  1. My daily life reminds me of the part in "A Christmas Story" where the wife walks back into the house to turn off the leg lamp so as to no waste electricity.  My wife has piles of old receipts, papers, shoes, opened boxes that are just dropped in place, etc.  I leave one thing out on my desk or the kids leave a cord out and here comes the stink eye.

I've taken to keeping a small mirror within reach for such times.

We know folks like you. Sugar in the bbq sauce kind of folks. Even the French don’t eat a fucking hamburger with fucking brioche. No one knew what brioche was a couple years ago. Now WalMart has a all kinds of brioche shit. Brioche flavored shave cream next to the pumpkin spice.

I see you are a WalMart guy.  Good for you.

I’ve had sliders on a griddled split Krispy Kreme donut. It just fell apart. I’ve also had it one on a larger grocery store bakery donut. Wasn’t a fan. What I really don’t like in current burger fads is the brioche bun. Brioche makes great French toast or bread pudding. Sucks as a burger bun. Give me a fucking Mrs Bairds sesame seed bun. It’s Gods preferred burger bun.

I’m thinking an Apple fritter might be adapted into sandwich service of some type.

I'm the opposite.  Most buns are way too bready.  Brioche works well.

  4. My buddy wanted to name his first kid (a girl) after his dad, who has a unisex type of name. His dad said, please don't, I hate my name. They did it anyway but spelled it all fucked up, just to be different I guess. Years later, he told me "I regret that. She's gonna have people pronouncing her name wrong for the rest of her life".

My dad is a Jr. First name is Estil. I asked why he didn’t name me the third one time. His response, “I’ve been called Biff my whole life and it isn’t because I liked my real name. I sure as hell ain’t passing it on to you.”

What the hell does your buddy do for a living?

His old company moved into a building and redid a large part of it.  He was the President and I guess it was in his office closet.

I suspect you'll end up doing really well.  the growth/roll up of residential service companies is a tried and true strategy (not without massive headaches you've share about on your thread).

It's possible, but what we "should" get has lessened substantially since we changed capital partners and has me gruntled.

If I had the time or desire, I would invest in SMB manufacturers in the US or roll-up local service companies that owners are about to retire with no succession plan.

I'm doing a roll up with a PE group focused on Residential services. I think they are going about it backwards but I'm aware PE wants bigger returns sooner.

If they do buy him out, I wonder who's on their shortlist and what is realistic. I'm sure Urban Meyer is who the fans will want. Would he go there? He's a total piece of shit, so he checks that box. But just like when we were looking for a coach, there doesn't seem to be an obvious candidate outside of UM.

    Bill Cowher obviously.

I don’t understand why Worthy keeps fair catching punts on the 5 yard line. This is a no-no. Basically, a football taboo. Does anyone communicate this to him? Does he just laugh and say,”I don’t care. It’s fun to do bad things.” Do I have a dinosaur perspective and the new cool thing to do is catch it on the 5? Help me.

This has been driving me insane.  Why they field anything inside the 10 is beyond me.

  10. Agree 99% except that blown coverage was on Gbenda. J. Thompson was pissed cause he told him who to take and Gbenda was lost as usual and it cost us.

JT peeled off his guy but it was too late.

    Absolutely correct.
  11. Just happy to see some validation that the steps OU has taken post Lincoln are working. Texas was a good football team. Certainly the best version of Texas I’ve seen in a long time. I thought OU was at a great disadvantage in the trenches but they ended up dominating for large portions of the game.

I thought the loss of Majors was huge. OU got pressure up the middle and the usually cohesive unit began to miss a lot of blocks.
