Was driving down Lovers Lane just east of the Tollroad yesterday and see some place called Fajita Pete's going in there. Googled and it looks like it might've started in Houston based on the number of locations down there. There are two locations in North Dallas. Anybody ever had this?

I worked by the North Dallas location on Campbell and had lunch there a few times. it's typical Tex-Mex, nothing outstanding about it, but not bad either.

Family of Dallas woman conceived through 'fertility fraud' files lawsuit against OBGYN

DALLAS - A Dallas woman says she’s the product of 'fertility fraud' after a home DNA test revealed her mother’s former doctor is her biological father. Now, her mother is suing the doctor.

It was just about a year ago that a Dallas woman says her world was turned upside down after learning her father’s true identity.

Katherine Richards is now the plaintiff in a lawsuit against a Virginia OBGYN who she says led her to believe she was receiving an anonymous donor’s sperm in 1980 after having trouble conceiving, but using his own sperm instead.

“How many others are just one Christmas DNA kit from having their lives forever changed?” Richards said.

According to the lawsuit, Julie Druyor of Dallas, Richards’ daughter, learned of the alleged deception and her father’s true identity after receiving a home DNA test kit as a gift. The test revealed she’s half Jewish, which didn’t add up with the information about the supposed anonymous sperm donor. A genealogist helped trace the dots back to the doctor.

“I’m a product of my mother’s abuser,” Druyor said. “I don’t know if I’ll ever come to terms with that.”

The lawsuit says DNA tests also confirmed the doctor used his own sperm again instead of the anonymous donor, as promised, to help Druyor's mother conceive her younger brother.

According to the suit, Druyor says the doctor passed on to her the gene for Tay-Sachs disease, a rare genetic disorder.

“Now, I have to deal with the fact that I’ve passed down his genes,” she said. “Am I going to see him in my children? I hate that I even have to think about that.”

    Druyor isn’t alone.

Bev Willhelm of San Diego is suing a doctor who once practiced in California for allegedly doing the exact same thing. Her son, James Mallas Jr. also learning of the alleged fertility fraud through a home DNA test kit.

“It turns my stomach,” Mallas Jr. said. “And to think that he did that to my own mother makes it nearly unbearable.”

As for Druyor, she’s found online support group healing with others who’ve made similar disturbing discoveries.

“Listening to other people share their stories has given me an immense comfort,” she said.

Both of these cases date back several decades. It’s unclear if one of the doctors is still practicing. FOX 4 was unable to reach him for a response. The other now appears to be a drug addiction counselor in California. His office had no comment.

  3. The ex and I opted for kids to do remote learning rather than go in person. Discovered a couple of weeks in that my son (6th grade) has a little bit of learning disabilities and is on a 504 plan, so he struggles with online learning. He easily checks out, gets up from the video chat in the middle of class, or will log off early. We've been getting an email from his math teacher at least twice a week with reports of it. We contacted the school about him possibly returning to the classroom because he will be better served there, but were informed we have to wait until the first 9 weeks have passed (started Aug 13). I'm having to work from the office 3 days a week, so cant always be there to watch him closely, plus my ex and her husband are both working remotely and can't constantly supervise. He's been staying with me the days I WFH, but even then, trying to split everything up is rather difficult. All this to say, props to you teachers, very thankful for what you do and are doing through all of this.

    GOLDEN CHICK
Fletcher’s sells an average of 500,000 Corny Dogs during the annual fair season.

Beginning Tuesday, September 1, through Sunday, October 25, Golden Chick will be serving the Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs at 187 of its restaurants throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. The limited-time offer will not be available at Golden Chick locations in Florida or South Carolina.

“Like many others, we were disappointed to hear that the State Fair was cancelled and after the year we’ve had we could all use a little comfort food,” says Jim Stevens, president of Golden Chick. “While we serve Original Golden Tenders, Fletcher’s is the creator of the Original Corny Dog, and what better way to make the two widely accessible than to serve them both at our restaurants and in our drive-thrus. We each have a presence at the annual State Fair of Texas and over 50 years of service in the Lone Star State - the partnership makes perfect sense.”

Fletcher’s sells an average of 500,000 Corny Dogs during the annual fair season. When the news broke that the state fair would be cancelled, the Fletcher’s team wheeled out their catering trucks to create pop-ups throughout North Texas to keep the tradition alive. Now with its partnership with Golden Chick, the excitement does not stop there.

"Fletcher's Original Corny Dogs at the State Fair of Texas has been a time-honored tradition for millions of Texans since 1942,” adds Aaron Fletcher on behalf of the Fletcher family. “When the news of its cancellation for 2020 hit, we knew that something had to be done to reach the hundreds of thousands of fans that would be disappointed they couldn’t get their hands on this time-honored favorite. We couldn't be more excited to team up with Golden Chick to bring our world-famous Original Corny Dogs to not just DFW, but all of Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana!"

Golden Chick has always dedicated its attention to performance, committing to speed, cleanliness and overall quality for its guests. Throughout the partnership, Golden Chick will be hosting socially distanced community events and give back initiatives.

“Our team has been working alongside Fletcher’s to ensure we are providing the same hand-battered, made to order product that would have been offered at the State Fair of Texas,” says J. Sullivan, Golden Chick’s executive chef. “Trust me when I say that Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs pair well with your Golden Chick favorites. This is a delicious collaboration and there is even more in store.”

The Original Corny Dog is available at a price of $5 and as a combo with golden fries and a drink for $7.99.

If you're in the wedding, that's the only time when it's acceptable.

I dated a girl a couple of years ago who had a  cousin that was engaged. The family had 3 separate engagement parties for them. One was catered at her parent's house complete with bartenders, servers, a celloist and piano player,  vallet parking. Pretty sure that engagement party was nicer than the wedding.

It was a weird little house built on strange angles to disorient you and they used hidden magnets to make stuff defy gravity.

I remember that, It was there as of mid-90s, but was rarely open. One time in HS, I drove there from East Texas with my cousin, but by the time we got there, it was raining like crazy. The rain cleared out by noon and we had the park nearly to ourselves. made for a good day.

If it comes in like Rita did and moves northeast after landfall (as they often tend to do), Tyler will be on the clean side.  We got some high winds and a bit of rain from Rita, but nothing catastrophic.  Definitely didn't lose power.  Main problem was the traffic getting here since so many people evacuated Houston (having just watched what happened in N.O. during Katrina).  Both 45 and 59 north were jammed even with contraflow.  My mom and sister spent 19 hours in the car driving from the Memorial area in Houston to Tyler.  They took 45 and it was slow going until they turned off in Buffalo.

I was living in Tyler when it it. My roommate was from Woodville and his parents evacuated to our place. They were not able to find a room at all in Tyler.

what's the thought on HD antennas for multiple tv's when none of the tv's are near the side of the house the local broadcast stations are located? Get an Amazon Fire Recast? It's a <10 year old house wired with ethernet and coax.

Try the locast app. Its on most devices. Somehow, I've managed to get it add free since the beginning of quarantine.

  9. I had a weird week and decided I needed to leave town. Hopped on a flight to San Antonio for the weekend and have a hotel near the Alamo. What should I do? What the hell is even open?

  10. I cant wait to see this as a movie or tv show.

My ex BIL had a bucket truck with the electric company he had just started working for. We drove it to the store one night and didn't consider the extremely low railroad bridge near his house. It pushed the bucket arm back and busted all the hydraulic lines.
