  1. I started playing about a week ago. I'm still trying to figure out a strategy, but have unlocked up to T4, just haven't had the bankroll to play on it consistently. I'm hovering around 50% on wins and it seems like every match goes into a shoot out.  Any tips for a newbie? I've watched the ring method video and a few others but that's about it so far.

  2. It's definitely tough. I was a child of divorce and my sister definitely played my parents against each other and my dad used us as pawns to hurt my mom whenever he could. I'm going through similar with my 13 y/o daughter right now. Her mom has primary custody, but we've always been flexible on visitation, etc (the as agreed clause in the agreement), but lately she hasn't been speaking to me much and even refused to visit for a little bit. I think honestly, she's done that some to get a break from little brother and sister, but she's also manipulative and trys to play to emotions and push buttons. I'm just loving from a distance and supporting as I can. Her mom has been good about encouraging her to visit/speak without being pushy. We've also got her in counseling. It's just a tough age.

It's been over a year since I've been there, and while I wasn't blown away in 2019, it wasn't bad either (Butcher Shop).

Neely's.  Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time.  A long time.  (wife (no pics) is from Marshall.).  Have eaten there (Neeley's) in probably 20 years, but wouldn't describe the experience as life altering.

I stopped in Butcher shop a couple of times last year and was disappointed. It may be more of a nostalgia thing for me too. I grew up going there with my Dad every time we went to Longview. Jucy's has always been good.

I don't know if its still there, but was always a fan of Daniel Boone's bean n burger in Tyler.

  4. it's definitely going to be interesting to see what happens over the next year. I was thinking the other day that I've only been to maybe 4-5 movies in the past year-year and a half. While people will pay the $30 premium for a new movie, studios aren't going to be able to make their money back. We had my youngest daughter's bday party the other night and she requested a movie themed party and wanted to watch the new Mulan. We bought a $35 screen from amazon and built a collapsible PVC frame for it. Her grandparents have a popcorn machine and we bought some boxed candy to set up the concession stand. It was a semi movie theater experience for a handful of adults and a few close family friends for probably less cost than everyone going to the movie and it was fun. After that experience, id rather do that the go to the theater any more.

  5. My mom came from a blended family and was one of 6, however her biological mother had 1 miscarriage and gave 1 up for an under the table adoption. Dad was 1 of 2 though. I know 4 or 5 families (mid 30s-40s spouses) that have 5-6 kids.

One big catch seems to be that they have to select you. There aren't all that many locations in any given city, compared to most fast-food chains, and so my understanding is that they're really selective in who they choose as "operators".

That's my understanding as well. I think the guy I knew got in because he had worked in various stores for 10 or so years before applying to be an operator.

Just started this show yesterday and got through 2 episodes.  Liking it so far.  Told the wife that it looks like Barney Stinson was right about who the real Karate Kid was in the movie.

Just started season 1, and I thought the same thing. Would be funny if they could somehow do a Doogie Howser reference in season 3.

  8. Dave Chapelle's Equanimity is one of my favorites with him.

    Agreed on Delirious

Gabriel Iglesias-I'm not fat, I'm fluffy

    Brad Williams-Fun Sized-I think he's a little known comic

    Chris Rock-Bigger and Blacker

Someone upthread mentioned Kings of Comedy-Agreed. The Bernie Mack bit about his devil child niece getting cookies is  one of the best bits ever. Used to quote that one all the time.

  9. I played at Choctaw a few times last month. Had a night where I kept rolling hardways (I don't bet on them, but a lot of people where) One guy was putting A hundred on the pass then 1k on odds and I kept hitting my point. Several times during my roll, he tossed me a black chip. I slowly build up my inside bets as I'm rolling. Ended up htting THE ATS too with a $5 bet on each on. Walked away up over $1500. Nights like that don't happen often, but that's what keeps me going.

  10. Question for the experts. I've played a little in the past when I was younger, but never really fully committed to it. My youngest daughter (soon to be 10) is showing interest in playing. Her mom and I are looking into giving her a guitar and lessons for her upcoming birthday. What would you guys recommend she starts with that's not a crazy investment, but decent enough to learn on? I feel like she is pretty small for her age too, so I don't want to get her anything that's hard for her to play.

  11. I feel like a lot of games at this stadium will be pretty split as far as the crowds go. I think People will schedule Vegas trips around when their team is playing there. I could be wrong. I just don’t see this as being a big “home crowd” stadium.
