At first I was like "what the fuck?"  Then I realized that you meant "That BEATS parents in the past shitting on the program"  and all was right in my world.

I really get the feeling that Sark is starting to get it firing on all cylinders.

Yeah exactly what I meant. Thanks a lot autocorrect

  3. Bobby:

The Horns, in their first conference road game of the season, head to Fort Worth to take on TCU.

    Quarterback
Max Duggan has beaten Texas twice. Each time it’s been his ability to move the chains with his legs that has made the difference. Expect more of the same Saturday morning. But he’s not entirely a one-trick pony. Duggan is far from a polished passer but he has decent arm strength and he can get hot for stretches of the game. Casey Thompson enters the game with absurd numbers for his first two college football starts. Is Thompson for real? This game should tell us a lot.
    Texas

    Running back
On paper, this is the match-up of the day. The no. 1 RB in the country in the class of 2020 versus the no. 2 RB. Bijan vs Zach. Both are tremendous players, can find a crease and take it the distance. But add in Roschon Johnson and Keilan Robinson and the match-up starts to tilt.
    Texas

    Wide receiver
While Texas receivers have seemingly come alive this season, the TCU receivers may be the strength of their offense. Both Quentin Johnston and Taye Barber are future NFL players and can be deep threats. Barber doesn’t get much notoriety, but he can fill up the box score. Xavier Worthy has been a revelation for the Horns while Jordan Whittington has, knock on wood, stayed healthy and been a steady presence.
    TCU

    Tight End
TCU doesn’t use its tight end group nearly as liberally as the Horns, nor do they have the experience odepth.
    Texas

    Offensive line
TCU’s offensive line is solid, especially if their center who was injured each of the last two weeks can return on Saturday. Texas’ offensive line, after two weeks of excellent play, appears to be getting better and more cohesive. Or was it just the teams they were playing (we all saw what happened against Arkansas)? If the Texas OL plays well this weekend, particularly in pass protection, then we are seeing them become a potential team strength.

    Defensive line
Before the season, I thought the Horns and Horned Frogs had two of the top three defensive lines in the conference (to go with Oklahoma). Now, I have questions about both of them. However, TCU’s issues have come from injuries to their best edge player and their best DT, as well as a key back-up there. They’re all supposed to be back this week. Until someone other than Moro Ojomo steps up and starts disrupting plays with any regularity, this is an easy call.
    TCU

    Linebacker
While Texas linebackers haven’t exactly lit the world on fire this season, TCU’s have been uncharacteristically poor. They are missing run fits and not being the combined fail-safe and disruptor in the hole that Gary Patterson typically gets from this unit. Texas needs to consider spying Duggan in this game with DeMarvion Overshown, who should be up to the task. Brockermeyer isn’t quite quick enough to do it effectively.
    Texas

    Secondary
Until proven otherwise, the Texas secondary is overrated. The safeties, outside of Jerrin Thompson, just aren’t producing much in the way of pass defense or even run support. The corners got beat deep twice against Texas Tech. TCU expects to return Noah Daniels at corner this week and Daniels is as legit as they come. However, TCU has had its own issues with shoddy safety play.

    Special teams
Both teams have good returners. I wouldn’t be surprised if either team made a big play in the return game. Cameron Dicker probably has more ability from distance on field goals than his counterpart but Dicker’s accuracy has been average at best this season. TCU’s punter has been one of the nation’s best, while Texas has shown a penchant for blocking punts the last couple of weeks. As for Texas punting, they haven’t done it in the last nine quarters of play.

A single booster just pledged millions of dollars to hire industry experts and professionals whos sole purpose it is to find deals and get Oregon payers paid. A professional staff without the intent to make a profit as a business solely to find money for Oregon players. That’s their full time, high paid jobs.

Imagine a professional fund raiser at a charity or non profit with the sole purpose to get money to players, with a billionaire backing it and not giving a fuck about making money. It’s a game changer.

Oregon is doing exactly what and how we thought our NIL should be performed. They will be a force moving forward especially with the digital era bagmen. They're the model/future of what NIL/pre NILL should be.

Quick point of personal privilege, guys. Can we please keep the dart bowl chatter to a minimum? I’m one of the people who’s very, very prone to sensory overload in surly threads. It’s making it very difficult for me to focus. Please, I know we’re all fresh and ready to go, but can we please just keep the dart bowl chatter to a minimum?

I’m pretty sure you’re provolone on that opinion.

"Neighbor, how long's it been since you've had yourself a big bowl of Wolf Brand Chili? ... Well that's too long!"

Growing up poor with parents who tried had its culinary downsides - meatloaf, cheerios, chicken and dumplings, tons of fucking canned green beans and the like. But it had its upside as well. Hormel chili all the time, chicken fried steak/chicken, fried chicken, many stews, pot roasts, anything that could stretch for multiple meals for $4, hell fucking yes.

I've since eaten at some of the finest restaurants in the world. It's all fucking great except for the few things I named earlier, to me. Green beans of any sort are the fucking devil. I don't care what steakhouse or french place I'm at, if they have green beans on a plate as a "seasonal vegetable", especially after I've asked about what those involve and they didn't mention them, the whole fucking plate is going back - the only time I ever send something back. Ruins the taste of the whole damned plate.

Yes, middle-aged man yells at cloud and such.

Reminded me of an old recipe I used to make in college and eat on for a few days:

1 or 2 cans wolf brand chili/hormel with beans

    1 package of these:

1 package of Mexican blend cheese

    1 jalapeño slices

pour half a can of chili into bottom of baking dish. place the burritos in the baking dish empty other can(s) of chili on top. Top with cheese and jalapeños. Bake 350 for 45 min - 1 hour

god it was so awesomely bad.

Had 5 manhattans at a happy hour and then my house the other night, wife wasn't pleased or hungry/cooking, so I needed something quick. The kids don't eat the Frito's that come in the chip variety packs. Hormel chili with spicy jalapeno sauce, a bag of frito's, and a pile of cheese later, bam!, my first Frito pie in a decade. Absolutely fucking delicious. Also, preemptively fuck all of the chili snobs - hormel is fine in a drunk pinch at 9:30 on a weekday.

  7. By: Team Effort

Steve Sarkisian will have a press conference around 11:15 this morning. We’ll see what he says, but until then…

It’s always good to get unsolicited messages stating, ”Practice this week has been great, both sides. Great competition.” Practice isn’t always indicative of how a team will play (2015 RRS comes to mind), but more often than not focused practices lead to focused play. As I stated last week, I’m not picking up on any over-confidence within the program. It’s very business-like which has been Sark’s intention since he arrived.

Most noteworthy from a personnel standing, IT fully expects Darion Dunn to get his first start of the season. The graduate cornerback has played quite well in his limited snaps. On the play right before Shough’s rushing touchdown (poorly leveraged by BJ Foster) Dunn whipped the receiver and made a play that should have helped lead to a field goal. That was pretty early in the game. He should be ready.

There’s some rumor mill stuff regarding wide receiver Joshua Moore’s health but we expect him to play.

Troy Omeire did in fact have season ending knee surgery. It’s the same knee he injured previously. We hear “he’s doing fine and ready to start rehab.” The second-year player has a lot of promise but now we’ll have to wait to see how he moves after his second surgery.

right, but all he did was use his phone to try to give some out of town family members directions to the game so they could come watch him play? Am I really supposed to believe that all his scholarship offers were pulled because of this and he was left choosing between TCU and UNT?

Seems strange that you guys are so hung up and seemingly upset about Zach Evans recruitment, especially when y'all were out of it having already landed Bijan Robinson. Sorry that it seem I am the messenger regarding TCU's recruiting success lately but I'm not sure why that makes some of you angry.

There are plenty of 4 stars on the TCU team that chose TCU over Bama straight out of high school, another one just did three days ago. No reason for this to be upsetting.

Welp… need a heavy dose of Wiley this game.

May be addition by subtraction if Dixon/Washington get more time. Moore has been rather non existent this year and has struggled to get open.
