Both the Senate and the House have the Constitutional right to expel any member. It requires two-thirds of the members (in the respective body) to agree on expulsion.
Democrats don’t have the backbone to do the right thing. Repubs would never consider expelling a corrupt Repub-since corruption is a feature not a bug for the modern Republican Party.

I actually fucking love that idea. "America's Bi-Partisan Gitmo for Crooked Fucks." I'd send in $1000 extra tax dollars to see that exact prison 1) constructed and 2) used for the stated purpose.
No need for new construction. Send them to Gitmo.

Krugman is intentionally trolling the rubes on Elon’s message board
And—somewhat technically—disinflation slowed last month, which indicates inflation slightly increased its pace
tldr-disinflation is not deflation; disinflation requires increasing inflation, but at a slower pace. Krugman buried the lede to bait low information readers. Bad form by Krugman.

Was he the one that said letting the 2003 Bush tax stimulus expire for top earners in 2010 to cut the deficit and fund a payroll tax cut would be "punishing success?" Oh, wait, no - that was @washparkhorn

This near-billionaire thinks labor is getting too uppity and needs more beatings.

Core CPI up 0.3% M/M. Headline came in as expected at 0.6%.
USD remains King, but giving some ground to the Yen for those reading the tea leaves as suggesting there will be a defense of the Yen against the USD.
Germany looking at GDP contraction. China remains dour. Oil threatening stagnation in non-US economies. Labor is being set up as patsies in any downturn.

Good legal advice for Chesboro from criminal defense attorneys at Big Law Jenner and Block.
https://www.justsecurity.org/88068/a-letter-to-kenneth-chesebro-on-pleading-guilty/
As an appellate lawyer, you have probably not spent much time, or any time at all, inside a prison. But as seasoned defense counsel and former prosecutors, we have. Believe us when we tell you that prison is not where you want to spend any amount of time, much less a minimum of five years or the rest of your life.
. . .
QuoteNow, you and your counsel may be thinking that we are underestimating what appears to be your current strategy: exercising your speedy trial rights in Georgia (hoping to put the prosecutors back on their heels) and picking a jury with at least one sympathizer, all with the aim of an acquittal or a mistrial. Next, according to your apparent strategy, is hoping for a Republican victory in the 2024 presidential election — even better if it is Trump. That Republican president thencould appoint an Attorney General who would shut down Special Counsel Jack Smith’s federal prosecutions and investigations. Or that the president could issue pardons to anyone charged or convicted by that point.
While this strategy is ambitious and might hew to your political preferences, as lawyers it feels more like magical thinking. There are too many contingencies here for our comfort level, especially when confronted with something as paramount as your liberty. Call us cowards, but when focusingonly on your liberty interest, unclouded by the blush of your political indignation or any concern with the future ambitions of Trump, we would chart a more conservative path. And remember, if only one of these things goes against plan, you will likely find yourself in prison: If you are convicted in Georgia or another state, neither Trump nor any other president can pardon you for astate conviction. Indeed, if Trump were elected, the Georgia case and any other state criminal procedures might pause for him for four years while you and other defendants are left holding the bag. If you are acquitted in Georgia, but convicted in the federal case and a Democrat is elected, you will likely land in prison. A future DOJ might well reopen what it considers a righteous case shut down for political reasons, especially since the Special Counsel obviously believes you engaged in myriad crimes.

THE WORKERS IN AMERICA ARE EARNING A LARGER SLICE OF THE NATIONAL OUTPUT (IE THEIR WORK) THAN OECD, SCANDINAVIANS, AND THE WORLD OVER, YOU UNDEREVOLVED PROTOZOA.
Thats the point of that graphic. Jesus braindead Christ if you look at that graphic (where America and EU are shaded darkest) and interpret it negatively where American "serfs" are not getting enough.... i'm sure the opposite-shaded countries would be much more accomodating to your class waring beliefs.
Is your tremendous stupidity the reason why you hate meritocracy so much?
Plutocracy fetish?
Adam Smith: “The disposition to admire, and almost to worship, the rich and the powerful, and to despise, or, at least to neglect, persons of poor and mean condition is the great and most universal cause of the corruption of our moral sentiments.”

The hike in interest rates has added trillions in interest income—which is making its way through the economy and contributing to job gains. The rate hikes juice the economy.
The Money Velocity of the interest income juicing will determine its inflationary impact.
