  1. It will be hard to say no to the cash bag in hand, no strings attached vs sign with us, wait a year to enroll and then over the course of 4 years assuming everything goes well and you don’t transfer or are shown a trap door, x amount of dollars will be yours!

oversimplified, yes but this doesn’t take into account schools that have a good NIL game and supplement a bag game to go with it. NIL simply increases the $ pie for the players and allow “clean programs” to compete without getting aggy level dirty. No bag game will still be a disadvantage going forward. It doesn’t become irrelevant

What you wrote is the bulletin board version of yellow journalism, dude. I don't expect you to get it because in reading your last few posts, yeah, wow, I've been wasting my time here.

Yellow journalism on a bulletin board!  First time for everything, I guess.  I’ll do my part to not let that happen again. If nothing else comes from this at least you acknowledge that you are wasting your time here. I learned that a while back.

Yeah, you missed the point. I made up the Strong stuff as a parallel to you making up me claiming the bag game would be "irrelevant" in this class. You can't show your work on that, so either own it as a mistake or a lie, don't care which, but at least understand what's happening here.

As to "hate being wrong", right. I'm wrong all the time and happily admit as much. Do you understand the difference between "being wrong" and "having shit made up about what you said because a dumb fucking poster has no reading comprehension"? It doesn't seem like you get it.

Your point sucks because it is made up.

I said “ But I was told by ctj that bag games will be irrelevant.“.

this is accurate and you verified above. You believe it will be come irrelevant after the next few classes. Ok great. I happen to think it will still be relevant after the next few classes. We can see what happens or just have a race and let the winner be correct for now.

mantis is just a whiny bitch when everything discussed looking forward doesn't go exactly as speculated. He needs and expects certainty, dammit. I don't mind the shittalking when it's in context and put up against something I actually said, but his statement is no different than me talking about that time he told us all that Charlie Strong was going to be the next DKR and defended the man all the way to the unemployment line.

In truth, what I actually have said, and stand by, is that in the future the bag game will become largely irrelevant outside of the people absolutely intent on black market practices, which exist in any industry. I never said shit about this current class not having the bag game front and center and said it's probably going to be around similar to current form for at least the next few classes.

I know you hate being wrong so apologies in advance but you must have me confused with another mantis poster. There are a couple of them with subtle name differences. I wasn’t even on here during the Strong era.

although I can confirm your point about me being a whiny bitch. It suits me particularly well on this message board.

To be fair, ctj assumed (as did most of us) that our AD had been doing major work ahead of the NIL rollout, and our effort would be stellar. We were way wrong about that.

I’d wager that bag games can and will still play a significant role for many of the top players, if not most. Still a lot of money to be made prior to stepping on campus before any NIL payments start.

    to think otherwise is naive.

Basically Sark’s only real chance is to land Manning and have players portal in to play with him. He will be retained or fired based on his record in year 1 of the SEC.

One thing I can promise is our retarded donors won’t feel a sense of urgency until we are getting mushroom stamped in the SEC, and even then their focus will be on the next coach and not on stocking the roster with talent for that coach.

Honestly, if they did not feel a sense of urgency by getting mushroom stamped by the big 12, not sure why the SEC would be different, unless this is an NIL specific comment.

Bo Davis' show cause expired. There was nothing left to examine as the guy had been in the pros for years. He also previously worked at Texas and is extremely well-liked inside the AD.

I don't follow the part about Jeff Banks. He has a hot girlfriend that is a famous stripper with a pet monkey, that I first told y'all about before it appeared anywhere else on the UT boards. I don't think there is anything in that vein that compliance has any purview over, but maybe you guys can walk us through it.

But, sure, maybe those things are exactly like a fucking rape factory investigation that was breaking new stories on itself daily at the time of Sarkisian assembling his staff and therefore making the recruitment of Raymond to the staff toxic.

Also, maybe it wasn't compliance that shut down the recruitment of the recruiting coordinator from South Carolina, Drew Hughes, because of the recruiting scandal also breaking around the Tennessee program he'd just left.

Honestly, it's like logic is a repellant to some posters on this board. If you're going to work with analogies, do a better job of it than PSAT level shit.

Jokes on you. I aced the PSAT

I'm really starting to see the upside to all of this. We've been praying to Darwin for a long to bring along something to deepen the gene pool again. I think our prayers were answered. We just need to hold tight and let it run its course. Those kids will be fine. They're now with much smarter and more capable people and will probably be raised in a more tribal setting rather than nuclear family. Good, we need to grow up knowing our world is more than just our house. I'm not saying it's good-good, but it's not bad-bad, per se.

And yes, I did just rip the bong, why do you ask?

This by all accounts is a fine, fine post

According to some posters on here who claim to be in the know, we already are.

According to someone who attended the alumni lunch prior to the OU game, CDC was basically openly asking the alumni to help pay players through NIL. Acknowledging it’s open season and Texas would be a full participant

perhaps someone here can verify that was actually there, as this was 2nd hand info.

dang, didn't realize you guys have 8 guys on DL already committed, plus going for at least one more. I guess guys on campus aren't as good and are portaling. Looks like from the list, A&M was interested in Bledsoe the most, and also in Bryant.  I remember someone here making fun of A&M's early interest and offer to Bledsoe last year when he was an unknown. "Bread" might have been used as a descriptor. He might be the most important cog in your DL class, after being considered an OU lean. Congrats on landing him!

Quite kind of you. Best wishes.

Need our $9.95 guys to start writing recruiting articles noting that Texas is the premier in-state SEC option for Texas recruits.  Make Liucci have an aneurysm.

Oh dear. That will amuse me more than it should. Bets on which 9.95 is first?  My money would have been on the guy that left for the notre dame gig (I think) with the dorky wedding picture. Can’t believe I forgot his name.  With the current lot, no front runners come to mind
