Should we call ourselves “Longhorn FC” or maybe “Longhorn United” because we want to show how united we are as fans?  I’ll hang up and listen.

Let's start refering to our jersey's as 'kits' and wear scarves to games in August!

I must have taken a wrong turn. This thread is about Texas Football game atmosphere, is it not?

Not sure what any of the soccer bullshit has to do with football. I'm sure there's an appropriate board for it. In North Korea. Fuck that lame ass sport.

Federal officials are testing the water at a Texas water park after a man who visited the park later died from what appears to be a “brain-eating amoeba,” known as Naegleria Fowleri, health officials told the Associated Press.

Fabrizio Stabile, 29, died on Sept. 21st after apparently becoming sickened by the rare brain infection once he returned from the Texas water park, according to local health officials and his obituary.

The infection typically stems from polluted water entering the body through the nose, causing extensive brain damage, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The deadly amoeba is also found in warm fresh water like lakes and rivers.

While it’s not clear exactly when Stabile visited the BSR Cable Park's Surf Resort in Waco, Texas, the park remains closed until further notice pending investigation.

Waco-McLennan County Public Health District spokesman Kelly Craine told The Associated Press on Monday that a team from the CDC conducted a range of testing at the facility after Stabile's death.

I don't think Waco is a good litmus test for college cities.

Also - it isn't just about the city. UNM isn't a great program or school and in a very meh part of the country.

If we're going to take on another bottom feeder it needs to come with better perks.

Exactly.  A two-year bowl ban, for example, should only be considered to have been enacted when two bowl-eligible seasons have passed.

Is this not the case? I assumed that for a bowl ban to work you have to be eligaile for a bowl.

Virginia Tech will unveil a bronze statue to honor former coach Frank Beamer before the Hokies' home game against Notre Dame on Saturday.

The statue, financed entirely by private gifts, will be placed at the southwest corner of Lane Stadium, and will not be placed on a pedestal. Rather, his likeness will be accompanied by a bench "where admirers can easily take a photo or spend a moment reflecting on their favorite Virginia Tech moment," the school said in a release.

Beamer will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in December. A Virginia Tech graduate, Beamer coached the Hokies for 29 seasons before retiring following the 2015 season. He currently serves on the College Football Playoff selection committee, and has kept close ties with the Virginia Tech program and current coach Justin Fuente.

I keep feeling like we have shown a better ability to run the ball than the stats have backed up. Hopefully that ends next Saturday. 20 carries for Ingram!

    Ingram is not 100%.

The dude looks closer to 80-90%.

When he's fully healthy, I think he has a real shot to be something special.

Just don't know if that's going to be this week.

On the flip side, our WRs should have success too.

OU's starting corners are 6'0. LJH is 6'4 and Johnson is 6'6. If we see single coverage on the outside we should not be afraid to throw the ball up and let our WRs make plays.

That is assuming Sam throws the ball well.... which is not a given.
