    Getting old sucks

Buenos dias a todos! I managed to get a cup of coffee 9will need a cup with a lid) and sneak outside without the wife knowing. Due to my manner or dress I didn't stay long. I even managed to drop a deuce today. All the good times will be short lived though, today is my first real day of PT. The swelling will cause issues today, I'm sure. There's no going back so I'm gonna have to make it work. The initial assessment was good with the range of motion but left leg strength was not so good. I still have a wound vac bandage that will not come off until Thursday and that is wrapped by an Ace bandage. I'll get a picture of the scar for later; I hear chicks dig scars. I'll be glad to see those things go this week. I'm doing fair with the walker. By that I mean I don't tire out, and I maneuver pretty good through the haus. I'm under haus arrest for 2 weeks until I get a follow up with the Dr. Just PT and good times ahead. ou sux
  2. Missed it ^^^. I'm gonna have a lot of time on hands to watch this week. Missed this too.

    Getting old sucks

To be honest, I never put real serious thought into it either. Both sets of my Great grandparents and grandparents lived well past 90. Evidently, Dad (84) is doing well also. I'll be 60 next Feb and have never spent a night in a hospital except maybe when I was spawned. If I remember, I'll ask dad today. We've already drew blood, urine samples, and EKGs on 2 separate occasions. Yesterday, the med staff asked again. Allergies to...? Nothing, I guess. Are you diabetic? No Have high BP? No Who's your Cardio Dr? No got What are your routine meds? No got They about fell out when I told 'em I'm not staying overnight. Dr. Jones is allowing me to go home once I get back conscious and he approves of my condition. Weirdly, enough my dad broke his left leg on Oct 18 last year. It's my left knee on the 16th. Apples don't fall from the tree, I guess.
  4. Exactly this. We have no timeline, so we can come and go or be fast or slow. Any kind of "dive", over night spot (haunted is cool w me, not the wife), or don't miss activity. Since Surly has so many folks scattered all over the state we should get some really good ideas. I'll be cooped up in the haus for a few weeks on the mend starting Friday. This will be like letting the dog off the leash on a crisp cool day. The first thing my wife thought of was Basecamp out in Terlingua. That would be an overnighter, so the next day we'll need a lunch somewhere. Another place I've heard good things about is Underwood's in Brownwood and also the Love Shack in Fort Worth. Sadler's in Jacksonville will most likely be part of the first leg, then turn back W or "NW-ish", then .... ? The peppered strip sounds like my wheelhouse BTW. Did you make or would recommend reservations? I'd venture to guess reservations for sure on the weekends, not so much Tuesday thru Friday.
  5. It is true my attention wasn't 100% on the game. We have plenty of distractions around right now. The interior of the haus is being painted, primary bathroom under a small renovation, and knee surgery tomorrow, So, we were putting together a plan for Wednesday "to do's" and the remainder of the week. I enjoy the bend but don't break defenses, but I get the fact that most folks like scoring. I did not keep up with the yellow flags, but it is football and beats a Hallmark movie any day of the week. CUSA games tonight, including a hapless Sam Houston team. Maybe they get a W tonight against UTEP.
  6. 15-14 Wolves win. Maybe next year, Jags.
  7. Good game in my book, I don't mind low scoring games especially if the game is not penalty ladened. Time for some nut cuttin'.
  8. Wolves knocking at the door.
  9. uh oh. this could be a problem. Defense better get the ball back.
  10. Jaguars are deep in the Red Wolves territory. 4 minutes in the 4th quarter, both teams have 3 TO's left.
  11. Red Wolves bust a long run got down inside the 10 and scored a TD on the next play. Jags 14 Wolves went for 2, settle the 12.
  12. 14-6 Ark St gets a FG early in the 4th.
  13. And....just like that Applewhite and crew get the TD. 14-3 3 quarter almost over.
  14. Jags are back on offense thanks to the INT. 3 quarter with 3 minutes to play.
  15. Jags stop 3 plays from inside the 5, then block the FG. 7-3 Jags 3rd quarter.
  16. Halftime in Mobile Jaguars 7 Red Wolves 3.
  17. 7-3 in Mobile. Jags on top. Early 2nd quarter.
  18. 7-0 For the Fightin' Major Applewhites
  19. Halfway thru the first quarter and still throwing 0's on the scoreboard. Butch Jones looks like he's gonna blow a gasket.
  20. Underway in Mobile, let's what Major has cookin' tonight.
  21. Well, you know what they say about the road to Hell. I'm building a 6 lane highway complete with strip centers and railways.
  22. Did I miss? SOB, I meant well.
  23. Here's your choices. Getting close to kickoff.
  24. gimme the good, the bad and the in between. The wife and I are in the beginning stages of a TX road trip and Perini's is the first place I thought of. No real destination or days, we are gonna pick some great food spots and then connect the dots. So, if you know of great breakfast, lunch or midnight snack joint speak up and build a case. Maybe we'll all learn something.
  25. You could run an open tab at a bar of our choosing. That might help.
