One of the best years of my life. Sorry you wasted it.

That’s quite the assumption there, Carl. Just because it fucking sucked, doesn’t mean it was wasted. A lot of hard earned lessons. But what are these kids missing really? Pussy? Have you guys ever seen a NBA groupie hoard? I have. Drugs? They get tested, but as far as I know have access to a plethora of different pharmaceuticals. School? They don’t go to that shit anyway. School spirit? Okay. What am I missing here? Camaraderie? They hang out with their teammates. Sure seems worth foregoing a multitude of Benjamin’s. They aren’t like you and me, and will never have that experience. Not the ones who are ready for the pros, at least.

  2. These kids don’t have a normal college experience. It’s a fucking job. Might as well get paid for it. The complete disconnect from some of you and how most people view $400,000 is eye opening.

And by the way, the G League contract includes a full ride for college for Green.

  3. John Prine was one of those artists I fell into later in life. There's a wisdom in his lyrics that young shits just can't understand, unless you've lived a hard life up till that point. I hadn't. I was a spoiled rotton, son of a bitch. I didn't know dick. I listened to shit music and probably forced that shit music on other people. Angel From Montgomery was probably one of the first songs of his I'd heard, but only then it was the Susan Tedeschi version (a complete and total ripoff of the Bonnie Raitt version, but it was her first record and she was doing the blues thing and there's no better person to truly emulate in that arena than Bonnie). It wasn't until I had children and became a somewhat functioning member of society that I heard Souvenirs. It had to have been somewhat after my grandmother had passed away, and I fucking lost it. Had to pull over to the side of the road. From then on I was hooked. Listened to pretty much everything of his that I could find. Had the opportunity to hit up the Bass Concert Hall performance a couple of years ago and had the time of my life. It looked like he did too. I'll miss his music, but thankfully he left so much behind.
