Yeah I guess my take is while I like to laugh at marks of the snake oil sales man, they are still marks. In this case, I do feel some sadness for them. It's their choice, but do they know what they're actually buying. I don't know the answer.

I'm not feeling sad for dudes getting paid to play football and slay Colorado co-eds.

    Random Rant Incoming/

Maybe it's from a place of privilege that I speak these things but I think it's pretty gross the youth, especially those who are poor, are being manipulated and conditioned to think that their aspirations should be to accumulate a bunch of money so they can buy gaudy things and garish clothing. That these kids think their identities are tied to a) their skill on the field and b) their ability to spend a crap ton of their money earned on a bunch of high fashion house clothing, is kind of sick and to lean into that feels predatory.

I mean the richest man in the world, depending on the fiscal quarter and stock price, is the old French white guy who somehow convinced the world, from the poors to the upper middle class and rich, that a brown bag with LV stamped all over it was peak fashion.

Good for him on the grift, I guess (and I fully admit to being part of the problem and acknowledge that my wife has a whole side closet dedicated to her half dozen Louis' purses, clutches, crossbodies, handbags and dustbags for the various seasons, etc.).

But.... When you were young and starting out did you not aspire to earn as much as possible so you could provide for your own wants too? I mean, that's why they play the game to begin with isn't it? If they want LV and gaudy bullshit then let them buy it. They're paid to entertain us so let them spend their money however they want. Just sayin...

the worst part is these sluts will get $10,000 a month or whatever and will be broke AND in debt about time the kids turn 7 and he gets out of pro sports and is also broke

they will not out a damn dime away, will spend it all, and will run up credit cards, car loans, and mortgages they can never afford.....and will of course have no education and no job skills either

Well, they'll have nice things for a little while at least 🤷‍♂️

  4. Fucking Buccees. That place pushes me to the edge of an anxiety attack. The only times I've ever been they are packed, not like Lane's pic above...

Was in Springfield, MO about 4 weeks ago and wife wanted to see the new one there. People walking everywhere through the parking lot and no one apparently knows that it is poor form to leave your car at the pump after pumping your gas at a busy gas station.

i heard he put this on his own vehicle:

and considers himself a sovereign citizen.

For some reason body cam footage of these traffic stops where followers of this movement end up getting their windows smashed and drug out of their "private conveyances" began popping up on my youtube homepage. I find them highly entertaining. And the courtroom videos as well.

JFC. Being in your circle seems to be a bad omen.

Ehh... The first two is just the result of growing up in a small town, you can't help but know most people close to your age.

The second two are on my brother in law. Shit, I just remembered that his little sister's first husband was also murdered a few years after they got married, about 17ish years ago. I think over a bad drug deal. All of those were in the Houston area.

  7. This guy I knew in high school, he would hang out with us sometimes, had a couple of friends over at his house one afternoon just sitting around smoking weed. He got out his grandpa's sawed off shotgun and it accidentally went off while he was fucking around and he killed a girl. He got convicted as an adult with murder 2 because it was an illegal firearm. Served 15 or 16 years I think.

A couple of years ago, another guy I knew growing up committed suicide by cop. I don't know how it all went down but somehow he ended up in a standoff on a county road surrounded by LEO. He was standing in the road with his bow (yeah I dunno, but Guy was standing there with his hunting bow) and he drew an arrow and took aim at one of them.

My brother in law's brother was shot and killed by his next door neighbor a few years ago, just before Christmas. From what I know they had a longstanding feud with multiple ongoing arguments and a few fistfights, lots of intervention from law enforcement. The night it happened the neighbor came over and was yelling at our man from the front yard. Brother went outside to run him off and was shot dead right there. His wife had started videoing it when the neighbor first showed up because of the history and was about to call the cops on the neighbor again, it was all on her video.

Last week on Christmas Eve, (from the same sister and brother-in-law) my nephew's girlfriend's brother was murdered by some guy that told the cops he "just wanted to see someone die." That guy killed two people that night.

If I schedule a surgery for someone and they end up choosing another surgeon after I've put in all that work, after they acted all interested in my work at our last visit,  after I reserved time on my limited OR schedule for them, I usually go out of my way to lie about their family so as to ruin their family business. Because professional blah blah blah. Some people need to push back from the keyboard and take time to reflect on what they've chosen to defend. Really.

Notice for Sooners and aggy who might have missed it: this post contains sarcasm.

    No you don't.

You send that guy's insurance an itemized bill adding up to $12,000 but then settle with them for like 400 bucks. At least that's what my doctors do...

Yeah. As does the Toyota 1.1 Million airbag recall.

The thing is that they both have a very good track record of doing their due diligence of actually fixing their vehicles when they are told they have a big problem. And they don't cover up the fact that they have problems, so I know they are going to fix it.

Tesla ... yeah, see what Reuters said.

Toyota and Honda aren't squeaky clean but you're right, when called out on their shit they mostly take their lumps and move on. I don't think they'd have the balls to blame a customer for a wheel falling off on a brand new car with 100 miles on it.

yeah. if you think Spavital is why those guys left you must be new to CFB. that wasn't a Spav issue, that was a Sumlin issue.

Sumlin had a strip club in the coach's lounge. Sounds to me like something was wrong with Kyle/Kyler.

According to FIL, there wasn't a discussion about "how", just "who".

I guess George had some extra explosives from a previous project, and did some sort of calculation about "x amount blows up a stump, so 100x amount should take care of things".
