Always looks different in pictures, but our kitchen table was long overdue for a refinish. Used Waterlox before and was never really happy with it. Tried Rubio Monocoat this time and love how it turned out. One coat of finish and one coat of maintenance oil. Super easy to use and dries to a nice matte/satin sheen that still looks like wood rather than a plastic coating like some do.

You should be grateful to your executive overlords for allowing you such a generous perk. I know I am.We used to be "Business casual" with jeans allowed on friday if you donate a buck. That went away a few years ago and now it's jeans errrry day. -
Yes, agreed. I have two girls and worry about the body shaming bullshit. Morbidly obese is not okay in my opinion though. That ain't genetics (yes I'm a doctor...no I'm not) and it's a lack of self respect. Teenage girls and everything they have to deal with scare the shit out of me though so not looking forward to that stage. We absolutely, 100% body-shame females as a country (both men and women do it to girls). Everybody do you. Just leave me out of it and absolutely shut the fuck up about body issues in front of my daughters.
I don't know what it's like to be a chubby female. I imagine it ain't pleasant. I never talk to my girls about staying thin or looking pretty. They wash their hair for hygiene purposes. I let them get nails painted and lip gloss 'n shit at birthday parties/sleepovers. No revealing clothing or pierced ears, plenty of time for shit like that down the road. and if they start to get heavy, I don't care other than the health ramifications. I don't need to start a fucking social media account about it. Everybody is beautiful except that one weird orange person. And I guess maybe, Frank Stallone.- 1

Being unhealthy should never really be celebrated regardless of whether or not it 'makes you feel good'. I don't understand that mentality.

Or contact me in any way. Even if it's directly related to my job responsibilities. Fuck them.

And they will get 8-9 spots. So, again, what the fuck is the point of what you posted? You’re arguing against the point you want me to have made.
You’re arguing against a point you want me to have made, not one I made. Wadlington commented that the SEC/B1G are going to want 8-9 spots in a 12 team playoff. Thats all. The P2 have a lot of, well, power.

Not you. I still don't understand what the point of Statmans post was. Seems like the BIG and SEC would be content having all the money, all the recruiting, all the prime TV spots, and 75% of the playoff spots. If he refers to me then I don’t know how you got that. I point blank said the SEC/B1G would not get 9. I’d set the over/under at 7.5.
That being said allowing a Liberty level school a permanent spot over their 2-3 loss team is what’s pissing them off. If they go full at large then that problem goes away. -
It sounds like maybe he thinks the BIG and SEC should be getting more than 8-9 of the 12 spots?
-
Okay...so explain the problem again? No. The P4 conference champs are in. One G5 conference champ is in. That leaves seven at large. The B12 or ACC might get an extra team in, but not both.
Baseline should be 8-9 SEC and B1G teams in 12 team playoff -
Are you saying they would split off in a scenario where they already get 9-10 out of 12 playoff spots?
-
Okay. The Big 12 better hope they continue to do so. -
Arizona State has won six games over the past two years. Arizona had a nice season and then their coach jumped ship. CU has potential, but to this point has been all hype. They draw lots of eyeballs, but were honestly shit last year. Why? What makes you think KSU, OSU and KU are positioned to be better than CU, ASU and Arizona in future years? -
I need a track saw. What's the best reasonable option?
This house looks awesome. More pics?Only took about three months of on-again / off-again work, but finally finished up this outdoor table. Still need to figure out what we're going to do for benches / chairs, so we're using some cheap ones from Home Depot in the meantime. I may get roped into building some benches to match the table. If so, those should be ready in the spring... of 2025.
Construction was pretty easy. Welded up some 3x3 square tube for the base. 4/4 Teak for the top. Fastened with dominoes and left a dime gap between the slats for water to drain. Had to go back and weld some additional supports for the perpendicular middle piece since I couldn't find any Teak longer than 10'. Turned out nicer than I expected, but the Teak was waaaaay more expensive than I originally thought. -
Hate to see it.

The eye test of course. If Oklahoma and Kansas State were both so much better than Oklahoma State, why did they both lose to them?- 1

Are these any good? Our pepper mill sucks and it's pissing me off.

I'd just get a few varieties of Marie Sharp's. Regular green label, grapefruit, and green nopal would be my choice for not too hot. All of them can be found at Fiesta. My daughter has "hot sauce" on her Christmas list. Any recs on a good gift pack from a particular vendor? Maybe 3 types? Nothing too hot, more like table sauce heat (Crystal, Cholula, etc.). I'm thinking red, green (Dona-ish?) and something a little more exotic (mango-habanero or some such). Hopefully available either local retail or amazon. Thoughts?

Similar to Wüsthof Gourmet line.

Wait...you had that little door in the wall and a TV was behind it?

Why not just get one of the newer Chromecasts? We have those on the older TV's without the Google interface pre-installed and love it.On the additional "boxes," I have an OG Chromecast and am content with it, but I suppose it will stop working before long as they are no longer supported.
So, I guess leg up to Chromecast for familiarity. Other than Apple TV, should I seriously consider Roku or Firestick? I am particularly fond of using the casting feature to send music to tv and out to high quality stereo receiver DSP.
Not sure I can really duplicate that with any of the others.- 1

Highly recommend the Pure color on black walnut. It looks amazing. The maintenance oil really gave it a professional looking finish too.
Also, the sanding is really important. Tons of videos out there, but I used multiple grits all the way up to 180 and water popped the grain between each. Maroon pad by hand before the final maintenance oil coat.
