Also if TCU wins today over Baylor, they could move into the 2 line and LSU to the 3. So I guess it’s still possible. They can then move NCST up (and they deserve to be in the 6-7 range and not 8th)

I don't think LSU is holding on to a 2.

In real danger of losing to Ole Miss right now and probably won't beat Alabama in the quarters without FJ.

Is it? I don’t think they’ll fall off the 2 line, but would be nice for NCST to move above them and away from us

I hope so, I just don't think this LSU roster is very good.

Honestly, I hate to say this but I think Mulkey should win SEC coach of the year. The fact they were actually in the mix this year was one of her best coaching jobs. This roster doesn't even have top-10 talent IMO. Especially not without FJ.

We killed Bama but they didn’t have Barker. Would be nice to face them at full strength

That's going to be a tough match-up for Alabama considering the circumstances. Assuming they beat LSU.

3rd game in 3 days for a team that only plays 6 to 7 players. Also, they really only play 1 big in Cody and she's not capable of playing more than 25 minutes a night to begin with.

Yep, she scored 16 against us. Thats a big production for them to replace in a potential semifinals matchup with Texas.

And unlikely we shoot that badly in the first half again

I think Alabama will beat them too.

They just beat them a couple days ago and that was when LSU had FJ.

  5. I feel like this team is going to be difficult to beat on Sundays with our approach at the plate.

Oklahoma State (14 runs and 10 walks). Today vs Illinois (15 runs and 6 walks). Still a small sample and didn't do much against Dartmouth on Sunday but it was also 5 degrees outside.

When you get to back-end arms they will walk you and that plays right into this approach.

  6. This looks like the Schloss teams at aggy the last couple of years.

Patience to the extreme. Get on base with walks and get deep into counts for hitter counts. It does work and especially with college pitching.

Though the 6 is Alabama. But they just did lose to OU

For sure but we will have a major advantage if we get the 6 seed.

That will be their 3rd game in 3 days and only our 2nd in 2 days. A team like Alabama only plays 6 to 7 players too. Honestly, I think I would rather play LSU without FJ though. Their roster is already limited and that's their best player.

It probably has to do with the history of wbb at Texas.  We are a historic program in that sport with a national title, whereas we do not have much of a history in soccer at all.  There are probably a lot more people/alumni who care about the Texas wbb team succeeding than the soccer team that may not have existed when they were in school.

I think CDC just had Vic lined up. We went from a top 25ish coach to a top 5ish coach. That type of upgrade you take if it's available.

I actually think it took some pretty big balls to fire Aston. She's a good coach as she's showing at UTSA.

Aggy loses to OSU 4-0 to lose four in a row.

    Texas scored 14 against OSU.

I mean it's pretty obvious already who orchestrated their hitting approach.

We've had what 14 free bases in the last 2 games (including BB and HBP). Meanwhile, aggy is swinging at a bunch of stuff out of the zone in the two games I saw this weekend.

Their entire approach under Schloss was to be patient to the extreme. That's completely disappeared.

  10. I will say it's kind of odd we fired somebody like Aston but not Angela Kelly.

Both have results but I view Aston as a tier above Angela Kelly. My only guess is that the reason we made a move in women's basketball is because CDC had Vic lined up. I think it's probably more difficult to pull that type of coach in soccer considering facilities, our lack of history, and how far soccer is down on our priorities.

Schlossnagle has compared Volantis to Prager quite a bit.

He looks like a front of the rotation arm maybe as early as next year.

It would be nice to keep blowing teams out like this so we can throw all these FR arms some innings.
