Didn’t say it’s not special, just that it’s not as special as a pitcher (and a good one at that) leading the league in homers. Not even close.

Shohei isn't leading in homers anymore.

  2. Either way God bless for your friend @deadshank - and definitely come back here if you have questions. None of us are the end all be all but I'd hope we can at least expand your horizon and help turn the gears in your own head.

Peace and again God bless ✌

Maybe give the Whisper Chant a try.

Maybe suck my dick and work on your commitment to the program you supposedly support.

It might be worthwhile to involve an interventionist.

Involving an interventionist would seem step 2 to me. Step 1 is set up a very comfortable setting for him where those close to him can express how they feel.

i.e. the initial "intervention" process. Where coworkers, friends and family (and any combination of those three depending on fit or need) can express how they feel and in effect utilize their persuasive power through emotion.

I'd see how he responds and either go from there or regroup depending on whether or not the result is positive.

Some people when they are exposed to that initial intervention have an ability to clean their act up quickly because they didn't realize how much their actions were affecting those they loved.

For others... It can get more tricky - especially when substance abuse issues hang around. In those cases I would 100% reccomend an interventionist. Optimally on top of some good psychiatric and theraputical help.

Also - during the 3rd quarter they interviewed Rush Limbaugh and let him deliver his political shtick. Watching games like this is like revisting that period in American history. It's easy to pick up on significant, non-basketball related differences.

So - correction - that was the 2nd quarter with Rush.

But - on another crazy note - the game is at half and they just did a news piece on the conflict in Mogadishu, Somalia.

I'm sitting here watching MJ and Barkley go at it and they go to half and I'm thinking "Wait... is that the black hawk down event?"

    And surprise surprise it is.

The level of immersion from watching a sports broadcast is unbelievable.

I'm watching game 2 of the 1993 NBA Finals on YouTube and Huey Lewis and the News comes out to sing the national anthem.

Huey Lewis looks like he's been doing blow for the past 3 days.

Mostly I was interested in the basketball but this mini lesson in American cultural history isn't bad.

    337, but who's counting.

They came out flat, no? I would love to move on, but this team just won't let us.

I'll be watching our DL during the Rice game for the same issues as they've had for the last two games. I'm not certain how the coaches fix soft and malleable players, but I guess we'll see.

Yeah I counted it after the fact as well. The fact that I'm on the right side of 300 should tell you to chill.

And I guess the rest of your comment is you attempting to deflect what I addressed? Arkansas is nothing like OU. I will not be worried about Sark coaching the OU game until he coaches an OU game. There is nothing like it on our schedule or on any other schedule in the country.

but not getting up for the Arkansas game is like not getting up for the OU game.

It's nothing like that at all but whatever. Keep writing 600 word posts about shit that we are trying to put behind us this weekend.

The only way to do a bacon and egg taco wrong is to make them with a damn flour tortilla [duck for incoming fire!].  Heavily grilled corn tortillas make for a much better taco experience.

You're allowed to be wrong here. No big deal.

Norm was my favorite comedian.   I’m probably more sad about this than any celebrity death I can remember.

That's tough man. Celebrity deaths are weird. There are hugely famous people that go where I don't even bat an eye and then there are more niche figures that hit me hard. I think Norm was pretty beloved in general but for some of us it's a 61 year old comedian that we enjoyed, for others it's a personal favorite that left a lasting impression.

I have a musician in particular that still fucks me up at times when stuff about him comes up or I listen to certain songs at certain times in my life. It says something about the human experience that we can derive so much emotion from people that we've never met. Pretty fascinating if you think about it.

  12. Man Peters has had a nice little close to the year. Actually pretty normal for him - I think he's just coincidentally played well in some of the games I've watched.

Hilarious they left Greinke in that long.

It is expensive but it is the norm, I am not even that mad about that game but the prices for fucking Jamaica in Austin shouldn't have been nearly expensive but whatever new stadium and all that shit. My el tri buddies that are in PVA have been paying over 100 for the games at ATT stadium

The Austin FC tickets are stupid expensive. Or they were to start the season.

New stadium - limited seating - city with a pretty solid soccer culture - regardless of opponent the game in Austin is going to be pricey.

A US/Mexico game in Austin would be criminal price wise.

    I count 9 transfers:

    INF Skyler Messinger (Kansas)

    C Kimble Schuessler (Texas A&M)

    INF Jack O'Dowd (Vanderbilt)

    RHP Jace Hutchins (Blinn)

    RHP Daniel Blair (Winthrop)

    RHP Zane Morehouse (Dyersburg)

    C Preston Hoffart (Blinn)

    RHP Marcus Olivarez (Lamar)

    1B/LHP Cameron Dayton (Midland)

    Notable omissions:

    Lance Ford

    Caston Peter

    Peter Geib

We could probably field two top 25 teams. Nutty.

About time to get there and win it.
