yep. The narcissist can’t walk around with a hard on all day because he knows the entire world’s economies rise and fall at his stupid social media posts.    I’m not sure everyone realizes how important that is to him.

the narrative should be that “the judges saved the economy”.

It's finally fucking over. Be sure to keep your phone handy to browse while "watching" it in the background.

      Reveal hidden contents

It involves about 300 words of dialogue, long sweeping shots, indulgent close-ups of June's scowling smiling face, the reappearance of a character we're supposed to remember whom I've totally forgotten and unsure why I should give a shit, and a slow-song music video of sorts.

Nothing else really happens -- just pointless chats with friends we've met along the way.

Edit: It looks like there's supposed to be a sequel series called 'The Testaments' based on another Atwood novel from 2019 that follows up on her original one in this universe. It supposedly will follow the daughter 3-4 years later when the kid is high school age.

i would be all over a prequel that showed gilead's rise to power.

We binged all of Sirens Friday night.  Wife liked it better than me.  It’s Kevin bacon, Meghann Fay, Juliette Moore in an elitist soap opry.

we started it, and after one episode i said i was out, but the wife kept watching.

by the end of ep2, it was growing on me, and then episodes 3 and 4 were pretty awesome.

i didn't think there was much of a twist, so i wouldn't watch or not watch based on that. they finished pretty strong and kept the dark comedy coming in some fun ways. lots of fun characters and the tone change saved the show. i think it's worth a watch, if only because the cast is stacked.

  4. my main gripe about s3 was about the narrative momentum.

s2 saw richie and others take positive steps to fix shit going on in their lives/their attitude. s3 all of a sudden they're back to constant yelling and screaming over each other and lack of professionalism. the lack of growth we saw in s3 almost makes me think the magic we saw in s2 was fake. and that was a significant bummer.

but yeah, cena was not it.

How about this: “Republicans are destroying your country and making you poor. vote for us if you want more and safe streets”

or just keep repeating pete’s dream for america and make the opposition argue against it.

any dem who is shitting on pete after that podcast hated him before (likely for stupid/petty reasons) or didn’t listen, or both.

any non-dem shitting on pete is scared shitless now that he has a beard.

When Sorkin left after season 4, the tone changed dramatically.  I wasn't a big fan of season 5, but it did give us one episode that was outstanding.  "Abu el Banat", about the Bartlets celebrating Christmas at the White House.  Pretty well written episode, and maybe the only one in my top 10 from seasons 5-7.

don’t care what anyone says, s6+s7 are quality tv. at least the episodes surrounding the races.

    s5 is garbage.

Hot take..... Maeve is the "grass" and is working some sort of revenge angle on Brosnan and the family.  Someone tipped them to where that dude's body was buried.  Also, I'm not sure the grandkid did the murder unless I nodded off in the first episode.  He hasn't admitted it fully yet, right?

that whole thing was not handled well. they kept introducing new people every 3 minutes in the pilot and then in ep2 reference some disappearance-assumed-murder. the wife and i were like "were we drunk? did we miss a murder?" but not so worried that we actually went back to investigate.

this show is not quite guy ritchie enough for me yet, but i'll keep going. if they wanted me to care about the feud between the 2 families, they should've opened with that, not two random crime orgs that were about to get wiped out just to show that hardy's bunch were ruthless and now there's a vacuum in the fentanyl trade.

for a brief time, i was inspired to adopt lord john marbury's memorable greetings in my own life by complimenting women more effusively about their magnificent breasts...as well as referring to people i wanted to needle as gerald.

i am john, lord marbury, earl of croy, marquess of needham and dolby, baronet of brycey, england's ambassador to the united states. a terrorist is a terrorist even if he wears a green necktie and sings "danny boy." yes, you can call me john.

She was in just enough. Her self-righteous attitude would wear pretty thin. Cutting Josh's phone cord was bullshit.

josh and his planet-sized ego needed a foil. he was better with her around.

  10. in the current episode, she says "if you threw a stapler at me you'd be dead, like scott rudin." to which sal says "is he dead?" and the reply was "professionally."

fun fact, when i first interned on the paramount lot in 1997, our office was about 30 yards from rudin's side door and the interns and assistants routinely would escape from there and come into our reception area to cry. we didn't have much going on and used to hear horrific stories, mostly about him throwing stuff at people, so this hits close to home. not for me, but for people that i briefly knew a few decades ago.
