Actually, Utah has a better penetration within not only it's home state, but also quite popular in surrounding state as well...

I'm not opposed to an alliance in the XII & PAC, as it basically does many of the same things as a merger...

What I am opposed to that i deem "stupid" or a lack of foresight, is allowing the schools to be split between the leagues to the east, in the B1G & SEC...

Having either/ or both situations where a merger or alliance is formed, and keeping rivalries with Tech/ Kansas/ Iowa State/ TCU & both UT & OU as conference rivals, is far better than repeating the same steps made in the late 1980's and early 1990's... And it basically ensures that neither the XII or PAC wind up at the whims of the networks as to who makes the cut...

Edit: The PAC & XII alliance guarantees that (in the case of a XII vs PAC conference championship game), the winner & loser both have a NY6 bowl...

No they don't, it's not even close.  Utah is still dominated by BYU.  And BYU vastly outnumbers Utah in the surrounding states as well, including California.

Bingo.  Texas will always be Texas, OU will always be OU, USC will always be USC and Rutgers will always be Rutgers.  The biggest place the money will make a difference is between the G5 and P5 schools.  It is going to be very difficult for G5 schools to do what TCU and Utah have done.  UCF, UH, CSU and Cincy are all trying to spend their way into the P5 but I'm not sure it can be done anymore.

What did Utah do besides have 2 great seasons and benefit from the 2002 Olympics building up their small stadium?  And their fanbase is confined to a small pocket around the SLC area where they are #2 in their own state.

Not Dragon's Tail.  The really high one in the middle that had three slides.  I think 2 required inner tubes.  One of the slides was pitch-dark - it may have been called the "Black Hole".  Anyway, I recall not being too fond of making the climb up the stairs because the damn thing swayed in the wind.

Y'all remember the inner tube ride on the far side of the park?  It was awesome.  You'd go down in steps, spend some time in a pool, then a life guard would push you on your way.  The finale was a very large and wide concrete drop.

It was the black hole, but I thought that was the Wet n Wild in Arlington?

I'm still amazed at the number of people that go on a vacation in Mexico.  Aren't there plenty of other beaches in North America where you're not warned to never leave the resort?

I tried not leaving the safe confines of the Compton/Long Beach resort.

Wife and I plan on retiring to our mountain house someday, but I think I'll always want somewhere to go during mud season, so we will always have a place in Denver as well.  Probably downsize our current house when the kids move out (if they move out).

I'm much more at peace in the mountains than I am in Denver.  Just a different pace of life.

You might like Fair Play (aka, South Park).  It's up in the mountains west of Denver.

t-5 years from punching out.  moving to a small town in the ozarks.  will be within an hour of high quality medical and food/shopping.  thats about perfect for me.  im not tell where either, dont need any more assholes.

    Moving to eastern Mobilehoma?

  7. I grew up in Quinlan, east of DFW.   After living there, I could never do small town life again.  I'm not much of a city guy either, so I prefer suburbs and college towns.  Ideally though, I prefer the village-like life of Europe and the UK over anything else.

Ex-wife's parents lived in St. George. I'd rather take a kick to the balls than live there.

St. George is actually kind of nice.  Lots of outdoorsy things to do in that area and the town itself is decent.

One day I plan to live in a small hill country town during hunting season and a small mountain town in Colorado or Wyoming the rest of the year.  I have zero desire to live in a big city forever.

I could do the Ft. Collins area.

St. George has like 150k in the metro area.

I mean living in a cabin in the Dixie National Forest, or in a town near Zion like Hurricane, La Verkin, or Toquerville.

I realize most people still wouldn’t want to live there, but I enjoy all the recreation available.

St. George is a retirement hotbed.  Lots of people moving there to retire, either from out of state or up in Northern Utah.

Weird.  It isn't your common or garden megachurch.  First, it's a legit denomination.  Second, he has actual degrees in actual theology from actual schools.  Finally, it's only 14,000, less than a quarter of Second Baptist, or Osteen's Lakewood.

    None of that means anything..
