The WNBA has to be the dumbest league alive to let this shit keep happening.

If I was Clark I would take Saudi money, Ice Cube money (whatever his goofy league is) and say fuck off to the WNBA that at this point seems to be indifferent to this hyper aggressive treatment

It’s one unforced error after another. I cannot really fathom the stupidity of a league seeing its golden goose get roughed up repeatedly while doing nothing about it. Just the dumbest people possible in charge. I almost half expect for Silver to step in and run the league himself instead of watching the brain trust continue doing what they’re doing.

And I'm still not seeing why Clark got a tech (yes I know the Sun were assessed multiple techs, but the question remains - what did Clark do to merit a tech?)

A better angle of the cheap shot:

So I know Clark likes to talk, but she is like Larry Bird in that respect. He talked start to finish, but he backed it up. I watched the game today and Sheldon was physical from the jump. Clark told her to play basketball in the 1st half. Sheldon, being a scrub that plays for a garbage team that couldn't win the women's SEC right now, just kept hacking. Then Clark really let her have it after she bombed another three in her eye in the 4th. The Sun coach looked disinterested in doing anything to stop this. He looked more like he should have a job as a bellhop than a basketball coach. These players are just so dumb. Clark was clowning your entire backcourt all day long and made it look simple. Deal with it and enjoy being out of the league next year.

Thinking about it all these 2nd and 3rd year players breaking or approaching all these WNBA records just shows how shitty the league was.

Let’s get Auriemma in here to remind us what a meat grinder of a league this is. The talent coming up over the next few years hopefully pushes a lot of these older players right on out the door and into the unemployment line. More of Clark, Bueckers, Watkins (Hopefully fully healed) and less of the players that can’t shoot 40 percent from the floor.

Some of them are quite happy right there.

Oh absolutely. I just always wonder what it was that was their breaking point that they could not get back up from. I spent a pretty good amount of time just watching folks and trying to learn more about the world around me. I feel like there just has to be a better way in a society as abundantly blessed as we are. Seeing people give up on whatever their hopes and dreams were in life and descend down the path of homelessness just gets to me.

we’re just crushing it hosting the club world cup one year before the big one:

the incompetency of the USSF, the corruption of soccer, the incompetency and corruption of trump- something historically comical and/or awful is going to define this world cup.

I’ll take everything you can possibly think will go sideways next year will indeed do just that.

Ya'll are fucking nuts, this was very entertaining and I might have liked more than the first overall.  Mainly due to the brothers being brothers for most of the movie.

I think Affleck was even better in this one.

    But whatever...I hope there's a 3rd.

I took some advice from this thread and watched the first one. I enjoyed both films. It was cool to see how it started and how Affleck portrayed his character in the first film. The nuance about how he talked different in the 2nd film does not matter one bit. The things explored in both movies about autism were pretty interesting to me. I do not see a whole bunch of characters in movies that I can relate to, but this is for sure one that really hits home.

  7. The assist part I am genuinely impressed with even if they were playing one of the dregs of the league that is actively trying to lose games. That means she is realizing that other players need to take shots that don’t shoot the worst percentage from the field in the league. Hopefully this wasn’t the league’s first mebound triple double.

Also that player for the Sun that pulled her hair. If Reese had punched you, well, you would have deserved that.

Y'all getting your hopes up. A cult leaders spell only lifts when they die, and only if they don't die a martyr.

Il Duce would like a word with you. The Italians ran him right the heck on out of there when it became apparent he was a bumbling moron who was not a great cult leader.

I came into work today and the first highlights I see were from this game. I mean sweet Baby Jesus those shots were just ridiculous.

By the way this was Clark's 9th 30/5/5 game of her career. It took her 45 games to do this. The WNBA all-time leader is Taurasi. In 565 games SHE HAD TEN. Someone please tell me again why anyone should listen to anything these former players say when their records are being obliterated by a player they thought was not going to transition into being a star immediately?

    Good.
What people need to realize is that we don’t win by Trump getting better. We with him getting worse. By him doing more and more indefensible, vile shit. Which he will, it’s his nature.
More vile shit, and more vile shit, until his defenders lose critical mass. Then…we overwhelm them and defeat them. That’s the plan. Don’t know if it will work. But it’s the only way.

It works. It'll work this time and it'll work the next time a country gets fooled by an old racist and obese grifter. You build support to send these people packing with days like today.

What the fuck is this idiot trying to say here?

Well I read it twice and he is saying that the "good brown people" are being sent home. The CRIMINALS are now applying for these jobs.

Translation: Somebody in the regime told him that America can't run without these immigrants doing these jobs that no racist white person is going to do so now he's got to bring them back here. Yes he's a moron who is surrounded by other morons.

These are the people I will actively enjoy watching beg for mercy once this regime fails. Make no mistake this maga circus will fail like all despots eventually do. The grifters and racists that say and support things like this should be Fed Ex’d to a Siberian penal colony for the rest of their life. More third world human beings and less of these cretins please.

If you’re watching John Wick movies for realistic fighting you’re doing it wrong

I go for the crazy fight scenes. It has delivered every single time. Love the franchise and hope they branch off and do many more of these movies. It’s just a really fun experience and that’s why people keep going to see them.

  14. It's the story of humanity. Long after we are all gone people will still be doing the same horrific things to each other. History shows this to be true. Demented people are going to keep being born and the process of being horrible to others will start all over again with generations of people well down the road.

However, in your own life you have control over what is right in front of you. Be kind to those that you can and help those that need it. The rest of it is out of our hands. You do the best you can to leave your small corner of the world in a better place than when you showed up to it.

my oldest friend is a first generation american whose dad is from ethiopia and whose mom is eritrean. his dad eas our soccer coach growing up (‘85 Eagles holla). i even speak a little amharic. ethiopia is on my short list of countries i want to travel to.

I gotta tell you Derka I think this board is one of the most unique places on the internet. That is really freaking awesome to hear this. I mean of all the things I thought I'd read about on this board, well, this story would not have been one of them. I am thoroughly impressed that you can speak some Amharic. I am learning the language right now. Having to rewire my brain to learn Amharic has been fun. I can pick up accents really quickly so saying the words with an Ethiopian accent has helped me learn it. Fun language to be honest.

You're good people @Derka. Ask your friend if he has any places he thinks I should hit up in September. I am going for the entire month to Addis Ababa. Gonna rent a car and see the Blue Nile, the waterfall, the Great Rift Valley among other places. I'd love to hear some ideas to go see while I am there. Maybe you should see about heading over there too.

    Totally agree on all points

NYC and Israel have a pretty unique connection. Jews first arrived in New York City in the 17th Century. It’s the largest Jewish population in one place outside of Israel, the home of American Zionism, and I think someone could make a strong argument that there would not be a Jewish nation state called Israel in Palestine without the Jewish diaspora community in New York.

I come from Jews on my mom’s side of the family. I think it is time to stop listening to this group and let Israel sink or swim without us continually propping them up. Enough is enough. There is more than enough evidence over the last 80 years to show that the “Never Again” phrase apparently doesn’t apply to them committing atrocities against helpless civilians. Quit looking for sympathy if you are going to do the same things to others that were done to you.

  18. I watched her yesterday against NY. She comes out and has a really good opening quarter. She even hit a 3 and was not doing her mebound thing and actually passing it back out. They still go into the half down 20 to the best team in the league. That’s to be expected. 3rd quarter they come out and get a couple or three quick baskets and the lead is down to 16. This moron decides to shoulder check one of the Liberty players to the floor right after a made basketball. They went from down 16 to down 35 in just a few minutes. Seems like that ridiculous flagrant may have poked the bear into caring about the game again. You just cannot depend on her to not do something dumb.

Well yes I am aware of Butler and the things he was a part of when he was active duty. Really interesting guy whose words should be heeded now more than ever. The destabilization that interests me is what took place after World War II, especially the role played by the CIA, as that was more of a direct influence on what is transpiring right now.

You know what? I'd rather eat dinner with an "illegal" than a racist MAGA asshole.  One is only trying to survive. The other pledges fealty to a sociopathic narcissist felon who's doing everything he can to wreck this country.

The best thing I say to these people who are against the illegals in America is that they are here due to decisions made by the United States in the 60’s and 70’s. The unintended consequences are countries that never fully stabilized. We created hell for these people and then have the temerity to not let them seek work and a better life here. That is point blank what evil looks like.
