The first part is sad, but the hauling ass down the aisle while landing made me laugh.

Well, hello, gents, it’s been a while. Catching up on the thread, I see that excellent work abounds. I probably gained 10lbs just looking at the pics.
A friend came up for the Dallas Safari Club convention last weekend, and he brought these strips from an HEB in Austin. Grilled over lump with a kiss of mesquite. Like butter.
Nice work! That looks amazing! Too bad you were running low on lettuce though.

Any chance the SDX bus returns?

The Christmas tree lot at Farrington is the saddest thing I've ever seen, they've only got like 20 small trees out there.
I drove by there last weekend and there were many available. Good sign for the Optimist folks and their fundraising that they've been sold.

have heard great things about brix. been waiting for the weather to break for a saturday bbq bike tour. brix is on the list.
I've never had a bad meal at Brix. Their brisket, pork ribs and sausage are top notch. As a bonus, they provide free Hop Fusion beer while waiting for your order.

Wife and I went for an after drink Friday night at Toro Toro in the Worthington. As soon as we walked in I saw Casey Thompson and his family in one of the sitting areas. CDC and Hartzell were there getting their drink on. Shot the shit with CDC a couple of times. Good dude and says he misses Funky Town.

I graduated from UT in 94. I want to take my kids for some fun. Not looking for a big party scene though I used to do a lot of that. Anyway, going to the game and was looking for a fun atmosphere without a lot of drunk people. Maybe Dutch's early b4 the game and Dirty Bones friday? Does anyone go to Angelo's anymore?
Blue Goose on University. Fun atmosphere, decent food and drinks.

I really should have taken a pic of the baby tacos, but we were in that little 3-table bar area, so it would have been fairly obvious I wasn’t pumped.
Sorry, but I guess my point was that the food has apparently improved to perfectly fine from the suckage I had encountered during my visit.

Went to Original Del Norte tonight (old El Rancho Grande in Northside). Food quality was perfectly fine, service was spotty, but they tried. Problem was price v. quantity. Two ‘puffy’ tacos, rice, & beans was $16. Well, the tacos were tiny, & puffy would be extremely kind. Filling tasted good though. You would get much more food on Tuesdays & Wednesdays at Pulido’s with their old $5.99 taco plate.
I would return, but definitely order the Roosevelt Special next time. That was $13 & an appropriate portion.
Glad they have improved their game, because when I went 2-3 months ago, the food (cheese enchilada plate) had no flavor whatsoever, the salsa was runny/tasteless, and the tortillas were like rubber. I was shocked as to how different the food was between their two locations.

For the 12th largest city in the country to not have reliable public transportation is a joke. And unless you are willing to chance riding our glorious bus system, you are pretty much screwed.
I agree, but a $2.50 train ride to the airport is pretty sweet though.

I don't Uber like I used to but my understanding is that there is still a driver shortage. Try Lyft?
Lyft was $13. Still kind of pricey, but better than $40. I have never used Lyft so didn't even think about them. Thanks for the recommendation.

Just to throw out a little more info. Going to cook ribeyes and filets.
Get ready for a lot of different answers! With all due respect, you don't have to reverse sear or sous vide to cook a quality steak as most here seem to believe, although I understand why people do so. If you have a grill and can get the temperature to 450-550, you are on your way. It does take a little practice, and I did so with less expensive prime top sirloin, but have gotten it down and it is so much easier. Just my opinion, and it won't be very popular. Either way good luck.
