So, what’s the difference between these people and the ant-government militia nuts in Idaho?

    Great question for Vicky Weaver...

  2. RIP Joe Delaney, who passed on this day, June 29, 1983 while trying to save 3 kids from drowning, even though he could not swim.   I was 12 years old and aware of how he had burst on the NFL scene as a rookie and a small town guy.  It did not make sense to me how he died.  In a way, it still doesn't; but that's what BAMFs do in life.

RIP Joe Delaney.  A true American Hero in every sense of the word.

as for the early 80's, holy cow the AFC was so much fun in that era.

And it should be noted per the article, it says that that is just for developed countries governments. The article also has a viewpoint that says the price should be $1 per day.  At this point, I would argue that the thing should be sold at cost with a very minimal profit margin.  Profit taking in a Global Pandemic isn't a good look.

Maybe from their perspective, the profits ARE minimal...

Saving the world is valuable work.😉

My parents moved to Hernando, MS back in 2003ish. Hernando is right on the MS/TN border by Memphis. My mom was shocked at how openly racist everyone was. Lots of white folk letting the N word fly in public, calling them "boy" and "gal" at places of business. Keep in mind, my parents moved from Vidor into this and it was 1000% times worse than anything ever heard back in east Texas.

I moved to Lake Charles, LA in 2003.  Similar circumstances are why we lived there exactly one year to the date before we could get back to Texas.  You get off the main roads and you started seeing the flags and hearing banjos...almost.  It was eerie as fuck.

Culture shock doesn't even begin to describe it.  I damned sure didn't want my kids growing up around that shit.

    Jesus the density around here.

Y'all can try and twist it however you want, it is flying the flag of a war enemy under the guise of heritage. And it was never "their land", they were not a conquered nation. They were an attempted rebellion that was quashed. Stop glorifying their terrible failure.

I did none of that.  Your reasoning is still flawed.  Then because we don't agree 100% on your flag analogy, I somehow support the confederacy.    LOLz.  You people only know one fucking way to discuss things.   Cancel everything else.

No sir.  It's just a different perspective.

    Moving on.

You missed the point, possibly intentionally.

It is the exact same thing as a Japanese immigrant flying that flag on a United States military base.

    No it isn't.

It would be like flying the Japanese flag on our base in Okinawa.   It is their land, but they were defeated.   It's still understandable.

FTR- when I see the stars & bars, it's like an instant view into the soul of the bearer, "i hate n_ggers."   Your scenario is still false.

No, that is a stupid point. Made by stupid people.

As many people have already pointed out, these objections to the statue were made before to the highest levels of the administration. They were shot down because of tradition and a cherry picked historical narrative. It is not Monds duty to inspect the racial history of every statue on campus. He is just a student. Upon learning of the history, and really learning all the bad parts of it, yes, catalyzed by recent events in America, he is trying to enact meaningful change. And the idiots retort is “but but but you didn’t have a problem with the statue the past three years”. I’m sorry, but it is a stupid rebuttal and lacks understanding of pretty much every aspect of the situation. It is said by an idiot and repeated by other simpletons who think “yes, it is true, he didn’t protest the statue the first three years. That is a provable fact so my side has facts too.” It is stupid because it ignores the thousands of other facts that lead to the current situation. Such facts include, but are not limited to, Mond was just one student of 60K and not responsible for ensuring every statue on the campus wasn’t glorifying a losing war veteran that fought to enslave a race of people. As a student, Mond was not required to know the history of every statue on campus. Mond was not required to research what protestations had been made on behalf of black people at A&M. The recent surge of Black Lives Matter movement that has been going on for years, but recently gained worldwide attention because of the alleged murder of George Floyd. Context matters.  We should stop allowing stupidity to permeate unabated in our schools, our universities, our workplaces, and our message boards. We can do better.

    Not the statue.

The racism in general.  Thanks for the sermon though...  in an aggy thread.   Now explain gravity to the class...

aggy culture is why most 5 star recruits don't want to play there.

FedEx envelopes/ bags are the only rational reason I could see any player of talent giving them a look.   Never has made sense to me.

The racists have something of a point...Mond has been there 3 years, he just now noticed?

Don't be an ass. This right here. Thank you, nation of Canada, for being out friend. I know a few western Canadians, and they're as rugged and badass as anyone in the US.

Just laugh a little this morning, my friend.    and your post even supports my joke even more as the Westerners have pretty much shrugged off the French influence.

Man, I always thought a full-length documentary on A&M would be fantastic. Imagine all the horrific and absurd and hilarious shit these people would say in interviews. Imagine them describing all the asinine "traditions" of "aggieland." Imagine them, with straight faces, telling the camera that B-CS/AM is their heaven on earth. It would be hysterically funny.

And it would be so easy to get access - just tell them you want to document the great traditions and so on.

you could cover everything in 5 minutes.

    Unless you include the lies.
