taking off for a few days in Angelfire. looks like they are getting 6" tonight. Stopping in Lubbock halfway to spend the night w/ inlaws but may have to delay taking off early Wed morning due to the storm. Supposed to ski Th/Fr/Sa/Su. Fr-Su look like fantastic days. Have chains ready to go but hopefully the road crews do some work before hitting any rough patches.
made it in Wed night and Thursday turned out awesome after ~10in falling on Wed. park was empty and thicc powder everywhere under a bluebird sky. we were not used to skiing in that powder kids and i got stuck a few times
Friday was still not crowded and could find good snow fairly easy. Kids did some 1/2 day lessons. daughter is getting good at snowboarding
Sat we got off right when the lift opened and ran as many as we could on the backside but the hordes were unleashed around 10:30 and 0-5 min lift lines went to 15-20. Sunday was super crowded and there was no escaping 20+ min waits in line.
I cannot recommend enough the Burton step-in bindings and boots for a snowboard. they worked flawlessly and it took ~10 seconds to click in after getting off the lift. no more bending over or sitting on my butt to strap in or make adjustments on the bindings. Just find a relatively flat spot and then click in similar to a ski boot (but heel first) They are expensive but after testing them out for the first time, they are best thing i have ever purchased RE: snowboarding. with some more practice i think i will be able to step in while moving off the lift.

learn me on what is the 'benefit' to not expanding Medicaid? I mean aside from dunking on poor people. isn't politics 101 taking as much Federal money as possible?

Engineers really should be required to take a few classes on communication. Christ, most of them are just so awful at it.
they did at UT at least. There was a EE class where we had to pretend to pitch to VCs. get up in front of the class and go through a pitch. The Indian and Pakistani students really went after each other (class got to ask questions during the pitch). Then everyone turned a white dude when the crux of his plan was to use basically slave labor after he denigrated most of Asia in trying to explain his point. Prof had to stop his pitch lol
Also a writing component class was required to graduate. I took American Studies where we met at Posse East most fair weather days.
Requiring them and being good/decent at it are 2 different things though.

Usually at least on bro or hottie filming everytime I go. A lot of them use actual cameras and legit tripods, not just iPhone and cheap stands.
I want to start photobombing them, maybe let an old man nut hang out of my shorts, but I like my gym and don't want to get the banhammer.not to derail the thread, but this shit blows my mind. I have not been in a gym other than our local Y in probably 15 years. cannot believe the gym allows it. Shirley it violates the TOS

they need a 'patch' for the dopamine/serotonin (or whatever) hit i get when consuming chocolate. that pull is way stronger than anything i have had for tobacco or caffeine. It's nothing to do with hunger or being full. luckily had metabolism to counter the results but nearing 50 that may be waning. around xmas time i just said fuck it and started rampaging on sweets and lo and behold there is 5lbs more of me to enjoy in 2023 so far.

Ever been to Underwood's in Brownwood? Looks like theirs. Meh. But the rolls are covered in crack and unicorn dust....
you shut your whore mouth!
nah, agree that's not real bbq. at least they don't even call it brisket, but whatever it is it's good but i really like their sauce, though. i am having flashbacks of my cattle ranching family complaining that Underwoods bought 'foreign' beef. never reached the point of an aggy-like boycott, though
The potato thing is very interesting. we always make twice baked potatoes where they are chilled/frozen until we need them. I would have pigged out even more had i known.

ah well...nevertheless.jpg is my prediction
now if the child abduction was supported by something like 'suspicious' Wayfair furniture descriptions, then send up the bat-signal. But if the lady could not even convince a journalist/media of anything and only tweeted some crazy out ... not buying it (for the record, MG is a piece of shit)

That was what the Security Guru at the last place I worked recommended. It's... not a very polished user experience. But it works everywhere.
longtime LP user. love that works on PC and mobile (within most apps).
does Bit Warden work on phones (android if it matters). FML, i have soooo much shit stored on LP but each new press release makes it seems like they are proper fucked and users would be stupid not too switch. Have also heard good things about Dashlane

As a manlet, every time I see one of you lumbering giants try to fold yourself into a tight space, I have to fight the urge to say "How's that being tall working out for you now?"

No one should say “you shouldn’t have/buy/be allowed to have a big truck.” I think “what can we do to make fewer people feel like they need one” is a bit more helpful.
i read the first page and then skipped to the last. This question of "what can we do to make fewer people feel like they don't need one" is to basically ban them from downtown/high pedestrian traffic areas. redo parking lots to relegate trucks/SUVs to last row/farthest from door parking enforced with civil fines. lower the height of parking garages a few inches to make it impossible for them to enter. Another big deterrent would have be insurance costs. if trucks are truly hitting more pedestrians then it seems natural that premiums would be higher. now i am not championing those things (I drive a truck), but it would take some very heavy handed tactics to change things so that trucks were relegated back to 'work only' status and not used as daily drivers for city folk. I doubt this will happens as most American cities reactions to traffic/parking is just build more lanes/spaces. it's way more convenient to me in the short term, but likely unsustainable long term as city populations continue to rise along with their 'burbs and there are no incentives (good or bad) to reduce driving other than some jobs extending WFH.
I drive a truck (plain Sierra 2WD 1500) mostly because the cab is big and my 6'7'' frame fits in nicely (no sunroof though, those make the cab too short). Me putting my seat all the way back still leaves a little room for the kids in the back seat. All mid size and some full size sedans leave no room in the back seat if the front seats are pushed all the way back. It's 99% a kid hauler and we take all road trips in my truck. Used to trucks were way cheaper than a big 'luxury' sedan that had a real back seat and spacious front seats. That's not really the case anymore i guess. The Toyota Tundra Crewmax had the absolute biggest back seats and most room between front seats and back seats. loved that truck but it legit got 13mpg or so.

In my experience the steroid injection works for 2 days rather than takes 2 days to work.
most cortisone shots are preceded by a lidocaine shot, which is pretty awesome and makes your shoulder feel bulletproof for the rest of the day.
I have had good luck with cort shots relieving pain that simply was not going away in my knee (torn meniscus) and shoulder (arthritis). Had a buddy i play bball with who gets the gel shots in his knee. Said his doc told him the gel was better long term than a cort shot for the joint if you were going to be getting either on the reg for years.

hasn't GQP moved on to putting gas stoves on a flag and saying come and take it? it's one thing to be on the cutting edge of stupidity but to regurgitate months old falsehoods is just bad form for the aspiring right wing want-to-be funny person.

what is the stated purpose of a sheriff's role in gov/law enforcement? since they are elected they are inherently corrupt and not qualified to do whatever job they are tasked with.

composting is the true tyrannical threat here. not wanting to know about girls'/women's' menstrual cycles or removing 'banned' books from the library or calling for registered Dems to give up their right to vote should they move to a red state. All that is super cool and not tyrannical.
