  2. Maiden was awesome last night as always. Thank you @thunderlounge
  3. I saw Tom Petty there from the 6th row q month before he died. I saw Jackson Browne there Friday. Great show. I knew I shoulda went to that NIN show Sunday. Ive been on a tear of shows the last couple weeks and took a pass. That was a mistake.
  4. I just sold one that was awfully similar. It helped cover the Rickenbass

  7. I just wrote about 3 metal songs playing through Ch3 and and dialed in the best AC/DC sound I've ever gotten while collecting a noise complaint from the bar bar downstairs! This things a beast.
  8. My new amp situation. The 1x12 arrived today. I've got a nice, fairly clean blues tone dialed in on Ch1, "my" sound dialed in on Ch2, and the high gain on Ch3 will be fun to play with. It takes a Shaggy Screamer exceptionally well as a lead boost. The 1x12" sounds good turned way down and is plenty loud to play out and I still have my 1960A if I need more. These are great, extremely versatile amps. I highly encourage checking them out if you have a chance. Mines the EL34 version, a lot of people prefer the 6L6 version. Eddie was very involved with the design and evolution of these amps. I'm coming to Texas this week to marry off my youngest daughter, but when I get back I will have fun pairing it with that Fender Rumble via the Rick-o-sound output on the new bass.
  9. My friend has a few limited / numbered prints, most early Beatles, and even took me to the Art Exchange where they whe premiering a run of limited Ringo Stones prints from some photographer who had toured w them. Personally I dont get it. I haven't looked into it from an investment standpoint, if they hold their value it could be worth it. I fill my stairwell with framed concert posters and whatnot. I find cheap frames at the thrift store, then find high res images online that I like, crop them to fit the frames, and order them printed at Walgreens for a couple bucks.

  13. I saw a young woman the other night who had a J-Bass dialed in as well as ive ever heard a bass sound. She played both with a pick and her fingers. I went to the stageafter their set to see what pedals she was using and there was nothing but a tuner ahead of the amp. Super cute too.
  14. I'm lucky I bought new. As complicated as this bridge is, I see they were even more complicated prior to a redesign in 2020 and old ones are nearly impossible to set up. You had to remove all the strings to make any adjustment to even 1.
  15. I had to borrow a bass to practice while my P-Bass was in route to Vegas, thats when I realized I needed a backup bass. About a week later I dreamt that I'd bought a Rickenbacker bass as a back up, but ended up loving the Rick more - which was unthinkable. That's where this whole thing started. That was no dream, it was a premonition. Out of the box it was a good bass, but for the money you'de think they'd ship it out the door with a half decent setup. It was aweful. Both string height and spacing were all over the place. I spent half an hour setting it up and the thing nearly plays itself now. I can't put it down. The pickup cover is great, I can anchor the edge of my hand on it with my thumb on the neck pickup. The way the body is carved my forearm rests right along the top. The neck is super tight and responsive. I couldn't wait to get to practice to hear it mix in with the others and finally got the chance last night. It took a little dialing in, but it got there and sounded great. Bandmates love it. Woke up stroked from it and couldn't wait to get my hands on it this morning, though the fingers on both hands a sore and achey. Picked up the P-Bass and it felt bulky and loose. It pains me to write that, I love my P-Bass. Next up, dialing in the Rick-o-Sound. Ive ordered the matching 1x12 cab to go with that 5150iii that I bought the same day. Im starting to think maybe that wasn't a coincidence. Ill run the neck pickup into the bass amp and the bridge into a guitar amp with a touch of gain dialed in. Our guitar player already plays through a bass amp, so why not?
  16. I dont know whats going on with the whole EVH brand. I remember the 1st 5150 amps were Peavey branded, then they were EVH branded but Peavey built. Ive leaned since I got my 5150 iii that they are now Fender engineered and built. Those Erie Ball guitars are well built and a lot of fun to play. Ive kinda wanted the Alvin Lee model for years now.

  21. I struggled with this one after a promising open. Wordle 444 4/6* [emoji834]🟩🟩[emoji834][emoji834] [emoji834]🟩🟩[emoji834][emoji834] [emoji834]🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  22. Rickenbacker Bass Diary Day 1 If you're exploring the features of you're new Rick, do not loosen the mute screws all the way. If you do, the will detach from the mute plate and the only way to get it back on is to remove the entire bridge. This the most over complicated bridge design ther possibly could have come up with. Lesson learned.

  24. TBH, I haven't played anything but Koffs and Dirty Years stuff on it. Thats what its intended for and I needed to see 8f I can don't without that big pickup cover thing getting in the way. With that Rick-o-Sound thing, wonder if I can run 2 amp heads into one cab? I bet I could.
