleed spontaneously now. My wife just asked me what I did to my arm and points out a small trickle of dried blood. It's obviously been dry for some time, but damned if I know what I did to open up the small laceration from which it proceeds. I don't remember any bumps or scrapes.
This happened to me the other day. I woke up to prepare to go to work. I went to the bathroom for my morning pee. I had a small burr on one of my fingernails that scratched my scrotum. I thought I was going to bleed out.

Wife who is enormously pregnant (like, next week) made Christmas cookies again and I’m making another push at “do this as a business”. She is very good at the cookies and not good at figuring out the other stuff, I feel like Holiday cookies (Xmas, teacher appreciation, valentines) would be an easy way to do this as a business a little bit and then expand into taking orders, cakes, etc later. But trying to do a price check it seems insane, was also seeing like $50/box which is bananas. Apologies if this is a thread jack, although the quote from my wife was “I want to go into labor so I don’t have to be doing this anymore” as she hunched over the table like an angry beach ball.
My ex-wife loved high-end costume jewelry. She is/was a school teacher and wanted to get into selling the Stella & Dot jewelry as a side gig. This is very similar to selling other stuff at home parties, etc. You have to buy some stock up-front at a heavy discount and then sell that along with taking orders from a catalog. You then build your business from there and "recruit" other sellers so that you can get a percentage of their sales.
Ex-wife: I am interested in selling jewelry.
Me: Ok. What does it require?
Ex-wife: You have to buy stock up front to sell.
Me: Why do you want to do this? Is it to make extra money or for you to get more jewelry to wear at a discount?
Ex-wife: I think that it would be fun.
Me: Ok as long as when you get tired of doing this gig you are not in the red.
Ex-wife: (in a huff reply) Why are you saying no?
Me: I did not say no. I just want to make sure that you are not upside down when you decide to quit doing this.
Ex-wife: (angrily) Fine. Have it your way. I will not do it.
Narrator: A couple of years later she does it. Care to take a guess?

I guess what I'm wondering is if any one of these brands tends to have more problems more so than others? Contextually, I've heard the negative reviews on Ford with all their recalls. Similar with the death wobble on GM trucks. Is it all just the hum drum of folks pimping their own brand?
I have a 2020 Texas Edition Z71 1500 Silverado LT 4WD Crew Cab with a few trim package upgrades. I have over 85,000 miles on it. I drive it everywhere. I have driven up to Vermont and all along the eastern seaboard. Have driven it to Wyoming and the Dakotas numerous times and out west to Utah, Colorado, NM, and Arizona several times. It rides like a charm. So comfortable.

I dunno, but "She" seems like she has man-like hands and narrow-ish hips, facial features that seem like she could possibly be a dude.
Not that there's anything wrong with that...if so.
My thoughts too. It is a dude.

I need to buy these in bulk to hand out at our local Brookshire’s grocery store.
They look much more professional than the 3M post-it notes that I leave on the windshield.
