  1. saw the rodeo boys last night. discovered them last sxsw and thought they were excellent. definitely a 90's throwback guitar rock sound with some great bass lines. they played at 6:30pm opening for a bunch of shitty pop punk bands but there was a decent crowd there, hopefully they gained some fans. said they'll be back for sxsw this year.

  2. pterry's at capital plaza is the only one i ever frequent and i haven't noticed any decline. it's as mediocre as ever but is perfect for a late night burger and is about 1000x faster than whataburger.

this syd barrett box set finally arrived last week. syd really wrote some striking, unique music. there are some genuinely good songs and also some songs that sound like the ramblings of a man going insane. i'm glad gilmour was patient enough to work with syd and produce these albums, his accounts of these sessions sound very frustrating but ultimately produced some worthwhile albums.

  5. Floor is the only way to go at the moody center if you are willing to stand the whole time. Sound down there is great. We started in section 111 and the sound was good, moved over to 107 and the view was better but there was definitely a lot of echo. I've never had a problem finding my seats, it tells you which portal to use on your ticket and finding your section seems pretty straightforward from there.

  6. Got dragged to the national by the lady friend. That crowd was terrible. So many people talking through the music and endless arguments about people standing up. We moved to one of the empty sections on the side a few songs into the set. I generally find the national very boring. Live show was slightly better but still didn't do much for me.

I am heading to BB tomorrow with friends.. We have South Rim, Santa Elena Canyon, and McDonald Observatory on the agenda..

I have a question about Ernst Tinaja.. I have a 2wd Ford Expedition.. Is this sufficient to drive on the road to access this trail? I took the same vehicle down Old Maverick Rd last year, no issues..

yes, just take it slow and you'll be fine.
