  1. I can’t decide which of @SpiralOut claims is more ridiculous. That players are routinely running 4.2 or that Worthy will go in the 4th round. Probably the 4.2 comment.
  2. That’s a beautiful strawman that you’ve built.
  3. Building an argument based on stats in a completely different system and Gilbert at QB is moronic. I guess Julio Jones had a bad sophomore year with only 596 receiving yards. It couldn’t be that he was in a run heavy offense and a QB with a weak arm.
  4. The mastermind and driving force behind the sphere is … James Dolan. I would have been less surprised if I found out that CarrotTop invented the iPhone.
  5. I didn’t know you were such a lifelong fan of the beautiful game being played in the Summer League. Sorry if I impugned such a great league.
  6. Yes. If they had more than a week of playing time together. Which they don’t. This is a sloppy product on the court. That’s all.
  7. This is not “high-level” but I don’t think he’s out of shape. Just rusty.
  8. I just want to empathize that @Mitch Cumsteen is 100% right. He will have the easiest 20 10 and 3 blocks you’ve ever seen from a rookie. Perfect game for today’s NBA.
  9. Mets 92 up 53-44 at half. Wemby with 14 points and 4 blocks already. NBA app. It sounds like no Summer League for Wemby so this might be one of the last opportunities left to watch him.
  10. Wemby plays at 1:30 on Friday and will be going for the sweep. When you aren’t watching Wemby keep an eye on his teammate Bilal Coulibaly. He’s a small forward projected to go top 25 and he pulls off some impressive steals.
  11. Wemby plays game 2 of the semis against ASVEL at 1:30 CT on Tuesday. I’m guessing ASVEL will tempt him to shoot 3s and it will be interesting to see how he adjusts. NBA App again.
  12. Probably when he started putting up big numbers for the Spurs and thought he was a bigger star than he is. Those Hawks picks and swaps are looking juicy. But the problem with owning so many Hawks picks is that Atlanta has no incentive to tank. There will always be a handful of teams that own their own picks and will bottom out. Still a great position for the Spurs to be in.
  13. One more point. Wemby uses his ridiculous wingspan not just vertically but horizontally. When he’s 4 feet from the basket he can wrap around a defender with either hand for an easy layup. The picture below is from a rebound but it’s the same concept. The defender has to stay close so he just uses those freakishly long arms to get around them horizontally.
  14. @ztejas is exactly right and said what I was too afraid to say. Just an alien on both ends. Mets 92 is up 1-0 in the best of 5 semifinal. Do yourself a favor and watch one of the streamed games live(maybe mute the awful announcers).
  15. 19 pts, 14 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks in what turned in to an easy win. Probably a minimum of 6 shots altered and 3 delay of games forced. ASVEL has height and skilled players and he completely stymied them at times.
  16. And right after I posted, Wemby hit a beautiful step back 2, swished a 3, and finished a couple alley oops. The announcers made a good point, Wemby already makes 82% of free throws. That’s a huge weapon for a big man. I feel the need to make caveats maybe just to keep my expectations somewhat tempered. He attempts some very “ambitious” passes. And they look really bad when they don’t work. Be prepared to see that and for haters to clown on them.
  17. Game on now. Back and forth close game that is a real test for Wemby. I’m enjoying watching Wemby on D much more than on O. Do yourself a favor and watch somebody with an 8’ wingspan who is quicker than Rudy Gobert and other elite shot blockers. He blocks 3 pointers that nobody else would even attempt to block. But the real comical part is watching players get the ball to within 4-6 feet of the basket and just have no idea what to do. They can’t shoot over him and they can’t get past him. Now on the downside, he’s been really cold from 3. Like 25% in last 3 games I think. And a couple times he has tried to drive instead of taking open threes. That has not gone well. A couple turnovers and bad passes have resulted. But man once he starts hitting threes consistently … unstoppable.
  18. Wemby plays Tony Parker’s team ASVEL in the Semis Sunday morning at 8:15AM CT. ASVEL is led by former Spur Nando De Colo. Vegas has it as a pick ‘em so it should be a great test. NBA app again. 1st game in a best of 5 series.
  19. Does anybody have this ESPN+ article? I would like to see what ridiculous assets we could get for Wemby. I know we never would trade. https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/37721876/2023-nba-draft-hypothetical-trades-wembanyama
  20. Great writeup @Mitch Cumsteen Wemby will be playing a win or go home game 3 on Thursday. I can’t find the game time.
  21. Yes. An accounting firm could never make a mistake or be fooled. https://amp.theguardian.com/film/2017/feb/27/pricewaterhousecoopers-issues-sincere-apology-for-oscars-blunder https://www.hg.org/legal-articles/the-fallout-of-arthur-andersen-and-enron-on-the-legal-landscape-of-american-accounting-31277
  22. Here are the picks the Spurs own in a best case scenario(in addition to owning all of their own picks) 2024: Hornets pick could be as high as 15, Raptors pick could be as high as 7 2025: Hawks unprotected, Bulls could be as high as 11 2026: unprotected pick swap with Hawks In addition to rooting for the Hawks to collapse we should root for the Hornets to make the playoffs. That pick is projected 1-14 for the next two years and then becomes two 2nd rounders. It would be really nice for that to convey as a 1st.
  23. I never thought I would see an adult admit to not understanding basic math. Surly never disappoints.
  24. That really reflects poorly on you. But not at all surprising.
