Someone on this thread made the case for Taylor to Cougar High that made sense.
He could clean up on the 2nd tier recruits and maybe snag a few top tier guys in the Houston and East Texas area and put together a pretty good team without having to worry about the Bull shit at A&M. Β He could pad his resume and his choices would be a lot better than they are now. Β
Baylor, Β no.
Well, with how things are going right now with Holgo and UH, this would very well be the case in the next 2 weeks.Β Traylor aint jumping on the UH job while A&M could potentially throw a truck full of cash at him next week. Once the aggy foolishness is taken care of, then Traylor can back channel UH, so UH can dismiss Holgo and bring in Traylor within the hour.

So, letβs just say they do promote Robinson. Is he forced to keep the staff? Are we really about to run back this same shitshow but only replace Jimbo?
If not, where are his contacts to build a staff? They desperately need to get rid of the rot at OL, TE, WR, and QB coaches. Does Robinson just rely on Petrino to fill it with βhisβ guys? Does anyone trust him enough to not turn this into a neponistic shitshow?
What about on D? So they go chalk with how bad large swaths of that staff is? If he makes replacements, where do they come from? Itβs not like he has major connections outside of the current staff?
So Β itβs riding with the same ole retreads Β or itβs relying on his minimal level of contacts to build a Turtle Tom equivalent staff or they are going to rely on what Durkin and Petrino can bring inβ¦.

So they were set to hire a DC that worked for Jimbo then nixed that so they could either hire a DC that worked for Jimbo or a DC that worked for Jimbo?Β

What has Elijah Robinson done to show he can run a program and recruit against Texas, Bama, LSU, OU for the elite regional talent. Β What coaches are going to come work for him. Β Dude is going to flame out big time at aggy.
Makes me curious if he could but together a higher quality staff than Turtle Tom or Strongβ¦
What OC is going to be willing to conn my s in? Who dies he know on the offensive side of the ball not in the Jimbo or Sumlin tree?

My issue is that if Stoops is now considered the absolute floor (a current mid-level SEC coach), who would be acceptable that would actually go without paying out like Jimbo all over again?
-
NOOOOOOOO!

You know... if this UCLA game keeps on track, ole Chip Kelly will be available in like 3 hours..
-
There is jsut no way A&M will let Robinson go... unless of course Robinson is getting legit DC offers or a low level HC job. Still think Syracuse would be a great fit.

So walk me through this..
Fire Jimbo and eat the $$$
Didnt have a successor in place or at least well down the road
Strike out with many other coaches
Decide the best "name" hire is to "poach" the current HC from UK
Then fail to understand that the guys that are keeping your mercenaries still there aren't going to match with Stoops
and as an added plus you also are saddled with his brother as a LB coach...
- 1
-
So Stoops to aggy, Lebby to MSU
Going to be real interesting to see if UK upgrades in all of this and does OU get an OC that isnt a douchbag
-
And just to add Lebby to MSU as well is being reported

-
And the best part of this is that it is extremely unlikely he keeps the current staff. So all of those recruits that loved the staff...
Β
There is nothing about this hire that could be spun as exciting to me... Plus that means they also get to have his brother there "coaching" LBs...

After watching tonight, going to be real interested in how well things work with Louisville. Nobody is going to be afraid of this offense and if UF had any form of O this game would be over
-
This is why UF sucks and why Napier may get fired..... Undisciplined play and dumb playcalling
