I think it is going to be important for the staff to not think of the defense statically. There is no Sweat on the roster, a 2 gapping immovable monster. It does have athletic DTs. Savea was solid in Nansen’s defense at Arizona that focused on moving the DL. Barring massive improvement or portal signing, that philosophy is going to fit this DL better. You are not going to see the best of Broughton or Collins, if you are asking them to 2 gap
You should write them a letter and staple your business card to it. I think they’ll appreciate your unique perspective.

That’s 7 ends who will be competing for 140-150 snaps per game. If we can’t produce consistent pressure on the QB out of that, then we’ll just be pretenders.

The phrase isn’t, “The apple doesn’t come to rest far from the tree.” Just saying.

We are going to be top 5, and it is really splitting hairs at that level. You are talking about 2 or 3 points difference for entire classes, and some of those classes have 4 or 5 more guys in them. If someone said we finished 5th or 2nd, it all kind of feels the same. Tip of the hat to the staff regardless.
I agree, but I’m just saying that a double-digit recruiting ranking for Texas is irresistible troll bait for some of the more-Texas antagonistic national writers out there. We haven’t seen it for a while though - thank God.

Yea put me in this camp. It’s far superior to services overrating your players as long as it doesn’t get out of control. Given our program trajectory I doubt it even lasts long.
I agree with this as long as we stay top 10 in the final rankings to avoid the “noBoDY wAnTs to PLAy fer TEXAS” hit piece headlines.

How relevant is the 400 to football speed?
Not a ton, but it shows great conditioning and a willingness to work hard.

I can only hope that Iowa State can give you guys and your CFP hopes a giant kick in the fellas on your way out the door. I've been predicting ISU will win this game since I saw the schedule and I'll stand by that. I could write some long diatribe about my feeling about Texas and the role they played in the destruction of the Big 8/SWC/Big XII, but I won't. I get why you're leaving for the SEC, and If ISU was in a position to move there or to the BIG, we would.
That said, don't expect and hug and a kiss on the way out. 🤘👇.
See what I mean. This is the prevailing attitude of ISU fans since becoming “good” at football.
“We would have made the same choices, but screw you for doing so.” lol

I was at our last two games in Ames and will be there next week as well. Despite what everyone thinks about ISU, I’ve found them to be insufferable shitheads who act like Texas owes them an apology for some imagined grievance. I only appreciate ISU for inspiring Bo’s epic ass chewing. Otherwise, screw ‘em. We have no business leaving eternal scoreboard behind in Ames.

Pessimistic view: The game was tied 10-10 going into the 4th and Bama barely beat USF.
Optimistic view: Our offense brought its D game and we still won by 21.

Honest question, were Ewer’s deep ball struggles known when he was the thought of as the most flawless high school QB of all time? When did this start?
-
Reasons for negativity:
-Offensive line couldn’t move Rice
-Ewer’s deep ball
-general offensive sloppiness
-Milroe’s running
-Sark’s record in road games
Reasons for optimism:
-The defense
-non-deep ball passing game
-We know this offense can be much better
-We’ll open up the playbook
-Milroe’s passing

McKinley is either lying about having made up his mind over a month ago or he is lying about having interest in Aggy. Either way, lying is unbiblical and I’d hate for his dishonest ass to be a negative influence on Aggy’s churchy locker room. I guess he might as well come to Texas instead.

If one of the top 6 PAC teams can manage to run the table in-conference (like TCU last year), that team will take the place of the Mich/OSU loser.
