  1. It's been discussed. A good number of posters (more than half) seem to think it was the right decision. It clearly wasn't. OSU winning it with a touchdown and two field goals was improbable. We should've kicked the extra point so they'd need two touchdowns to tie or take the lead, in which case we still could've re-claimed the lead with a FG. There must be some chart that says when up 11, go for 2, but it was the wrong call at that point in the game.
  2. True, but that record is inflated by his last three years at Florida State. At aggy, Jimbo is 6-6 against the Power 5. Sumlin was 30-26.
  3. This. The defense was playing without Foster and Overshown and saw Green, Sterns, Jamison, and Thompson go off with injuries during the game, yet they held OSU to three FG attempts, came up with two fourth down stops, and only allowed one touchdown not gifted by the special teams. It wasn't perfect, and it certainly wasn't pretty, but it was pretty damn good under the circumstances.
  4. Seems like UCLA plays its best football once they're down 4 touchdowns or more.
  5. He does shoot off the ball well. Granted, it's face-down into the turf half the time, but if Henson can coach him up to stay on his feet and redirect that downward momentum horizontally, they could have something here.
  6. I missed the date of this tweet and read it as satire.
  7. Sounds like the perfect aggy recruit. Who cares if you win any meaningful games as long as you can slow it down enough to not get blown out on the scoreboard and stay close enough to tu in the recruiting rankings to cry conspiracy every February all year round? It's not about achieving notable results; it's all about manufacturing hype and maintaining the false illusion of hope. I mean, if this doesn't scream aggy salvation, I don't know what does.
  8. So you're saying Michael Williams didn't "walk on" there for the academics.
  9. Herman has been going furiously at that Dasani.
  10. This may be the most all-over-the-place player comparison post I've ever read. 😄
  11. Rivals era, but Tevin Jackson would like a word.
  12. Thank you for the memories of LSU's 2011 season.
  13. I can't be the only one who opened this thread expecting a lot more analysis than that.
  14. Blake Gideon thinks that's an insult to Blake Gideon.
  15. In LSU's last three road games, they lost to Florida, beat an atrocious Arkansas team 24-17, and lost to middling (albeit ref-aided) aggy. In their bowl game, they edged out UCF, which was playing with their backup QB. One thumping of Georgia State and countless declarations of a new, unbeatable offense later and they are suddenly world beaters and 4-point favorites on the road over Texas? I understand SECSECSEC and all that, but I'm not seeing the basis for this seemingly widespread confidence that LSU is going to roll into Austin and pull out a huge road win over a team that plays very well in big games.
  16. Good to see aggy already looking to 2022 as their year in recruiting.
  17. I believe Herman mentioned in the postgame that Ingram still needs to improve his vision and patience. It was surprising because that seems like one of the strongest parts of his game. That also led me to believe that it's something being emphasized by the coaches.
  18. There are some players who, from the first time they step on the field as true freshmen, already stand out, guys like Shaun Rogers, Derrick Johnson, Cedric Benson, Vince Young, and Caden Sterns. I'm not sure Sweat flashed to that level, but he sure looked like he belonged. From his first play, you're already turning your head saying, "Who's that?" It was also interesting to see Jake Smith targeted 8 times. Some of those throws were a bit off and the routes he was asked to run didn't always play to his strengths, but the number of looks he got tells you Sam already has a lot of confidence in him.
  19. Collins must've seen South Carolina and Ole Miss today and decided to take the easy way out in the BDF.
  20. Any notable injuries for LSU today? Because that would be a real shame.
  21. Yes, Sweat was at nose for the majority of his snaps, but he also lined up at right end several times with Coburn at nose. I noticed that Sweat was double-teamed on his first two snaps and pushed back the double team both times. He certainly looks the part.
