  1. Yep. Remember Lando’s complaints in Austria? He was totally unconfident in the car even stopping.
  2. Fucking lol. Alex Palou part 2???
  3. All George is saying there is that he thinks the new TD will slow RB and Ferrari down a little (through he does then hedge a little bit), and it probably will at least a small amount.
  4. NoName and Burt Macklin, FBI are both correct. The new regs are a double edged sword, because while it is much easier to follow other cars now, the slipstream effect is MUCH less as well, so they still currently either need to use DRS or have a lot of tire offset to actually pass in many cases.
  5. Sounds like he wanted more than a 1 year deal which Alpine wouldn’t do because of Piastri. Which is fair, since they aren’t fighting for wins anyway and he wants a big salary, and Alpine does want Piastri in the car sooner rather than later.
  6. It is how the overtaking regulations from earlier in the season are written. He was trying to play to that. Most people would agree that it wasn’t a reasonable overtake attempt, but I see what he was trying to do.

I still use a Spin Clean. For the stylus I use a magic eraser cube. Just lower it onto it a few times with the cueing lever.

I did it as I got into collecting, luckily, so I didn’t have to go back and do it all at once.
  9. The 2012 has a few durability upgrades over the older one, too, so that’s nice.

Mine is pretty high, but it’s pretty inflated by my rougher copies of rare stuff.
  11. 1) Yes, if the teams wish to take it (they are on different PU schedules sometimes, though). Remember though that other teams may not be able to run the PU to the same standard depending on individual cooling capacity, layout, etc. 2) No, they are still currently on their second components, and penalties start after your third. Going back to 1, look here at how McLaren has their intercoolers setup. Instead of using an air-to-water heat exchanger right at the exit of the compressor, like the rest of the Merc teams, they use twin air-to-air intercoolers in the sidepods (see the gold and black pipes). Seems weird that they would do this, and it may mean that they can’t run the engine the same. Or maybe they can but it makes less peak power. We don’t really know, but it seems less efficient. Something like this (not my drawing, though it is wonderful):
  12. Red Bull even warned Checo to try not to overtake there on lap one, apparently.
  13. Yeah, we really need a rework of these rules, but it’s also a double edged sword. If you have set rules of engagement, they will be pushed to the edge and over and you get the racing to the apex block passes we have now (and I really don’t like this). If you don’t give blanket rules, then drivers kind of don’t know what is a penalty and what isn’t, but to be honest it has worked for decades until now, and it isn’t like they are enforcing the existing rules consistently anyway.
  14. So yeah, looks like it will be a battle to see who gets the McL seat in 2024. I do wonder if Palou made the move solely because of a chance to get that seat, or if CGR did something he didn’t like. I know they (CGR) put out a statement with a fake quote from him, but at that point he had already signed with McLaren.
  15. So Herta did enough testing the last few days to get a Super License, now this…… https://www.mclaren.com/racing/team/indycar-champion-alex-palou-join-mclaren-racing-2023/ Big hmmmmm.
  16. They’d love the sustainable fuel part, not the V10 part.
  17. The sustainable fuel engines would be great, but you’d still lose the big manufacturers. I mean, I guess Ferrari would stay, but I don’t think Renault, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, Honda etc. are going to want to really do that.
  18. The L100 were the consumer version of John B. Lansing’s original great design, the 4310 studio monitor. He later on he went to Pioneer to design the HPM-100. The L100 Classic are just modern reproductions of them. They are pretty well loved.
  19. It is definitely considered a “4x4 only” road, I’m just talking some shit. A body on frame 2WD truck can typically do it just fine. I have done it in 2WD a few times myself.
