David Brooks prefers a nation where the mee-maws don’t have to explain their actions in high school.Â

Loved it. As with most Nolan movies, the lack of chronological fidelity is a feature, not a bug. The Red hysteria of the moment was well depicted—as highlighted by Emily Blunt’s evisceration of the prosecutor. Florence Pugh earned consideration for a supporting actor nomination. The sound illustrated fission—explosive and bonds—masterfully.Â
ÂIt is not a film for the average Marvel brain. Kubrick would have enjoyed it.

Trimmed mean PCE inflation at 4.24% annualized for June from the Dallas Fed.  Trimmed = removing the most extreme increases and decreases—similar to removing outliers as inflation rolls through different sectors.
The delayed effect of interest rate increases are beginning to rattle through the economy. The tricky part is determining when to pause or lower rates. Hold the rate too high for too long and the economy stalls.

Israel
in Cloak Room
The pro-democracy Israelis, which include a large swath of those in the military, deserve support. The worst of Israel (the far right) support the de-democratization of Israel. If it leads to civil war, I am not sure the military will side with Netanyahu.Â
ÂThe global surge towards right wing authoritarianism continues as the domino effect takes hold.Â

I forgot to mention, the chart posted recently about CEO compensation that started this tangent - it's no coincidence that it went parabolic after 1971.   It would be interesting to see that chart overlayed with charts of the Fed's balance sheet and/or the money supply.
The Friedman Doctrine (1970, the sole social responsibility of business is to increase profits) provided the excuse; executives gaming the system was the result.Â

There's plenty to bitch about in 303 without making up conspiracy theories about collateral matters.Â
“Perpetrating a fraud on the court” remains an ethical violation for attorneys and grounds for dismissal with prejudice of a case in Colorado.Â

This is just nonsense. As I have said repeatedly, the DJ Act is often a friend of the civil libertarian. It's not a flaw in the system. You are again whinging about something you don't understand.
You're absolutely correct about the First Amendment things. The government has no business telling people what to print or not print, no matter how benign the motive today, it's a tool of fascism tomorrow.
With all due respect given your experience in intellectual property law where declaratory judgment is common, you are gaslighting a little bit here. Your point is well taken, but does not address the concern over a Court gone awry.
State courts generally use wholesale sorting for preventative actions (e.g., declaratory judgment).t” The class of cases is well defined (e.g., an action to quiet title) and the trial court is afforded little discretion in accepting cases outside the identified groups. Â
Access to Federal District Courts for preventative actions (outside of certain areas, including patent law) depends on retail sorting—with all the attendant problems including forum shopping.
In the present case regarding free speech, we see one the problems of retail sorting. A litigant, who never produced wedding websites, lied about a real person to allege he requested a marriage website. The case is built on a lie. It undermines the public’s trust in the judiciary.Â
