I do ours in the WSM and have followed the Franklin video method.  Really easy on the WSM.  Charcoal, wood, empty water pan.  Run all lower vents and top vent wide open.  Put it in a foil pan when the breast hits about 150 F, or so.  Slather with butter, and cover with foil until the breast temp hits 160.  I leave the skin on and it has been just right.

That's my plan and will probably just hit it with salt and pepper, considered doing the Tony's injection, but will probably keep it simple this go round and just do the 24 hour brine.

2. I've been binging the last few weeks and am enjoying it so far. I'm through the first few episodes of season 4 (trinity killer) it definitely has some cheesey moments, but that's expected for shows like this.

3. This has been my daily timewaster/entertainment source for several years. I feel like there are a lot of like-minded guys here and because of this place, I've found new movies, music, TV shows, restaurants, meals, and other random products Met a few fellow posters in person a couple of times too.

4. Never done one before, but gonna give it a go on my WSM this year. Watched Franklin's video earlier and will probably go that route. I've seen different comments about skin on vs off, but looks like in his video he left in on?

5. Thanks. The ball guide is why I haven't switched to the DI1. I've definitely pay attention to the ball guide when deciding on clubs and upgrading. My thorn has upgraded slowly so far, but I did move up to PRO 1 this week, so I've been earning cards a little bit faster.

6. At what point should I give a tournament a shot? I'm getting close to moving up to tour 5, just trying to pad my $ some first. Finally got the thorn and am loving it, it's just a slow upgrade. Also really feeling the boomerang, although I unlocked the down in one last night. I think I want to upgrade that one a level or two first before I make the switch though.

By the same token as all the chronic rehab relapsers, I have known quite a few that went to rehab "under duress," but nevertheless came around and either stayed sober or got sober again for keeps within a few months of leaving rehab.

But, it is also true that one stint in rehab rarely results in long-term sobriety.  It may take repeated stints, or a relapse or two, but it doesn't often work first shot out of the box.  I think CeleryMan is the exception that proves that rule.

It varies wildly as to what it may take to get someone to want it.  I think it is helpful to hit pause in rehab and experience the sober life for even a month or two.  It presents an alternative to the drinking life that is probably unfathomable to the alcoholic until they experience it.  Then they want to have it along with some drinks, find out that aint gonna work, and may get back to the sober life as soon as they can muster it.

This was my experience. Went to rehab and made it to a little over 100 days before going back out and thought I was the exception to the rule  and things wouldn't have progressed. Yeah..I thought wrong. That pause and glimpse of how great sober life can be was enough motivation to bring me back in.

8. I enjoyed the monologue and I love how Dave speaks his mind and doesn’t really hold back. The aunt jemimah sketch was good, rest of the show wasnt too bad to me. A few laughs here and there. Was kind of surprised to see Dave was only in two sketches. I do think he phoned in that part.

Speaking of comedians

Why doesn’t the the Comedy Store or whoever do a bubble audience and have comedians film a bunch of specials. Maybe they don’t have the material without practicing? But would it be too much of an investment to rent out a Ramada Inn and just have the same 100 person audience tested over and over again, and let comedians do work? Film specials?

I think Dave Chapelle has been organizing something like this with "Camp Chapelle". There have been comics, musicians, poets, and the like visiting his farm over the summer in front of small audiences that are tested as they enter. I think I've read somewhere that they've been filing, so it wouldn't surprise me if a Netflix special is in the works with this.

10. I'm starting to get the hang of it. I've been playing pretty consistent in tour 3 the past 2 days and feel like I'm winning 75% of my matches. I have enough bankroll to play a few rounds in tour 4 (3k Entry), but feel more comfortable staying in 3 for now to build my bankroll some more. What level should I aim to take my clubs up to? Pretty much all of them are on level 3-4 now except my rough and sand wedges. I feel like I'm in a good rhythm with my clubs at the moment, so I don't want to change too much, just hone in on my skill and build bankroll.

Callaway Golf is one of the biggest and most well-respected golf equipment makers in the world. Topgolf has established itself as a brand that successfully combines technology, entertainment and sports, attracting golfers and non-golfers alike to its 58 locations across America.

On Tuesday evening, it was announced that the two companies are merging.

“Together, Callaway and Topgolf create an unrivaled golf and entertainment business,” said Chip Brewer, president and CEO of Callaway, in a release. “This combination unites proven leaders with a shared passion for delivering exceptional golf experiences for all – from elite touring professionals to new and aspiring entrants to the game.”

Brewer will run the combined company after the completion of the merger. Dolf Berle, Topgolf’s current CEO, will continue to lead the Topgolf business through the transitional period, then step down and leave the company.

Topgolf will join Ogio, Travis Mathew and Jack Wolfskin under the Callaway brand.

Callaway made its first investment in Topgolf in 2006 and already owned 14 percent of the company. The transaction announced on Tuesday is an all-stock deal. Callaway will issue approximately 90 million shares of its common stock to non-Callaway shareholders of Topgolf based upon an implied equity value of Topgolf of $1.986 billion.

Many people’s first exposure to golf has been at a Topgolf venue, attracted by the nightclub-like atmosphere, food and drinks, high-tech games and non-competitive environment. During a conference call on Tuesday evening, Berle said all Topgolf venues in the United States had re-opened by early September. Recent operating sales are back to 80-85 percent of 2019 same-location sales. He added that 33 new venues are in the planning stages and sees approximately 200 possible locations for Topgolf venues in the United States.

Topgolf not only owns 58 locations in the United States, but it also owns Toptracer. This technology is used during television broadcasts to allow viewers to follow balls as they fly through the air. That technology is also being rolled out at driving ranges in the form of Toptracer Range, allowing golfers to see their shots’ ball flight as they practice on screens, smartphones or tablets.

Brewer said that Topgolf is ideally suited to operate within the challenges COVID-19 pandemic during the conference call. Hitting bays are spaced far apart, usually with physical barriers between groups.

Topgolf was especially attractive to Callaway because, according to Topgolf, there were 23 million visits to Topgolf venues in 2019. Fifty-one percent of the people who went to a Topgolf facility last year identified themselves as a non-golfer, but 75 percent of those people said that after visiting Topgolf, they were interested in playing golf on a course. If Callaway can develop a relationship with people as they are discovering the game and learning to love it, it has a better chance of turning those people into Callaway, Odyssey, Ogio and Travis Mathew loyalists.

The merger is expected to be finalized in early 2021.

Another article I read said they will maintain the Dallas based headquarters. I also read somewhere that one of the first ranges they built was the Dallas location.

12. Exact same thing for me, but it's a leveled up QB instead of the Big Topper.
DallasHorn26 - I don't think you should spend any more coins upgrading that Rocket - it's totally bunk.  I played against a guy today who had a lvl 10 Rocket and with it totally maxed out and full topspin, I think he could barely hit it 300 yds.

Yeah I realized that a little while ago. I’ve been sticking to the extra mile. I may take it up a level or two, but I don’t think it adds much.
13. I've been watching some old Chapelle show clips, and holy shit, just realized Bill Burr was in some of the old sketches. The racial draft, the dice world championships, the sam jackson beer commercial.

What do you guys suggest as far as clubs? Here are my two bags. I’ve been feeling pretty confident as far as bag 1 goes and haven’t really done any upgrades to them in a while, but it’s the one I play with 99.9% of the time. I’ve made bag 1 my more accurate clubs and bag 2 are really just the other ones I have unlocked along the way.
