  1. Looks like they released s3 tonight instead of tomorrow. Here I go!

The recap of s1 and s2 was very good but it's a bit hard to find. The episode is Season 3 episode 0. You currently need to scroll to the end of season 3 episodes to find it.

Saw the preview of season 3 and it seems they're finally driving headfirst into the supernatural.

  2. I didn't bid on it, although for the selling price I almost wish I did- Even though I have no space, tools, or know how.  Interested to hear thoughts about how ya'll would mod it to make it functional.  These kind of trucks come up from time to time but I've never seen it done.

This could become a "Cinderella" story of the year, if the Gophers sweep the B1G west/ face Ohio State in the B1G conference championship game...

Let's tap the brakes here.  It's a very young team and they're going to lose games- maybe even as many as they win.  There's no doubt that he has them going in the right direction though.

I couldn't deal with his schtick every day, but one of the cool things he has going is that,  because he is so unabashedly transparent about who is,  he doesn't have to waste time with recruits who aren't quite sure if he and his "culture" are for them.  You love him or you hate him.  You are drawn by it or repulsed by it.  No in between. That allows him to fill his draft classes very quickly.

  4. I love scholarship announcements and Fleck does them better than anyone.  We should have a dedicated thread for these but we don't, so here:

In case you didn't catch it, this is Freshman Walk-on starter at QB giving the news to his Walk-on older brother.

  5. Jimmy G looks better than the result.  He's without his best receiver, doesn't know what he has in RBs, and is playing what is arguably the best D in the league, in what is arguably the hardest visiting stadium in the league.

  6. I thought it was more like the ghost written ones- at least Greaney's, which are pretty good.  To that end, I'm wondering why they didn't just make the show for Jack Ryan Jr. instead of Sr.  The timeline would be correct, as would the fact that Jr. is a financial guy who morphs into a field operative.  He also answers to Clark- who is a lot more like the TV show's Greer than the books' Greer.  The other characters of "The Campus" could have been written in seamlessly too.

As for the show, I liked it enough to have finished it quickly but only, I think, because I mentally dissociated it with the Clancy universe after a few episodes.  I knew when they set it current day that it wasn't going to be super true to the books but I guess I was hoping for something closer to what Amazon did with Michael Connelly's Bosch series, where plenty of concessions are made but the core personalities and story-lines are true to the novels and woven together nicely.
