I've been impressed with OU's OL progress throughout the year. Paradoxically, the turnaround for that group was the RRR fiasco. It's awesome that all except the center will likely be leaving so they'll have to start from scratch. The center, Raym, is the most inconsistent player. So yeah, not great.
Mims has dropped enough balls for me to retract my unconditional opinion that he's going pro. Farooq is more consistent. OU's going to have to go hard for WR in the portal.
The B12 has two great back, Deuce and Bijan, but Eric Gray at OU give the B12 second team a back who plays winning football running, catching, blocking. He'll be missed too.
Overall, OU should have AT LEAST 21 and as many as 28 on the board:
1. Mims drop
2. Mims-Gabriel miscommunication
3. Willis' lapse on the short TD tossBut OU's now a bad offensive team too with other penalties on short yardage.
Except for the last drive, OU made a bad offense look bad, which is an improvement. DaShaun White has played really well since the UT game also, sort of like Brian Asamoah last year. He'd be a beast next year but is out of eligibility. White was in position to pick off and house one of those screen passes today.

That's just ludicrous revisionist history. Bijan was never considering OU. They had a commitment from McClellan and they were happy about that. But McClellan said fuck all that and bolted for Bama two days before signing day and they were left with their dicks in their hands (as a snack for Lincoln Riley). Bijan never visited OU.

The basis of these comments may be the following. As I remember it, Bijan made an unofficial visit swing during the summer before his senior year. OU was apparently on his list of visits, per one of the recruiting site podcasts, probably rivals.
The story was that OU told him not to come because he was further down their internal list. OU had McClellan and Jaylon Knighton (Miami) committed at the time and was still courting Kendall Milton (Georgia) and Zach Evans to some degree.
I met Halle Berry once. Meeting Halle Berry is a prerequisite to having sex with her. So I could say I almost had sex with Halle Berry just like OU almost got Bijan Robinson.

I don't understand how they could be complaining about recruiting at all. They're a goddamn dumpster fire, got de-depantsed on national TV by their rival, and still have managed to salvage a top-10 class with a 5-star QB, a 5-star EDGE, and several other top-100/250 players. It's a goddamn miracle they're doing so well on the recruiting front.
OU's 2023 class has more top 100 players, seven, than ANY Sooner class since 2005.
As a Sooner fan, OU fans have no perspective.

Looked like spanberger was going to lose.
Yup, seems ridiculous, but her opponent was pouring money into the race.

Hicks being so vocal about our scheme seems like total bullshit unless his family is just dumb or using that as a cover up for $.
OU and A&M fans have been vocal about their defensive coordinators running way too much 3 man fronts this year. Neither of those schools offer an advantage over Texas with scheme.
OU's d-line has regressed to the point that they can't get lined up right at this point. If OU played the run as badly as they did vs UT, they win over Baylor.
Not a great selling point for defensive line recruits at this point.

Thinks Vasek gone. May go after aggy DE commit that is friends with Hicks. Also thinks Akana is a good chance for blOU
Decommits and Flipmas has arrived | Colton Vasek | Anthony Hill | Oklahoma Sooners | OU | thePGshow
Where do you find this stuff? OU's 247 guys blush at this randos homerism.
OU ain't getting uncommitted top defensive talent with the way they're currently playing and without NIL and "pre-NIL". OU staff is throwing out offers to "plan B" guys (still legal ! ). Just keeping their current defensive players would be awesome.

Unfortunately the shit that happened the night of Jan. 5th should have been put down as if they were a bunch of…..we will say terrorists of foreign origin, and then we wouldn’t be having these discussions.
Even the police in DC are right-leaning. Wasn't going to happened.
It was well known that there was going to be trouble downtown on the 6th. Business closed in anticipation of it. I know because mine did.
DC police knew it too. The only thing that was unknown was the target and the scale.

can't say the n word
If they have enough money they can say it several times and MAYBE someone will speak out.
Then they get paid billions of dollars to sell something they did little to develop.

Does Bijan play in a shitty bowl?
Horns have a good shot at NY6 game.
UT / Kansas St for the #2 spot in the conference championship. UT's got the better team, but K St has the easier schedule.

General thoughts:
-I wish he’d shut the fuck up to the refs. Yes, we’re getting comically boned week in and week out, but at this point I think the refs are doing it BECAUSE he’s screaming at them every time. Just shut up. I think the players are buying into some woe is us shit.At the margins, the refs won't help you AT ALL if you behave like him. Also, the inability to control your behavior shows lack of discipline to your team. The "move on to the next play" is important mantra to play and live by, and he's showing he isn't capable of it.

plenty of posters here trying to get Gundy's dick out of their mouth right about now
As Sooner fan who certainly has no specific love of Gundy, I admire how much he gets out of his team annually. One game doesn't change this.

OU running the ball effectively today is the best thing about this game so far.

When OU can run the ball, Gabriel has huge windows to find receivers, and the offense is fluid. When the Sooners can't run the ball, Gabriel's inaccuracy shows, and the offense stalls.
Despite the disastrous offensive performance vs UT, OU's OL may have had it's best run blocking game to date. The OL improved upon that vs a weak Kansas DL. Further growth in the OL will be key to OU's offense. Iowa St, Baylor, and Ok St have average to better DL that'll test OU's OL.
The OU defense has been a tire fire, especially vs the run. The Kansas run game is good, and OU perform okay vs the Jayhawks (with backup QB) rushing attack. That's the only positive. OU's defense just has to try to improve through the rest of the season, again.
I think every game is a toss up for the Sooners with OU holding somewhere between a 40 - 60% pre-game win expectancy. This is very different for OU fans. Just last year, prior to the beginning of the year, OU had a > 70% win expectancy in 9 or 10 games and had a > 50% in all.

I guess we'll see. This is a big visit weekend for OU commits and targets, and he's in Austin. Not a great look.
Venables' policy is now apparently that commits can't go on official visits to other schools (eyeroll).
That said, the heartburn OU fans have for Vasek is misplaced.
OU's biggest issues on the DL at 0, 1, and 3 technique, and the Sooners are in jeopardy of missing on their 3 options at those positions: Hicks, Deal and Kayden McDonald. It would be nice if OU keeps Vasek, but I'd trade Vasek for any of the the interior DL options at this point. OU's got Adebawore and shot at Tausili Akana, whose highlight film looks as good as Vasek's.
The Sooners should focus on getting either Deal or McDonald and keep after Akana so they're ready if/when Vasek goes.

Watching USC this year, for me, is like watching OU for the last 5 years. This game is essentially the same as the 2019 OU-Iowa St game except Iowa St missed the 2 point conversion.
