  1. Hey y’all, Troy Nehls is here to say that he doesn’t think it was a “good shoot” because she was unarmed. And despite being cleared by the internal investigation, Troy is doing his own “deep dive”.

‘He shot and killed an unarmed person’: Rep. Troy Nehls questions Capitol police officer’s actions in Jan. 6 shooting

Get fucked Troy. You’re just trying to normalize insurrection.

I want to thank each and every one of you in advance who are going to this game and roasting your nuts surrounded by concrete and metal so I can sit in my 70 degree home and watch it. My comfort and convenience would not be possible without your suffering. I salute you

You'll be listening to Brando, so you're suffering will be worse than deez roasted nutz.

  3. Oh, one other salient detail from that story:

    Quote

He tested positive for COVID-19 July 9, was hospitalized and admitted to the ICU July 15, and was sedated and intubated and placed on a ventilator Aug. 1. He later developed a secondary infection he’s still wrestling with as of Aug. 23, court records say.

Dude has been taking up an ICU bed for 6 weeks and counting, and has been on a vent for a month. I hope the hospital offers to give him the horse paste on the condition that he vacate the ICU.

Julie Smith found Ivermectin on her own and connected with Dr. Fred Wagshul, an Ohio physician who her lawsuit identifies as “one of the foremost experts on using Ivermectin in treating COVID-19.” He prescribed the drug, and the hospital refused to administer it.

So if Dr. Quack lacks privileges at the hospital where the patient is currently being cared for, how or why would him prescribing ivermectin have any binding effect on that same hospital? The medical staff at the admitting facility are responsible for the patient, but their professional medical opinions regarding the standard of care can simply be disregarded by a judge who is swayed by some kook who isn't even on staff? Lovely.

  5. One of the "Celestial Suites" in what used to be Roy Hofheinz's Astrodome Hotel, across from both the Dome and Astroworld. There was a whole floor of themed suites and one of them for a time was the world's most expensive hotel room. I guess this is the circus one, but they also ancient Rome, Wild West, London Palace, etc. The hotel is now a boring Crowne Plaza; these suites are all locked up with most of those furnishings still inside. It's been like that for a while -- some reporter got to see them a couple of years ago and there are still phone books and matchbooks and ashtrays in all the rooms.

Hofheinz was big on themed stuff. The dome had a bunch of themed skyboxes as well. Must’ve been some top notch debauchery going on up there back in the day.

I'm sure I don't remember what you are talking about.

The spot I liked after college was Ale House (W Alabama and Kirby).  It's where I ran my first "$150+ oh shit I can't afford this" tab.  Whatever, it was worth it.

Hopefully your "holy fucking shit, I spent how much?" tab was at TMC or Treasures.

  7. It's hard to keep up with all of them because they seem to be happening damn near every day, but this road rage incident from a few days ago seems to have slipped through the cracks.

Amazing that an 8 yr old and a 6 yr old somehow managed to safely maneuver a vehicle off of I-10 and stop it at a place where they could get help.

  8. He put it on the special session call.  I would be utterly unsurprised if the Lege takes that opportunity to ban all requirements of any vaccine by anyone.
Because remember, it always gets worse and there is no bottom.

Well sunovabitch…here I was imagining the mental gymnastics that our SCOT jurists would perform to defend this executive order against efforts to challenge other vaccines. I had not considered our lege getting involved to do something even more absurd.

Any way to invoke federal jx to try to restore some sanity?
  9. So does this order establish a precedent for the antivaxers to argue that they can no longer be required to receive ANY vaccines? Polio, mumps, measles, hpv…etc.

Because that crowd will definitely try to expand the “personal choice” rationale to challenge other vax requirements.

  10. The makers of ivermectin need to put that shit in a giant livestock-sized suppository. Then we'll see who's really about it when they have to jam a monster energy can up their ass.

Some people (aggy) pay double for that kind of action, Cotton.

I'm not sure they've announced anything. Weren't students required to get 1 test at the beginning of the semester?

UT and any organization in Texas has to balance the safety of their people and pissing off the state GOP leadership. Say that the major colleges in Texas all required vaccinations and/or a recent test. It's possible Abbott could punish them by not allowing more than 20K in a college stadium.

UT also has a problem with high level donors imposing their will on the athletic dept. "I have to get a test? I will keep my $1m check this year."

Students that were Big Ticket holders last season had to be tested before each game in order to get their ticket.

  12. I’ve been to every MLB park (and several minor league parks), and Dodger stadium is by no means the “best” in my opinion. Not trying to piss in your Cheerios Bruin.

  13. This one seems fishy. A couple of robbers would have better odds of a bigger score if they simply went a couple of blocks west and waited for some unsuspecting housewife to waltz out of Tiffany or something. Doing it in daylight when the odds of them being identified would be higher, also seems odd.

I wonder if it was a hit on the cop with a few wallets/watches/whatever lifted in the process to provide a smokescreen.
