  1. He’s feeling this on the recruiting trail. He’s hoping recruits and their families will read his words and not the report. What a lying slime ball.
  2. I think the deluded degenerates in Ohio really believe Herman snitched for recruiting purposes. Their response to “Urban protects wife beaters” was “Herman objectifies women.” I presume that’s an effort to get moms to think Tom hates women more than Urban in this imaginary recruiting war. Their paranoia and obsession with this fictional narrative may have led them right to the (otherwise impotent) NCAA’s doorstep. All they had to do was shut the fuck up and let it blow over. I really detest that whole institution. I hope their whole athletic department implodes over this.
  3. Not sure where covering up child rape falls on the scandalous shitbag spectrum, but Penn State thoroughly trumps Ohio State, if not all others.
  4. You think? My point was that the NFL will put up with bitch-assedness and play the bitch ass if it thinks there’s talent behind the bitch-assedness. Warren was the first example I thought of because he’s getting tons of reps despite the attitude issues he demonstrated here. I’ll admit there are better examples out there. Dez would’ve been a better one. He was a cancer, but he didn’t get benched. T.O. is a great one. Point is, these turds don’t always get more disciplined when they get to the league. And yes, Warren will likely suffer a labia tear before the season starts.
  5. Not exactly how it’s working out for Chris Warren so far.
  6. Agreed. I think the high praise is a little unearned so far. He’s been inconsistent at best, especially in coverage.
  7. Oklahoma State was probably Holton’s best game. He was nails, and easily the best DB we had. It was also one of his last, if not his last. Kris took over Holton’s role after that with very little drop off, of any. He showed out against offenses like West Virginia, Tech and Mizzou without Hill on the team. Hill was our best DB, but Boyd closed that gap tremendously. If he continues to improve and keeps his nose clean, he’ll get drafted in the first four rounds, at least.
  8. Exactly. So the improvement some people are looking for has already begun. I just wanted to remind everyone that, while he definitely struggled early last year, he was borderline dominant the latter half of the season.
  9. Boyd was a completely different player the second half of last season. He was fantastic. Teams stopped testing him altogether. If he maintains that trajectory, I expect him to do well in the draft. His size and athleticism are rare. He’s extremely physical, and he seems to have developed the attitude you love in a corner. I’m excited to watch him this year.
  10. I don’t want our players to suck either. I was just saying I’m not going to dog a kid for being a bad football player if he’s actually doing what coaches ask and being a good teammate. His inability to do so in high school made me doubtful he’d be any better in college. That’s what infuriated me about our offering him. From what I understand, that’s also why TexPete’s “irrational” dislike for the kid was actually pretty rational to me.
  11. Some of both. Not all of them, obviously.
  12. Yeah, I know the coaches and faculty who were at cove while he was there. Some are still there. I played with some, in fact. Not many flattering things to say. I don’t care if a kid sucks. I care about his attitude. I wouldn’t be shocked to learn he’s more humble at Texas, where he may very well be the worst player on the team. I’m pretty sure Wickline stopped calling him once he met him and realized he was a fraud. I thought we dodged a bullet when Baylor took him. Alas...
  13. Purely based on size and self-generated hype. He was pitiful in high school, where the competition was weaker. And I wouldn’t bad mouth the kid if he’d been a positive contributor or a team player. He was neither. Again, I hope that’s changed.
  14. I may have too much access to old information. Like I said, my opinion of the kid is based on his actions in high school. His dad was a piece of work, too. Wanted special treatment for his son. Wanted JP excused from certain work outs that he didn’t think his son needed to participate in. Constant gym selfies and look-at-me shit blasted on social media, but didn’t actually work out hard, if at all. Did not have the respect of his teammates or coaches. I’m sure TexPete has covered this stuff pretty thoroughly. All that said, I won’t ignore the possibility that the kid has had an awakening and learned some humility. I hope he has. I want young people to develop into contributing members of society, and I believe in redemption. If such a transformation has transpired, it’s happened in the last couple of years. I’m just telling you, he was a turd and a waste of potential all through high school. I never had any optimism for his success based 100% on his attitude and personality.
  15. If he’s a good kid, that’s a recent development. He was an incredible douche in high school. Entitled, narcissistic douche.
  16. He was a wasted scholly. He would have helped us more by staying at Baylor.
  17. Agreed. Our class isn’t bad. We’ve brought in some outstanding out-of-state talent and we have room to grow with late quality. It’s frustrating because we’re getting beaten in-state at possitions of need, which should NEVER happen. FCB. But I like it better than the days when Mack jumped all over Trey Hopkins and Dom Espinosa in May and then never offered Luke Joeckel.
  18. Agreed. Honestly, my biggest fear is his decommitting and going to OU or aggy. I hope he stays at tOSU and flounders in the turmoil.
  19. Most of the online “journalists” are just sports paparazzi these days. There are a few who actually accumulate facts/stats and provide insightful, objective analysis of those facts, but those are few and far between. The few good articles get buried under the piles of crap written to satisfy the unwashed masses. It takes time to scour all those sources to get substantive info.
  20. At the risk of injecting positivity, Vegas favors us in every game except OU going into the season.
  21. My 72 year-old mother is better than Urquidez.
  22. Art Briles sends his regards from Italy.
