  1. Never really was a Kiss fan or Ace fan, but I found this surprisingly listenable. Possibly because there' so little decent rock out there these days, but it's pretty toe-tappin'.

Jerry's 81 years old and he's made $8 billion on his $150 million investment and you're talking tee shirt sales? Jerry would give away a $ billion to win a Super Bowl without Jimmy but he's too football stupid to do it.

This is fact. The myth that Jerry is only interested in making money is false. He wants to win more than anyone, for his own ego. He just doesn't have a clue how to get it done. So at least he's got his money.

It sucks to get embarrassed by a below-average team like the Packers, but all this showed me was the 49er blowout was going to happen again. This team sucked in every big game they played this year except the Lions game, I guess.

Honestly, even though Dak sucked, the defense was horrible. Dan Quinn clearly one foot out the door in Seattle and Parsons needs to shut his trap next year until he does something in the playoffs.

Yeah, Dak made a couple of brutal throws, but the D was a total dumpsterfire. Quinn comes up with some really cool schemes, but doesn't seem to be able to adjust very well short term or in game. They just flat out sucked ass. That's how shit like the blowouts Dallas suffered, and blowing a 28-3 lead in the Superbowl happens. I sure wish some team were stupid enough to hire him away as a head coach.

McCarthy is just McCarthy.  Credit to him for getting the offense cranking this year, but his overall leadership and game management is still shittyass shit.

Pete Carroll out as head coach in Seattle. How likely is it that Quinn fills that spot? I always feel he was just waiting for the right spot to open up.

I have a feeling Quinn's head coaching prospects plummeted quite a bit after today's shithole performance. We're probably stuck with him.

  5. Is anyone still concerned about losing Dan Quinn? They have three or four (when healthy) of the best defensive players in the NFL and the defense is shit.

And we all knew McCarthy would shit the bed at some point and get completely outcoached.

The home field thing was a bit of an anomaly. It was never home field. It was just inconsistency, and the ability of some teams to take advantage of the holes in the Cowboys scheme. Dallas hasn't had a particularly strong home field advantage since Jerry World was built. It was just more of a coincidence they matched up better in their home games.

Dallas was far too one dimensional to survive the playoffs. They need people to stop the run, and a coach that understands that you can't just avoid run defense and get away with it. They need a much stronger running game, with a punishing runner to finish drives. They need a big scary compliment to Lamb as the other wideout. Ferguson was a revelation during the season, but it wasn't enough, too few reliable options.

Definitely, but you still get some pretty light examples.

I have a strat with a nice Pau Ferro board, but I was able to select it from all of Sweetwaters examples. Had my rep send me pics of everyone they had, not just the four they put up on the page. I don't mind the feel of Pau Ferro, but they can sure be ugly.

Yeah, I'm sure it's a fine wood for playing. But the cruddy color it often has is really off-putting in combination with just about any color guitar.

  7. Rams have been really good, peaking at the right time. They worry me (with their first teamers starting). I'm far less worried about the Pack. I don't think they are that great. But it's the Cowboys so....

I don’t understand how the Cowboys didn’t sign Dalvin Cook and let him go to the Ravens. Pollard isn’t the same this season and he could have been a huge asset going into the playoffs

Especially with their RB depth already being compromised.

It may have come down to multiple teams offering a standard PS deal and Cook going where he preferred to go.

  9. Baby Steps, but I have picked up a guitar and played a little every night in 2024 so far trying to get motivated and at least toughen up my fingertips. But I play the same stupid simple crap, and only for 15-20 minutes. It's better than nothing. I'm just at a loss when it comes to inspiration and creativity. I need to lean some actual tunes to give me some structure and and build some more muscle/finger memory. I'll be listening to my music in the car and hear something that I would like to learn and play, but then I forget all about it by the time I settle down at home with a guitar.

I will say I was a bit reluctant on the shell pink telecaster because the board is Indian Laurel, but it's as dark and nice as any rosewood board I own.

Laurel typically looks light years better than Pau Ferro.

  11. Green-tailed towhees have been all the rage this year. They aren't easy to find, but they are around in central Texas if you look in the right places. They seem very shy and take some coaxing and patience.
