Sark may not be the guy, and he sure is whiffing on some opportunities to look like that guy, but he's not an idiot, and if he fails, the program is going to be in a lot better shape when he leaves than when he arrived.

That’s some 2020 pre-free agency thinking right there.

I’m 2023 and just letting you know that when you get home from work later you will find your blow is gone, I drank all your booze,  stole your car, fucked your girlfriend, and burned down your house on my way out of town.

Just so we're clear if you could land one of Day, Kirby, Dabo, or Urban for fully guaranteed 10 year 100 million plus deal, you wouldn't?

Urban and the coed fingering?  sure.

There were also people here chest bumping when we got Herman. Imagine that? A guy who's claim to fame was being the OC for Urban Meyer, running Urban Meyer's offense, and then taking over a program that had just realized their wide receiver was the best QB(Greg Ward Jr) on the team and gone 7-3 down the stretch after the change the year prior to his arrival. A guy who never proved he could recruit because he wasn't there long enough to show any prowess. And finally, a guy who's ball control offense required the QB to be the best athlete on the field and play hero ball in a conference where scoring comes easy. We went all in on a guy like that at the University of Texas. That's like Tom Brady deciding he wants to date Rebel Wilson because she was funny in that one movie.

    You’re a beating.

You realize there was a fairly large contingent who saw the hiring of a coordinator who won an MNC under Urban, who then parlayed that into a few good years at a G5, and who proceeded to bring their entire G5 staff along for the ride…  a second time in a row thought it was a dumbfuck move?

Hiring Herman on the heels of strong made me want to kick puppies and run over squirrels.

7 win Steve is a complete what the fuck do you expect hire, hopefully it was orchestrated to turn around a decade of horrible recruiting.  Maybe the next time a good coach looks under the hood he sees something worth taking on.

  4. 5/6 of the game was great.   There’s a few things we could have done that would have made it better

Tell the players there’s NIL gold in the methtard dental plans, go get it all.

Throw matches in their meth lab, game bus RVs and watch their program financially burn to the ground.

It’s fucking OU   With 10 min left if they decide to quit because they’ve had enough, don’t respect their decision.  Make them portal out of the cotton bowl to make it stop

Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed that ass whipping.

Wow. I graduated HS in the Mid 90s to and that would have been unthinkable. But like @Horn Dogsays we definitely tossed around gay/fag and racist jokes on the regular. Tbh to this day in my mind the association I have with the word gay is lame and nothing to do with sexuality. I have to consciously not use the word.

I dunno. Maybe because I'm from the south, but rural California and Nevada are pretty much the scariest places I've been basically anywhere. It's like the land that time forgot shit. And I've been to rural Idaho. Winslow Arizona was another place that wasn't necessarily intimidating but incredibly sad. It's like still 1958 there with no money.

Same here, I particularly struggle with retarded/retard and the wife gets extremely bent when I use them.

Sooo… I try to use them in proper context, like “Hey, did you see that article where honey bee venom retarded the growth of cancer cells?   Amazing huh?!”    That pisses her off even more.

It's Washington man. You act as though they are a blue blood program. They were 1-10, 5-5, 4-9, and 0-11 leading into Sark.

Don’t be a dipshit, that was coaching.  They were a .700 program with an MNC, multiple 10 win seasons and ONE losing record in the 30 years leading up to the train wreck that was Willingham.

They had 6 years of terrible coaching with a couple teams that completely gave up, and when they brought Sark in he was extremely average.

Still, he’s one of the best talking heads covering CFB.

  8. From a strategic standpoint, playing a tough early conference game and a late season easy game just makes too much sense.  Why should the SEC change that strategy even with 9 games?

    1. It’s early in the season and people are excited just to have football.  So while most teams are playing shitty OOC have prime matchups spread over the first 3 weeks.   Eyeballs.

    2. losing early doesn’t hurt as bad, people have short memories and gives time for the loser to recover in rankings. Who really wants to see Bama/LSU play late then rematch in the MNC?   If they played early and the loser seems to improve over the season, a rematch is more palatable.  Expanded playoff is going to provide for a lot more rematches, so we will see what kind of fuckery comes from it.

    3. late lesson easy game lets teams rest and heal, spread them over 3 weeks and there’s still plenty of good matchups for the TVs.

    4.  If the conference as a whole is getting a win while the other conferences are going .500 there is going to be favorable movement in the polls as losers drop in rank.

The late season cupcake is a large part of the SEC myth along with 8 conference games.  That myth that began while we were good has turned into reality with SEC winning 12 of the last 16.  It helps when they get 2 teams into a 4 team playoff or both slots in the BCS MNC which has happened multiple times, and the SEC myth helped that happen.

if we went back to the early 2000s when the B12 was arguably the strongest conference AND if we had competent leadership who decided to adopt those strategies, realignment would probably look a lot different right now.

Love the piped in crowd noise. There are like 100 in dye stands but the crowd noise is still there.

Went with some friends to the Miss St game a few years ago to their miss st game and they were piping crowd noise through the speakers all game long.
They run it through the play which I thought was illegal, but even if not thats not very sporting of them.

it became incredibly obvious later in the game with aggies losing and only about 1/4 of the crowd remaining, yet the crowd noise was still too loud to talk to someone next to you.  Pretty sure Dan Mullen called them out for it a couple years ago.

more details...wtf is wrong with kids today...

KENS 5 learned disturbing details Wednesday from adult sources inside Alamo Heights High School. The sources say all of this stems from a team tradition.

In a message sent to KENS 5, a source says:

"The senior boys did an initiation, where they went out to the baseball fields and made the younger players put cookies dipped in hot sauce between their butt cheeks. Then, they had to race each other, and if any of the cookies fell out the person would have to eat it. They made them do this in an open space completely naked. They then also were throwing hot sauce on some of the players, then at a later party, made some of the freshman get down to their boxers and give lap dances to some cheerleaders."

District officials claim administrators and coaches had no knowledge of any allegations prior to receiving the reports.

"We understand there are rumors circulating in the community and would caution everyone against jumping to conclusions," the district says.

AHISD Athletic Director and head football coach Ron Rittimann said, "We have a responsibility to the young men on our football team that goes well beyond what happens on the field. We celebrate their successes when it’s appropriate to do so, but we also must help them learn from their poor choices. We will move forward as a team and continue the important job in developing the character of these young men.”

San Antonio sports radio host Mike Taylor tweeted on Wednesday morning that the varsity football team has been suspended two games, given in-house suspension and 10 hours community service for hazing.

Back when we used to just fight and as long as no one died it was mostly boys will be boys.   Whoever suggested shoving cookies up other kids ass would have got their ass beat.

now that avenue for young aggression has been largely removed it sure seems like there’s sadistic tendencies finding some fucked up ways to be expressed, and accepted.

Anthony Hill and the rest of aggys class.

if by bread you mean money, you’re correct.

Aggy is shooting for their 2nd straight MNC, last year it was the #1 ever class ranking, this year it’s the #1 ever class average.

once they process the anchors and they finish with a class of Hill, they will secure the highest class average ever, a mark that will never be out done and is stadium and hall of champions worthy.

the dipshits over at Texags hav assured everyone that they have to take an unusually small class and that Hill is the sole missing piece to aggy greatdom.   Plus they probably need their bag money to keep recruiting last years haul.

  12. Here’s my go-to choices, highly recommended

tequila = tears of llorona.  Over the past decade this has become one of my favorites and also aptly named.   Plus it’s been a tequila kind of week and it’s only Tuesday I think.
Honorable mention = Avión 44 is also good, and mellow for those who like it like that.

bourbon = Blantons straight from the barrel   I keep the original around because it’s easier to find, but prefer the former
Honorable mention:  it’s bourbon, there’s so many …

scotch = Macallan 18 (if you can find the one that says “Exclusively matured in select sherry oak casks from Jerez Spain” don’t hesitate.  Macallan has several versions of the 18, this one is tops and getting harder to find.

honorable mention = in the JW line give the King George V a try.

Sometimes I’ll just start drinking around the bar until they all start to taste the same and I wake up in the yard with pissed off neighbors, which is really hard to do since the nearest one is over 1/2 mile away.

    Fucking awesome.

It has been a while since Texas was firing on all cylinders, but it feels like things are starting to move in a generally positive direction.

No brand in college athletics is bigger than Texas. The "horns down" craze that is sweeping college athletics is about to give UT a presence across all college sports that is going to astound even most of us.

If your biggest rival has a mutual biggest rival and it’s not you, that makes you the little brother.

OU can horns down all day long and it warms my heart.  Aggy can get fucked

If this firm has any idea what it's doing, it appears the next PAC12 TV deal will pay their schools $30M less per school, per year than the SEC/B1G are projected to make by 2024-25, if that plays out, gotta think USC/Oregon, at a minimum, will be looking for an invite to the B10/SEC.  I'm sure the ACC will be in a similarly weak position when they go back to the table too.

    https://www.mercurynews.com/2022/06/10/projecting-the-value-of-the-pac-12s-next-media-rights-contract-will-it-approach-the-sec-and-big-ten-deals/

Pac days are numbered, they just can’t keep pace financially.

if I had to bet on a model when the dust finally settles it probably looks like the NFL with 2 super conferences.
B1G raids the PAC because they have plenty of AAU schools and that matters to them.  USC, UCLA, Oregon, UW are probably at the top of the list but there are several more depending on how many teams are the goal.

SEC raids ACC but they don’t go to play school so Clemson and FSU are probably at the top with some actual quality schools like UNC and UVA, though it’s the SEC so just as easily could be NCst/VaTech plus whoever to get to a specific number.

2 super conferences with E/W divisions of 10 or something.  SEC splits into SEC/SWC and aggy has an aneurism.

    Oh, and fuck Notre Dame

Don't assume they are committing financial crimes. We have no evidence yet to support that.Let's not do what aggy does and just make shit up - (12th Man, "more officers," "the CIA is mostly aggy grads," "unlimited redneck wealth," etc, etc, etc).

The powers that be at A&M have done some monumentally stupid things as of late. Enjoy this. They have fucked up big time. And there is no cutting their losses this time.

Just chill out. This is about to get so much more entertaining than most people can imagine.

Don't assume, don't embellish, don't project. Just tell the story as it happened.

It amazes me how idiotic people can be trying to yell "Look at me! Look at me!"

The people of Texas deserve better than Texas A&M.

    aggy_ralph copy.jpg

I won’t speak for Doc, but aggy is absolutely claiming to have committed crimes regarding football recruiting.

they claim the money going to the recruits is through LLCs they made for each recruit.  That’s against state law.

Their best player from last year publicly states he was never paid, so you know, the legal NIL route of getting currently enrolled athletes paid and then showing recruits what they “might” make… yet HS players with price tags on their recruitment ended up in the aggy best college recruiting class ever.

Sure, the 2nd example requires a tiny bit of supposition, but aggy explaining their NIL and that being against state law does not.

  16. 15 minutes ago, UTEE97 said:

God, I sincerely hope this lying piece of shit coach and the cheating program that he so proudly represents get their due. Someone is going to blow the whistle.

Well, he was being truthful that this class has nothing to do with NIL.

Greatest university blah blah bullshit for sure, but it also looked like he was calling out other cheaters for crying.

now the dumbass aggy flock who think they have put together the fastest, richest, bestest NIL in the country is where the real humor exists.

Ohh, and a few more years of 8&4 and his knowledge of how this cycle went down will be used against him to try and get out of that contract.
