Yeah I care that you neg anyone for having any opinion you don’t like and constantly inserting your bullshit into an otherwise interesting thread. Literally everyone is fucking sick of it already. And in this group, it’s 90% BYU fans instigation the same shit over and over and over again, and posting the same memes multiple times a day. I always said there is no comparison to aggy when it comes to inflated sense of self worth and serious hatred for a rival foosball team, but goddamn you guys are close.
I'm sorry to hear your facebook group is having a hard time. Best of luck.

I tried telling posters on here and in the Big XII leftovers thread how insufferable BYU fans are. This guy is the embodiment of the typical BYU fan that has an inflated sense of their place in the college sports landscape. Utah has spent the last two bowl seasons in Pasadena while BYU has had the opportunity to holiday in Shreveport and Albuquerque.
Nobody cares how much you hate BYU.

I think pods would be useful for scheduling purposes. Play your pod every season, and two from each other pods that rotate. CCG is two highest ranked, like other conferences are going to it seems.
The only question mark would be who would be the fourth team in the east pod. I think it should be UH since they have history with Cincy and UCF, and OSU has history with TCU, BU, and Tech, and ISU has history with CU, KU, and KSU. It should be
West: BYU, UU, AU, ASU
East: WVU, Cincy, UCF, UH
South: TCU, Tech, BU, OSU
North: CU, KU, KSU, ISU
I dig it

For BYU, obviously Utah, and then would add TCU (got beef from MWC days) and Baylor (religion component would make it spicier).

Utah doing everything it can to avoid joining the B12, but the B12 is going to vote them in anyway is distateful. I get teams wanting B10 or SEC over anything else, but Utah seems to almost be going in kicking and screaming. Have some self respect B12.

The thing about this is that almost all of the comments comparing utah to aggy are from non-BYU fans in here. I may like the posts, but I haven't compared them once. Dreamer maybe once. I think it's funny that a bunch of fans of other schools are coming to the conclusion on their own without me/BYU fans in here (2 of us as far as I can tell) uttering a word, that lots of Utah fans are highly delusional and arrogant.

It's crazy, back before Urban Meyer came in 2003, their fanbase was small and limited to pockets in SLC and Davis/Weber Counties and the rivalry was friendly and good natured. Then Urban Meyer came and turned it toxic, they started winning and all of their fans started coming out of the wood works and by fans, I mean those who use the rivalry as an avenue of hate towards LDS and the LDS church. They were obnoxious before, but became completely insufferable and toxic after and after moving up to the Pac 12, they became delusional and arrogant in every way, they were and are completely toxic. They lack self awareness because their football heritage goes back all of 20 years and they are obsessed with and hate BYU more then they support and root for their own program.
You're right. Urban Meyer wouldn't mention BYU by name; just called us "the school down south" and he put BYU logos in the urinals. A real class act.

Although it is not completely finalized yet, Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah are all likely to join the Big 12 together
Announcement as soon as Friday.
Utah has now done a 180 and wants to join the Big 12. However, if it is to fall apart, Utah is the most likely reason why

According to the video above and Thamel article itself that Arizona, Arizona St, and Utah are expected to lump their future together.
Utah, ASU, and AZ joining together is different than other messages out there.
According to this article, which quotes ESPN’s Ian Fitzsimmons on SiriusXM College Sports radio mentioning that he was told, “Utah isn’t exactly returning the phone calls,” with the Big 12 Conference. Fitzsimmons mentioned that he spoke about Utah to an official of the Big 12 Conference official who said, “They’re OK in hoops, but they sell out (their football stadium) in a top 35 media market.” He then asked about when it comes to TV dollars why aren’t they going after the Utes? He was reportedly told that Utah isn’t exactly returning the phone calls.
He continued by saying, “I was told that Utah doesn’t want to appear to be following their rival in BYU. We all know that college athletics can be damn petty but I mean, look, we’re talking about your future. Pick up the phone.”
Maybe this is changing as stark reality starts to hit Utah, and Thamel is now right, but I hope Utah is stupid enough to stay in the WAC10.

Serious question: Who's your 6th team? CAL, STAN, OST, WST, SDSU, FRENSO.
I'd prefer a California team. B12 wants to be the premier hoops league. I'd go Stanford or alternatively SDSU. Cal can get bent.

The model for the BIG18 works incredibly well, though eighteen probably wouldn't work elsewhere. In the B18, You would have three regions of 6 teams. The West: BYU, UU, UO, UW, UA, AST. The North: Kansas, KST, ISU, Cincy, WVU, CU. The South: Tech, OST, TCU, BU, UH, UCF. So, Annually Tech would play five games in their region and One road game in the west and host one west team AND they'd play one North team at home and one on the road. UO would play their 5 western rivals each season, then host one south team and visit one south team, host one North team and visit one North team. Therefore west of the rockies teams will only have to travel East of the rockies twice a season. West of the Rockies teams will have 2 meaningful games a season in the CTZ while hosting multiple East of the rockies teams. This greatly reduces the old PAC12 teams isolation. During the 6 year term of the current media rights deal, Tech would play each west school at home once and on the road once and each North school at home once and on the road once.
I like this except you included UU.

Just drove up to pick up a new passport and was listening to PAC12 Sirius channel.
You know it’s bad when state-run media (I think both hosts are Utah guys) are absolutely savaging Klownkoff.
After months of mostly toeing the party line, these guys sound like they finally read this thread and figured out Klownkoff was an empty suit, there is no deal, they screwed up repeatedly with not taking B12 schools, etc, etc.
Everything they said was spot on, and has never been heard on PAC12 radio before now, at least when I’ve been listening.
This is a massive shift in tone. Is Klownkoff finally going to get the axe, or has Utah’s President realized he needs to make a B12 move asap and is laying the media groundwork through these two alums ?
They are probably finally coming to the realization that BYU is in a better situation than them now and there is a significant chance they get relegated to MWC+. Or, almost as bad, they have to swallow their pride and follow BYU to the Big 12, if there is even an open spot for them, which there very well may not be. Their identity has been so wrapped up in rubbing shoulders with Stanford and Cal and being in a better sports position than BYU, that I am not sure they are mentally able to make the move.

ND is going to bring Stanford in with them. There's a reason they play them every year, and the BIG will let ND bring in whoever they want as a partner.
USC and UCLA will strongly support it, whereas they've lobbied against the PNW schools from day 1.
The BIG Presidents would love to add Stanford, and if they come in with ND, they will all still make more money because ND brings so much value.
All the BIG schools want to recruit CA more and engage with their massive alum base in the Bay Area.
Bay Area will also bring in big $$$ for BTN, and getting Stanford into their research consortium would be a huge coup.
None of those things apply to UO. It's the exact opposite situation in all those categories- bad recruiting, small market, weak academics, no BIG alums nearby.
The big question is if UO is clear-eyed enough to see the reality of their situation and recognize that the Big 12 is their best option?

If Utah feels like he's done enough to overcome his scandal, they might make Morgan Scalley their next head coach.
2020 Scandal info
They gave Scalley a new contract in 2022
"New contract for Utah DC Morgan Scalley includes $1.4M salary, substantial buyout"
If they feel like Scalley is their best option, they'll deem him rehabilitated, which I think will be the likeliest outcome.

I don't think Utah brings much to the table. They don't have a national following, and the Big 12 already has BYU. Utah looks good right now because they've recently dominated the Pac in football. But other than that, what do they bring?
Arizona hasn't been good in football for an eternity, but they are the flagship university of a state that the Big 12 is not in currently. And they are a basketball power.
I say if it can be done, and granted it's a huge ass if, the Big 12 should get Oregon, Udub, and Arizona and call it done. Then at the end of the day they will have brought in 4 flagship universities in states they weren't in before. Two are current football powers, one has shown a remarkable commitment to its football program over the past year, and one who brings a basketball pedigree unrivaled by the rest in the Pac 12 not named UCLA.
Heavy speculation that Whittingham is close to retiring, maybe even as soon as the end of the upcoming season. Utah's last two coaching hires have been exceptional (Urban Meyer and Whittingham), but can they do it again? They may enter a period of mediocrity soon.
