  1. My buddy swears Slow Bone is the best bbq in Dallas. He knows his shit, has run a very successful large bbq festival. Is he nuts in this?

The BBQ is very good and worth trying. Don’t know about the best in Dallas as there’s some stiff competition now. But to each his own.

Also the fried chicken is very good so the Bill Miller comparisons are probably off base. The owner does everything well. He may also have the best burger in Dallas at Maple & Motor.

  2. I am pretty sure Israel isn't using arabs as human shields.  Hamas, a terrorist organization, is using Palestinains (arabs) as human shields.
As to the Apartheid issue, what is your solution?  I am guessing your solution entails letting the Palestinians have full voting rights with a goal of taking over Israel.  That is fine but do you think they will have an issue with the Jews there?  Will they suddenly live in peace?
The problem isn't the Israelis versus the Palestinians its Hamas, a terrorist organization.  Get rid of Hamas and you can try and get a roadmap to peace.

Hamas is a proxy for Iran and their stated goal of destroying Israel. Iran provides funding, arms (rockets) and training to Hamas.

  3. I tried Old Forester 1897 BiB and McKenna 10 side by side last night. I wish 1897 took it down, but that was not the case. McKenna 10 in a landslide. 1897 has its merits, but it can't keep up with well aged Heaven Hill.

    Interesting comparison. Like them both.
I’ve gotten into my only bottle of McKenna 10 lately and can see why it’s hard to find these days. Great value for the price point.

Wish I hadn’t passed on it after seeing it all those years on the lower shelf.

  4. Anybody know when airlines change the number of miles needed for award trips. I'm guessing it's all based on number of seats sold and the like. I'm looking to book an international flight with miles and one day I'll look and "X" amount of miles are needed. I look on another day and a different number of miles are needed, sometimes higher sometimes lower, depending on the ticket class. Are there any tricks for when the lowest number is posted? Something like early Sunday morning, middle of the night, etc.? Or is it just check back often and hope to get lucky?

  5. I’d have to imagine this won’t be available in TX as you can’t buy liquor at grocery stores?

    Freakin antiquated Blue Laws.

Guess we’ll have to count on Henry G. for a review.

  6. fusion or discovery 4?  watch your step youngster.  i've never cared for remus or any of the mgp juices, and have been pretty impressed with both of the bardstown series so far, at least the ones i've tried.

Discovery 4 sadly. Maybe I got a bad bottle but was disappoint especially after the good reviews and the $100+ price point. Will try another bottle when I get a chance.

I’m 60. Does “youngster” still apply?

  7. Any thoughts on Remus Repeal Reserve III?Picked it up today for $75. Haven’t had it before.

I really liked IV. Better than Bardstown IV IMO.
