    Gorgeous

Pulled up next to a restored one in dark green at a stop light today. Such a badass vehicle and it sounded perfect. Just a Dad cruising with his son in the back. I was jealous.

Are you trying to tell me that you didn't build every square inch of your house too?   Damn, what is this world coming to haha

Looks great though.  Finishing is an art in and of itself.  My least favorite part of any project.  That's what I'm trying the rubio monocoat, hoping it's as easy as they say

Ha, fair enough. Trim and finish work is definitely my favorite part. I love all the details.

    $650k is a fortune?!?

It is nowadays, most people barely have a "retirement" much less a savings.

Was going to say that while it's not a 'fortune', it's many multiples more than what the average person will ever have. Which is kind of crazy to think about.

I have noticed that most of the time when someone just sends a "hey" message and I ignore them, I never hear from them again.

The best is when you ignore them and then they respond 'nevermind, I figured it out!'.

You're welcome. Glad I could help.

  5. I'm a sucker for all things walnut. We have a walnut top for our kitchen island. Just ordered another one and am using this one for a coffee table. Considering doing the formal dining table in walnut also, but it may be too much.

Of course I'd have walnut floors if I could afford it.

First time in this thread. We bought a house a year ago that was built in 1994. I've done some small light fixture replacements, painting walls, etc. but just embarked on my first big project this week. Our kitchen cabinets are offensively orange and glossy honey oak. We had the counters and backsplash replaced, but the cabinets were too great an expense.

I put off starting the project for months, but now I've got some doors off, sanded and primed so there's no turning back. Expect some pictures of the finished project sometime in the next 3 years.

Been there man. It sucks balls, but is worth it. Don't skimp on the prep, primer, or paint because you don't want to do that shit again.

  7. Finally spent the money on a new pump and installed it tonight. The old one has been loud as hell since we bought this house, but kept running so I tried to ignore it. The new one is night and day difference in sound. Will be nice to be outside and not hear that bullshit anymore.

that's beautiful.  i've had a mind to refinish our island (acacia) and table (one of those butcher blocked farm tables) for a while now but haven't gotten around to it.  did you use their oil plus... product or something else? i looked at it but got overwhelmed at the different offerings and procedures.

Oil Plus 2C followed by Universal Maintenance Oil

    That’s the kicker right there.

Yeah I didn't mind the single coat look, but I could see how a lot of people would think it looked unfinished. Probably looks better on some wood species than others. I was worried the maintenance oil would bring the sheen up too much, but it's perfect. It is more matte now than it was when I took those pictures. Maybe somewhere between matte and satin.
