  1. I actually think he likely considered it the opposite: In the NFL, you can lose games and it doesn't derail your season. And if you have a particularly bad season, you're compensated through draft picks. For a guy that has had to avoid any losses in the college game to be considered "successful," that's way less stressful.
  2. And the slow play in letting him go saves Texas from having to pay his buyout. Somewhere Steve Patterson nods approvingly.
  3. I know there's been some talk back and forth here of whether Texas might try to throw its hat in the ring with Morris. Didn't he play on the same high school team as Kenyatta Watson? Pretty sure I remember the Woody from Toy Story local news dude emceeing their joint commitment ceremony. Wonder how Kenyatta's bad experiences under Herman would affect any consideration Moirris would give Texas.
  4. I wonder if he has slept since Monday, yet? He looked pretty rough yesterday.
  5. What, exactly, does this mean? Also, if we're looking to fill out the personnel department, we really ought to think about picking off some of the guys that Baylor has been making hay with the past few years.
  6. This is quite an understatement, given that folks were worried that he fucking paralyzed himself in the Tech game by trying to jump over a defender.
  7. Posted this in the 2021 thread but it probably actually belongs here.
  8. I love RoJo and his selflessness, but if LJ came, he would pass RoJo on the depth chart by the end of the year--just like Bijan did.
  9. While I'm glad I didn't have to watch a puppy die after opening this thread in the morning, can you fuckers take the "who invented fajitas" bullshit elsewhere?
  10. V disappointed she did not add, "Respect my decision"
  11. This is fucking stupid. Saban could roll the offense back to the Greg McElroy days and insist on winning 9-7 rock fights every week, and he'd still win the SEC and make the playoffs every year.
  12. This is the oldest thing I've ever read on this website.
  13. This is all fine and good in hindsight. But no one was thinking/posting this at the time.
  14. I distinctly recall thinking that Strong had an utter lack of ability to string two sentences together, but figured it would be "fine" because his Louisville teams showed he had a real nose for talent. I recall being very impressed by Herman's (especially in comparison to Strong's) and thinking that he said all the right things.
  15. "Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope."
  16. All this talk of three man fronts has me really excited to see what a real defensive staff can finally get out of Naashon Hughes.
  17. That would surprise me. Howe is fine, but he goes decidedly against IT's style of thinking they're writing real journalism that is proofread and (intended to be) witty. Nahlin and Co's jokes don't always land, but they're always trying to turn a phrase and captivate their reader. Howe's work, on the other hand, is basically a recursion of his self: large amounts of pabulum pumped out and plopped guilelessly in front of an audience.
  18. And obviously his refusal to interview reflected very well upon him and that's why he got offered the job, right?
  19. If only there were an entire subforum on this site for these discussions. Oh well, can't expect @immamacto have thought of everything. Maybe after this site gets shut down and we move to the next site, we can get this added.
