Holy shit, I've never heard this story.  Had to look it up on Wikipedia.

For years many people would call Matamoros "Mata-wetos".

I went to South Padre for spring break when I was at UT a couple of years. We went to Matamoros one year on our 1st night. Got a shitty motel in Brownsville and walked across to the Corona Club if memory serves. It was worth doing once to say we went but SPI was a better experience. The next day, we went again hungover and ate lunch at some spot there. If only I actually had money in school; might have been able to stay in better places...

Sadly kids today can't wander into Mexican border towns due to safety issues...

I was on the street in Matamoros the night the Mexican cannibal / Satanic drug gang took Mark Kilroy and rendered him into stew and jewelry. They tried to take my best friend, but he fought them off. He told us about before we even crossed back into Texas, much less before we even knew Kilroy was missing. Meanwhile, I was feet away, making out with the woman who is now my wife. Fucking TWISTED night.

That is insane!!! I was in HS in San Antonio when that happened and that was HUGE news.

Vue does have LHN, but DTVNow does not.

Is this confirmed? Google searches are conflicting. I don't see it on the list of programs.

I have UVerse U200 with HBO with a total of 4 HD boxes and 1 dvr.  Since I have AT&T for my cell, I get HBO free + $25 off Uverse.

But my total bill is $122.

I'm thinking of dropping UVerse and going PS Vue.  The GUI on UVerse sucks.  I think that's one of the biggest problems that the cable companies have; their GUIs suck.  It's so much easier to browse Amazon or Netflix. I accidentally ran across "The Town" on IFC a few weeks ago and was like "I can watch this".  I saw it was coming on later that day and I DVR'ed it.  But if I didn't go down on my channel button instead of up, I woudln't have known.

The only issue I have with Vue is my gameroom is far from my router.  I recently bought a Netgear Nighthawk router which sends a better signal than the AT&T router but the tv up there uses a cable box.  Now that would have to stream.  How will that be for an 84" projection screen...

I’m probably outnumbered on this, but dry fit shirts feel clammy to me. I’ll take cotton or cotton blend any day.

Edit:  Clammy on me. I’m not feeling you on a hot day.

Bunch of different types of dry fit. I have some that I don't like the feel of.

This Peter Millar version is super soft and is a blend. I have it and love it.  I wish they had it in white...

These seems like a pretty low number. Right?

Sorta makes sense considering that this year was our 1st Big12 title since 2011...

  6. I didn't know that Taylor Jungmann was out of MLB. Yomiuri Giants now.

Huston Street, I'm pretty certain is retired now.  His last couple of seasons ended on injury.  I have seen him at various kid sports activities around town.  I think he's coaching for his kids now. Great career though.

captain american there used a pocket knife and a rake?  good for him.  can't the heads still bite after being cut off?

I didn't see it but I think they pinned it with a big pool rake...

Luckily the pool was nearby to put out the fire from the flamethrower you surely used.

A rake and pocket knife got it.

and that was the best picture you got?

I have a picture of the dad who killed the snake holding it up but I didn't know if I should post that...

Did it rattle or did someone just have keen eyesight?  Because it is easier to spot Bert than the snake in that picture.

No rattle. My son's friend dropped his towel in there and went to grab it and saw the snake. LUCKY.

  11. We were at our neighborhood swim meet yesterday and my son and one of his buddies were about a foot from a rattlesnake. They were in the pool grounds but there is a rock garden that surrounds the pool on one side.  The snake had ventured under the fence and was not on the pool decking but within the fence.

Picture below taken from outside the pool looking into the pool decking (snake is in the middle).  My 9 year old was sitting on the concrete block.  I helped get the kids away (and yes the kids wanted to get close and look) and a couple of dads were able to kill it after the kids were far enough away. Crazy.  They were too close for comfort.

Just a plain, Longhorn polo shirt in true burnt orange.  No logos on the front. No stripes, no candy ass crap.  This is close but needs to be darker.

Dry fit though. I used to wear t-shirts to games but it's just too damn hot. I have a few dry fit UT polos that I wear...  For me the issue is finding ones where the sleeves aren't too long.

  13. I finished it a couple of nights ago.  It was awesome.  The fighting scenes in the tournament sucked tho.  That tournament really went downhill.  The dudes in the original were bad-ass; now we have HAWK making the semis?  Ha.

Watching Johnny Lawrence deal with 2018 is good stuff.

It was a great series and I'm bummed that I have to wait for Season 2.

  14. I've hemmed & hawed on this too long.  At our old house, I had an offset smoker that I used a ton (mostly to just grill but smoke probably 2x per year).  We moved almost 3 years ago and our new house had a built-in Napolean stainless steel propane grill.  The offset smoker was custom-made by my brother-in-law and he put it on a center pole and we buried an aluminum pole in my old backyard and slid it onto.  I moved the grill but never could agree with my wife where to put it.  I ended up giving it to my old man to take it to my uncle's ranch near Del Rio.

I miss grilling on fire and we agreed on the BGE.  I have an opening spot in our outdoor living deal where I currently have a mini fridge.  It's not even plugged in though because it doesn't keep beer as cold as my garage fridge does and the garage fridge might be 40 feet away with a door there too.. So I am going to take out the mini fridge and have a guy cut the counter top and put a BGE in there as well as a masonry base for it to sit on.  The opening is the perfect size for the Large size (I measured my neighbor's BGE like 5 times).

So here's the question... when I go to a BGE "dealer" are the prices all the same?  There is one about 6 miles from me and they deliver free in a 10 mile radius.  I am thinking of going in today during lunch to take a look.  Tips?

Two relatively new podcasts worth a listen -

American History Tellers has done two series so far, first on the Cold War. And currently wrapping up Prohibition.

Business Wars has tackled Blockbuster v Netflix, Adidas v Nike, and is starting Marvel v DC.

    Highly recommend both.

This thread got me on Business Wars.  Entertaining, like listening to an e-book.

But it has so much fluff.  It does so on purpose but enough already.

  16. My old man knows where the cheapest gas is within a 10 mile radius.  I wonder if he has an app that sends him a text every morning.  He might not even need gas but he knows.

When I visit him, on the way out he also lets me know where the cheap gas is.
