Yeah.  I'm going to have to disagree with you guys, okay?  Beto's on the records for being against weapons of war.  Translation, he's going to take away the guns of everyone in the hustings.  He's not going to convince any of those folks who believe that, and probably not their wives.

The fact he's on record saying he's not going to do that means nothing over perceived Boogie Man fears.

Beto needs to call Cruz out and start using that money to be aggressive. He’s going to lose if he doesn’t. Cruz’s aggressive negative campaign is working.

Wait for it... Timing is everything and the electorate's attention span is short.

  3. This is the first time I've donated to a political campaign and I've dropped a couple hundred. I look at it as an investment in the future of our country. This is a crossroads and I want us to take the right track.

Btw, The Candidate with Robert Redford just started on TCM. Very relevant considering.

It's there, just under the chili. Tostitos salsa con queso.  Poured it on first, then chili next, then a few more Fritos, then japs.  Prolly 3:2, chili to queso.  Didn't have any shredded; had to roll with what I had.

Kidding aside, there is some good advice above. If you're serious about joining the Armed Forces, Navy would be a good choice. I'd even offer up the Coast Guard (you'd never have to worry about going into deep water, seriously fuck the Coast Guard) though I'm not sure how tough their recruitment process is.

USCG is the hardest service to join. They are extremely picky and if you have any record they won't accept you. When everyone else is running for cover, USCG is heading into the storm. Semper Paratus.

I recommend Navy as an alternative if the Coasties turn you down. You'll go places and see cool shit you never dreamed of. Plus always a hot meal and a warm bed unlike the Army and Marines. If all else fails, Air Force.

People that bitch about California haven’t spent time there. There is something for everyone. You like Odessa? Try Bakersfield! You can have an ugly area, cheap housing and Oil operations on your property with the same heat and dust- minus the high plains blizzards.

You want blizzards go to NorCal.

  7. (CNN)Washington state's Supreme Court on Thursday ruled the death penalty was unconstitutional because it was inconsistently applied, making Washington the 20th state in the US to outlaw capital punishment.

The court said the death penalty's use varied depending on the location of the crime or the race of the accused -- a violation of the state's constitution. Budgetary resources and county of residence were also contributing factors, the ruling said.

The state has eight prisoners on death row, according to the Death Penalty Information Center, and the ruling said all their death sentences would be changed to life in prison.

"The court makes it perfectly clear that capital punishment in our state has been imposed in an 'arbitrary and racially biased manner,' is 'unequally applied' and serves no criminal justice goal," said Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, who in 2014 imposed a moratorium on the death penalty, saying it was inconsistently applied.

"This is a hugely important moment in our pursuit for equal and fair application of justice," he added.

The state has carried out five executions since the US Supreme Court reinstated capital punishment in 1976, data from the nonprofit shows. All five defendants were white.

But studies have indicated race does play a role in juries' decision to sentence a defendant to death. A study from the University of Washington found jurors in the state were "more than four times more likely to impose a death sentence if the defendant is black."

The ruling was handed down Thursday morning in the case of Allen Eugene Gregory, who was convicted and sentenced to death in 2001 for the murder of of a woman five years prior, according to court documents.

The court said it would not reconsider Gregory's conviction of aggravated first-degree murder.

In a statement, the American Civil Liberties Union praised the court's decision.

"Washington's Supreme Court showed courage in refusing to allow racism to infect life and death decisions," said Jeff Robinson, the ACLU's deputy legal director and director of the Trone Center for Justice. "Let's hope that courage is contagious."

I’ve bought a few bottles from that store during OU weekends in the past.

If it was 1999 - 2001 I probably sold it to ya. That store sat on the dry line of north Dallas and was busy as hell until Denton Co went wet. We sold $465,000 on New Years Eve 1999. That was in 11 hours. Had DPS directing traffic in the parking lot. It was insane.

And apparently Robin Masters is a real person vs Higgins’ pen name in the original. I like the show so far.

That story changed during the original show. In the first few seasons you saw glimpses of Robin every now and then (kinda like Charlie on Charlie's Angels). He was an Orson Welles type. Later it changed to Higgins pen name.
