  1. It’s 95/5 on the Smooth Ambler. Not sure I loved the extra age, the MGP might be better at 8.
  2. No, but I just killed one from ‘18 or ‘19 and have a Christmas drop one sitting there ready to open so I’ll let you know. I had some 11 yr SAOS rye along with a ‘17 MBSR and ‘21 Handy last night and damn, rye kills it with Caramel Delite Girl Scout cookies. There’s something perfectly contradictory about expensive pours and $0.25 cookies.
  3. Three is strong today. Four feels average. Wordle 217 4/6 🟨⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  4. It’s crazy good for the age. This will be a banger in 4-6 years.
  5. Ha, so British today and I crushed it. Wordle 216 3/6 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟩⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  6. My starting pair were not a good match for today. Wordle 215 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟨⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  7. Those are young and decent. The 11 was great and might have been the first MGP I ever killed. 661CEAE8-E2AC-4FDB-89F8-180A2F18F427.webp
  8. Tough start and a bad late guess. I’m not proud. Wordle 214 5/6 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  9. I’ve been on this for a couple weeks and kind of like it but it’s usually a little too easy. This one was pretty hard but I had a banger of a guess on Line 3. Wordle 213 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟨⬜🟨⬜ 🟩⬜🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  10. Very nice. Manual? Crazy frost emerald color?
  11. Batch 9 of the bourbon and Batches 1-2 of the rye are bangers. I’d buy them all day long at retail. When I cracked my ‘21 Handy and wasn’t instantly in love I poured a KO Batch 1 rye to compare and it absolutely smoked the Handy. It’s pretty much my benchmark of the Kentucky style mid/barely legal rye category. And now that Stagg Jr is at KO Bourbon retail prices on secondary I’m not sure batches 9 and 10 are a bad deal at retail.
  12. I loved last years Master’s Collection No 16 and also last year’s batch proof. Regular Woodford is fine and I’ve never had Double Oaked.
  13. No need for a fancy review on this one because I can convey my feelings in just five words. LOL, WTF, do not buy.
  14. This Still Austin cask strength is the best Texas bourbon I’ve had yet. Although it’s way more of a Kentucky profile than TX style, but it hides the youth well and has some great sweet caramel and lighter fruit notes. I’m not sure I’d pick it to drink neat over most of the rest of what I have open, but it made a great toddy and I threw it in a decanter for cocktail use.
  15. Nice find there. I like their 90 proof 12 year quite a bit and haven’t cracked the cask strength yet. The 90 is up there with some of the better MGP I’ve had, but not quite Boone County good.
  16. $100 extra to lick the boat.
  17. None of this makes any financial sense beyond being my childhood dreams come true. We will be up there all summer at some point in the future and this is all setup for then. The house will be on VRBO if you want to sample the dream. Nobody touches the boat, tho.
  18. Damn, really? I have one that isn’t open because of the same reason where I tried the cask strength and didn’t like it.
  19. Holy balls, they packed it all in that trip and absolutely killed it. Ocean Sports are badass and a surgeon in Juneau keeps one a dock over from our current boat. Not sure I’d pick fiberglass over aluminum for up there because we beach ours all the time without a care. For example, I had just ramped it up on this rocky beach to let my brothers in law out to shoot a Blacktail in this pic.
  20. Juneau, none of that overcrowded Anchorage (the Houston of Alaska) area nonsense. It’s mostly protected inside waters, but I’ll always be wanting to buy another boat.
  21. Boats, man. I just found out Ski Dock is no longer an MB dealer and said it would be a year and a half to get me a new cover for my Tomcat on Travis. I’m tempted to unload it and work on trying to get a new boat for our place in Alaska. Speaking of which, I’m trying to get a 29’-31’ boat up there and the dealers are saying 12-14 months build time for something like this. What a time to be alive.
  22. Opening Weller SiB is the biggest flex in bourbon right now. Everybody knows you passed up $800 to drink Special Reserve single barrel and that’s ballsy. CYPB is at least better and also cheaper.
  23. Correct, lowest is around $800.
  24. I did one recently for two W12 750, one W12 1l and a hundo. Had another one on the line for Weller SiB and a Blanton’s.
  25. Austin
